Saw LG models in Amazon and these were the prices listed:
32LH20 ~ $600 ~ Php28K - same as local intro price
37LH20 ~ $700 ~ Php33K - will this be the estimate cost locally for a 37"?

We saw the LG32LH20 at Sights and Sounds awhile ago and here is my quick take of the unit: (We were shopping along with my aunt for a dedicated PS3 T.V for her kid)
DVD/Blu-Ray:
For a 720p native model, the LH20 jumped at me with surprisingly good colors. It will remind you of the color defenition of the older LG 32 Plasma with better defined details. The 32PC5RV will still catch your immediate attention, but a careful look will show you that this LCD is definitely close to it's "legendary" plasma brother. For DVD we fired up Star Wars episode 4, and checked for uneven lighting as the opening rolled. As expected, there were a few extra bright spots but nothing too overbearing to actually ruin the show. DVD viewing was pleasant with hints of picture noise, and a bit of "extra" glare - A phenomenon that plagues even the best of LCD's. Blu-ray on the other hand was nearly flint free, and fast action scenes from the "Transformers" were handled with relative ease and picturesque finesse.
PS3:
Playing violent quick first person scans with "Resistance" delivered a near blur free performance. Colors remain vibrant and "arcadey", while maintaining the ever important accurate input response times(At Least for gamers).
My take:
With the LCD and Plasma market being flooded with "Full HD" panels, it's refreshing to see a very strong 720p performer - Surprising and delighting us further with it's excellent picture quality and relatively low price.
Pro's
+Good colors
+High contrast ratio rated at 30,000 to 1 for an above average LCD "black-level" performance (Given this is just an HD-Ready T.V)
+Very good viewing angles
+Great gaming input response time
Con's
-Overly bright at times
-Some picture noise

32LH70 should be available this weekend. 32LG53 has no TruMotion 100Hz and blutooth. :(

The ASAP includes free Spyder TV calibration, free TV service unit when you TV is under repair, free one-time TV transport from one place to another destination (metro Manila), etc.

Wala pa. According to LG sales coordinator, this model is already discontinued. The succeeded model will be 32" LED TV. You may wish to wait for the LED TV instead. Hopefully, the price won't be far from LH70. :D

The 32" LED is still not available for viewing. We also don't know what will be the price. If you are not in a hurry to purchase, perhaps, you may just wait for the LED to be available. Anyway. it will be just a month or 2 of waiting. By that time, you might have more choices of TV to consider. :D

Yes, LG deliver sharper image. It also presents better color. Since next release TVs will be mostly full HD, I suggest you get full HDTV to go with the trend. 32LH35 full hdtv is a good choice. It even has a good price. :)

Not much from the spec sheet. Best if you audition the two side by side. But the LH35 is definitely bang for the buck.

not considering that LH35 is full HD, the two are nearly priced and are just around 6k apart.
LH35 provides a better contrast ratio (difference of 20000) and, on paper, should consume slightly less power (should be cheaper to use in the long run).
LH20, on the other hand, is to be phased out soon (already is in the US) but is cheaper and should be ok for the philippines until all tv networks go full HD (which will probably take at least 10 years, if ever).

32LH35 has usb port that can play divx files while 32LH20 has none.
This is usefull if you have no budget yet for NMT's and already have a collection of divx files stored on an external disk or flashdrives. :)

32LD460 can play DivxHD and has bluetooth. This TV has better picture presentation than Samsung 32C550. Samsung delivers brighter picture that, for me, quite glaring. :)

Your reference is for duty free (the privilege extended to OFWs and balikbayan at Duty Free Shop). This was emphasized to me by custom officers at the airport. YES, categorically nakakalusot ka lang and the other 2 million OFWs kasi walang LAW exempting travellers not to pay duties non-duty free items. Yung mga dala nating mga goods are not duty free (like electronics). May mga tariff yan. Ask the customs at the airport, and they will tell you the duties. Even sa declaration form ng mga dala-dala natin ay pinapasulat duon kung may dala kang electronics kasi subject to tariff ang mga ito. Anyway, congrats kung never ka na-harassed. Kami ay palagi kasi when the customs ask kung ano ang laman ng bagahe namin, we are always honest to tell them kung may electronics.

2. Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is a Filipino national who worked in a foreign country under an employment contract. Only OFWs who have an uninterrupted stay abroad for more than six (6) months are entitled to duty and tax free privileges.
3. Former Filipino. A Filipino national who has acquired foreign citizenship abroad and is now returning. Only former Filipinos who are coming to settle permanently in the Philippines and have stayed abroad for at least six months are entitled to the duty and tax exemption privileges.
2 ARE BALIKBAYANS ALSO ENTITLED TO CERTAIN DUTY AND TAX FREE PRIVILEGES?
BALIKBAYAN is another term for an OFW or a former Filipino. A returning resident is also a BALIKBAYAN when he has stayed abroad for at least one year. Balikbayans are entitled to duty and tax free privileges.

