One thing to note about myshoppingbox is that there's a yearly fee involved with their services, on top of the shipping fees that they charge.

Even with the yearly fee tho, I think it's worth taking a look at. One thing I like about them is that they offer a per pound charging for their ocean freight. The per balikbayan box model of other services like Johnny Air seems a bit limiting to me, as it would force me to make several purchases at a time just so "sulit" yung fee na binayad ko.

Note : Yes, I have an account at MSB. :D

parang okay :)

hmmmm .... $8.50 per pound for laptops. ..... so kung 3 Kilos laptop including box (guesstimate) = $56.10

multiply by Php 49.00 per $1 equals 2,748.90 ....... tapus zero tax???

pwede ;D

"mySHOPPINGBOX will handle customs formalities in Manila which is also part of the service provided on a door-to-door basis. Packages not of commercial quantity are declared as Personal Effects and not subject to duties or taxes."

so ........... kung bumili ako one or two unit Digicam thru this facility, they will be declared as personal effects right?? so no custom duties and taxes will be charged?

Yeah, this is one of the things I confirmed with their sales agents before signing up for their service.

Is it possible to order a big screen tv from amazon, 100lbs shipping weight, be delivered to the US msb address, and MSB will be the one to ship and deliver to my doorstep?

this is interesting... anyways... anybody knows how long it has been in business...? we dont want any fly-by-night... $25 may be small... pero shempre... it still is $25!

another thing.. would you have the option to choose your shipping method? option 1 or 2?

The site indicates that TVs can only be seafreighted.  Mas mura ang shipping rates pero ang tagal ng period na kakaba-kaba-kaba.

Can someone explain this plain and simple?   How come shipping companies can declare (electronic) goods for Personal Use and be exempted from importation duties (legally?) while individual travelers can't get away with that?

So how the hell can they proudly make that statement in their website eh?    ;D

why not write. "The price includes all costs and expenses related to Customs Formalities, including importation duties if applicable".  hehehe.

probably merun kaunting tax but mas lower when declared as personal effects. am just floating the idea lang po as I also have no idea about this.

i just made a trial order from amazon. to be shipped to my subscribed address :) so far ok kasi amazon did not charge me tax unlike pag pinadala ko sa New York. will update everyone on the progress of my trial order/shipment as the item is still en route

I'll give feedback too in a month's or so time. I used the service to ship over some electronics by ocean freight.

So far, so good though. The items I got from ebay and audiogon were both successfully delivered to my subscribed address, which were then immediately reflected in my online my-shoppingbox account. Just have to wait for 43 or so more days ...

Nah. Some electronics to round out my home theater setup. A 5 channel power amp and a pre/pro weighing in at 40 lbs and 23 lbs respectively. All in all, $160 for ocean freight.

maybe they didnt send it as one package? or 1? $11 shipping is $5.50 x 2.. so maybe they counted it as 2 items instead of bundling it together?

Isn't that what JAC charges also?  $6 for 1 pound then $5 handling fee....only no $25 initial fee.

i recently signed up for their services.. got myself some pswii60 accessories.. my total amazon bill was $59..  total volume weight was 7 lbs x $8.50 = 59.50... mas mahal pa yung shipping kesa actual ...

mas mahal nga dito sa msb... mas ok parin jac..

i guess it would work pag dvds lang ipapadala and non electronic items.. para 5.50 ang rate per lb...

no sir ... it arrived as one package ....

I asked their customer service beforehand the condition of the packaging and its appropriate charge .... kaya when I ordered sa Amazon .... I made sure na it will be shipped as one packaging :)

This is how they compute it .... weight by volume sila. Unlike Jac parang based sila sa shipping weight talaga .....

Quoting the internet website ng My-shoppingbox.com:
Quote
The weight of each package is computed on the basis of actual gross weight or dimensional or volumetric weight, whichever is higher. The formula for the dimensional weight is length X width X height divided by 166. This is automatically computed by the mySHOPPINGBOX website whenever a package is received for a Subscriber.

my package is 9.5" x 7.5" x 3.5"

Thus :   Volume weight = (9.5 x 7.5 x 3.5) / 166
= 1.50 lbs by volume or two pounds

Shipping Cost = two pounds x $5.50 (by Air pinili ko)
                                = $ 11.00

hay .... dapat maninipis lang pagkaka pack ;D

yes pwede .....

Baka din kaya dahil sa Door-to-Door siya? AFAIK pag Door-to-Door Service ng JAC mas mahal nga ata .....