Mas safe na bumili na lang dito sa Pilipinas (tulad ng sa Sights and Sounds) because of the PHIL warranty and store repair/customer service and to avoid the harassment at the port of entry. Marami pa ring buwaya sa airport even if you are an OFW. Ginagatasan pa rin nila! Ayaw ko nang maharass ng mga customs kaya I avoid buying abroad and bringing them here.

37LD460 is consider a value for money TV because of 1) good picture and high contrast. 2) full HD. 3) lowest price in the 37" category. 4) added feature of USB video.
The LX and LE are still not available. Since 37" is not a popular size for the consumers, I don't think LG Phil. will bring in other series of 37" in our market. :D

Yes, it can play mkv files, though the picture quality is not as great as the picture presented by dedicated media player. :D

I recently bought one. It's a LG 42LD460. Before testing it, I read sa PinoyPS at sa mga article sa google na importante pag bibili ng LCD and 120Hz na refresh rate. So nung una napa-isip ako na baka nagkamali ako ng bili. Pero nabasa ko sa PinoyPS na sa ibang games mas ok kung iturn-off yung True Motion ng LG kasi nagkakaroon ng ripple effect. At sa isang article na nabasa ko yung improvement na makikita sa mataas na refresh rate eh subjective sa tao mismo at karamihan di daw napapansin yung improvement. I guess isa na ko dun dahil sa astigmatism ko. Hindi ko napapansin yung mga improvement na sinasabi nila regarding sa pagkakaroon ng mataas na refresh rate. Hehehe.
Back to question. Ni-test ko last night sa games na MGS4, NBA 2K10 at Dragon Age origins. Para sa akin ok naman ako sa Picture Quality. Naka on pa nga yung Energy Saving Mode to medium kasi pag naka off medyo bright masyado. Smart Picture lang gamit kong setting. Naka set siya to "Game".

No need na for an NMT if you have the LD460. The built-in media player plays .mkv and .mp4 files already. Problema lang pag DTS yun audio, you need to convert it pa to Dolby Digital. Kun hindi, walang sound. Downloaded a Popcorn MKV audio converter off the net and takes roughly about 30 minutes to decode one movie from DTS to AC3.

Only 37 and 42" LD460 have price adjustment.
The LD460 is a newer model of LG. It has succeeded the old model LH series. The new model has advantage of capable to play HD movies on high storage hard disk thru USB. The LH series used to have USB problem of unable to read HD movies on a 1TB HDD storage.
Ganzklar is a generic TV like AVision, Devant, or Ovation. Since do not have Ganzklar, we cannot comment or give impression on the said product. :)

But I started reading about backlight bleeding from some of the LD460 users. Is backlight bleeding covered by the warranty? How much bleeding will warrant a replacement? How many times can I replace the unit if the problem always resurfaces after a few months?

Backlight bleeding is a factory defect problem, It is not something that can be corrected by major repair under the term of warranty. In view of this, I suggest that whoever has this problem should have the TV replaced instead of relying for warranty to correct the issue.

actually visible lang pag meron black sa baba at taas ng screen..pero kung full screen yung pinapanood ko hindi masyadong halata..yun nga lang pag nanonood ako ng mkv halos lahat hindi full screen yung pinapanood ko medyo annoying kasi meron spot sa baba na maliwanag..hehe..

Backlight bleeding is a factory defect problem, It is not something that can be corrected by major repair. Hence it is not a question of to what extent the TV should be replace. I, therefore, suggest you have it replace immediately instead of awaiting the TV to further deteriorates. :)

Backlight bleeding or not, mukhang di apektado ang sales ng SnS sa LG ah. The stocks arrived only yesterday and boy, you can see so many people coming and going. Haba ng pila! The HT805 is arrayed in front of the store, piled 3 boxes high. Wala ng mapaglagyan nga yong mga TV. And to think these stocks are pre-ordered, me mga may-ari na sila lahat. I was lucky I placed my order only last Tuesday, with a friend in tow who also placed another, for the 32LD460. 3 successive pinoydvd'ers tested their units together with the HT805 (Thanks Jonjon for the setup) so I get the chance to see the connections. By the time we asked for our units, fill up na lang ng warranty. I'm sure any problems this may have caused to the past buyers will be remedied by LG as their name is at stake. And I don't worry because with SnS, you can be assured of personal service. Thanks for the crew, Miriam (me libreng adapter plug ako!), Jun, Ely, Jonjon and Hazel ably assisting us. Me libreng music sampler pa kami from sir Vic on lossless FLAC music plugged in while waiting for our warranty cards.
By the way, this is my second unit from SnS. Yung 42PV8 Panny ko is going great. Would love to hang it on the wall kaya lang mahal ang mounting. Bawas presyo sir Vic, he-he-he.
Finally, I would advise future buyers, after ordering from SnS, pick it up on a weekday. Saturdays and Sundays? I've tried it once, daming tao, parang nasa fastfood ka.