I believe they also charge a certain premium for electronics..... Now if only I can get the packaging size beforehand ..... :(

i got my items just this morning..

has anybody of you had their items repacked?

i mean.. i got it with a scanned amazon doc shipping invoice.. the box was non amazon and the items are inside..

naiisip ko lang.. what if.. amazon's box was smaller... cant they ship it as is.. ala jac?

kasi repacking them gives them the liberty of packing it in a bigger box = bigger charges

parang unethical if they do this..

Hmmm ... have you checked if your items' shipping weight was calculated using the original or with their repackaging? Unless they provide you the choice to not repackage the items, parang masagwa nga ang dating.

On a side note, I'm still waiting for my items. Ocean freight is definitely cheaper, but it can also drive you up the walls with all the waiting.

Just guessing:

Might be easier for them to clear the package if they dont use Amazon box?

Might be safer if they dont use the Amazon box (na mainit sa mata ng mga kups)?

Might be a way of reinforcing the packaging? - pero matigas ang box ng Amazon diba?

ok lang.. shipping weight was at 3lbs... they computed for the volume weight which was 6.1 lbs ata.. rounded off to 7lbs...

so whichever is higher. 7lbs..

naisip ko lang kasi... if they used the amazon box.. ok lang naman coz they used their own tape... di naman ganun kalaki ang space na natira sa box..

im not really complaining... just wondering lang.. knowing amazon.. they tend to overkill the box of the items.. baka nga myshoppingbox is doing us a favor if theyre repacking it into a smaller box.. i dunno really.. pero sana may pics sila to show transparency diba...

here are the pics of the box...

kahit na fractrion lang yun sa volume weight ..... it could make a difference whether you pay the extra pound or not. open to argument tuloy yung method na ito

Hmm ... that's weird. The last time I talked with one of their customer support agents, he was insistent that they had this policy of not opening packages for repackaging since it has the possibility of opening up a can of worms with the customer.

I'm going to go ahead and send an email, from your reports there's a mismatch between the company line as spouted by their agents and actual practice. Either that, or there are specific cases where they perform the repackaging. Either way, it's best to clarify.

Bro Waxx, I hope you dont mind..but whats inside your box? Wala kasi ako nakita cushion man lang like what Amazon does. Do you know wether the repacking was done here or abroad?

AFAIC, whatever reason they may have in doing this but opening your package is not right. Technically based on one company's rules and the owner of the package, and legally by law unless you are the Customs examiner.

its a nyko intercooler for xbox360, ps3, and nyko wii sensor bar ... wala ngang peanut styro as usually what amazon does... im thinking that it was packed abroad.. one thing i noticed.. is parang ang shipper nila is skynet.. i dont know if sister company nila or consignee sila.. anyways... if ever consignee lang sila.. whats keeping us from using the services of skynet? ipapadala ko nalang sa bahay ng friend ko then ill ask her to repack and use skynet.. baka mas makamura pa.. controlled pa ang laki ng box if ever..

im not really sure kung naka state ba sa terms and conditions nila if you avail of their services, you give them consent to open your package and repack them.. ill read on it when i find time..

anyways... yun kay sir ment naman.. ive ordered bluray/games sa amazon before, and from what i know..they pack the discs together.. use shink wrap against a single cardboard backing.. i dunno kung ganun ba ang state na dumating sa kanila.. nevertheless i hope we can ask them to send us pics of our items when they receive it? before they repack it or what not... anyways.. if they wont heed to our request, then whats stopping us from continuing to avail of their services diba?..

again as ive said.. i dont mind spending $25 just to give our guys a review of how their service is.. and in this case.. it would be their loss and not ours if indeed they keep on doing unacceptable practices for us..

iba parin ang JAC.. .madaling kausap... may tawad pa. ;D

lemme upload the picture later ..... na unpack ko na nga lang ....

yes that corrugated box-like packing we got so used sa amazon  is definitely not there.

Whether dito or sa US pa yan ... hindi dapat nawala sa padala sa akin yung orig packaging ng amazon even kung inexamine ng customs. and as i said..... since volume weight sila..... lugi ako doon sa nangyari if in case kung sinukat ko lang yung blurays na dumating ay lumabas saktong one pound.

anyway i'll make a complaint sa email.

Thanks Waxx for the reply. Based dun sa pic mo kasi mukhang local yung box, those kind of box are not fit for travel. Mukhang malambot lang siya. So I guess dito na nilagay sa kahon yan.

@ ment, that is definitely a thumbs down for me. I read again their terms & conditions and it states that:

You authorize FICI, its subsidiaries, affiliates and third party service providers, to open and check the packages when necessary to verify that the contents do not contain prohibited items. FICI shall refuse deliveries to the Subscriber's MY-SHOPPINGBOX should the items in question fall under the category of dangerous or prohibited goods.

Parang alam ko na ang style nito..carry items lang sila by some individual siguro. Kaya tinatanggal sa box para hindi bulky sa bagahe ng magdadala, daming ganito ang racket sa mga Flight Attendants ng airlines. Again, as I've said in my previous post, I can't find any reason why they have to open it and throw your original box at naka plastic na lang pagdating sa inyo.

($56) hay... oh well.. charge it to experience ika nga..

good day,

i was able to receive my package today. thanks.

however. I noticed it is not in its original packing from amazon. It
was repacked by your end.

May I inquire why it was done in such manner as I believe there was
nothing in our subscription  agreement that you will repack my item.
having previous experiences with amazon purchases I was expecting it
was in its original corrugated box like packing. plus i am aware that
you computed my shipping cost base on amazon's packing sleeve.

kindly refer to attached picture .... the transparent plastic wrap
underneath the bluray disc was used instead. my intention is not to
contest the bill but to understand why it was done in such manner.

Thanks in Advance for your clarification,

and here is the reply I got earlier:

Quote
Dear ,

We would like acknowledge your email with much concern.

Our immediate review of your package history shows that it was indeed received in our Burbank facilities, and dispatched to the Philippines, packed in the usual Amazon carton box.

We have in the meantime, sent an urgent inquiry to our Manila Station, to advise us why your shipment was not delivered in its original packing, or in a carton box, as it should be. Unfortunately, with the time difference, it will take several more hours before we can get any information.

There have been indeed, several instances, when carton boxes had to be changed when these cannot be fixed or re-taped properly, after these are torn open or damaged, during random inspection by the Philippine Customs, to avoid items from falling out or exposed, but just the same, the delivery should have been in a carton box, with a note informing you that the box had to be replaced.

We sincerely apologize that your package has not been properly handled. Please rest assured that we shall take the necessary action to avoid that this should happen again.

Please let us know in the meantime, if your discs have been damaged, or unacceptable to you, due to its condition, so we can order a replacement with air freight shipping and delivery to your address, at no cost to you.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

MY-SHOPPINGBOX.COM

bakit sa JAC di naman nagka-issue in terms of repacking the items? di ba sila dumadaan sa customs for checking?

lahat yan dumadaan sa customs hindi pwedeng hindi, yung case dito tingin ko sa amerika pa lang binubuksan na nila at nililipat na sa ibang lalagyan, consolidated na bago pa ipadala dito.

Hmm ... sorry for the late update to this one. Haven't really had time for PDVD the last month or so. >_>

Anyway, I was able to receive my packages exactly on schedule. About the previous concerns, I received my items in the same packaging used by the original sender. I didn't notice any nasty bump marks on the boxes, and I'm happy to say that I was able to plug in both components (processor and power amp) and have them working on the first try.

If ever I fail in holding back my upgrade itch, I wouldn't hesitate over buying components abroad and having them sent over via MSB. ^^

    Dear Johnny Tan,

    Thank you for your email.

iPads are subject to 100% weight surcharge. Therefore, the average shipping weight of 3 lbs. is multiplied by 2, resulting to a total of 6 lbs. This is then multiplied by $8.50 per lb., resulting to a charge by air of $51.00. Add-on insurance is 4% of value in excess of $100.00.

Recent 64GB models with a shipping weight of 3 lbs., and a declared value of $700.00 amounted, $75.00.

Please note only 1 iPad is allowed per subscriber per shipment.

Please let us know if you need any additional information.

Dear Johnny Tan

Thank you for your email.

The weight surcharge is based on its shipping weight, which is the higher of either the volume weight and the actual weight.

All the Ipads that we have received so far, are standard packed at 3 lbs., in a package measuring 11 x 10 x 4 inches for a volume weight of 2.65 lbs. The shipping weight therefore is 3 lbs.

This packing specification is standard to 16, 32 and 64 GB models, that we have received so far. Just the same, final shipping weight is determined by the weight and measure of each package as received.

Please let us know if you need any additional information.

Sincerely,

MY-SHOPPINGBOX.COM

i see, how come there is a weight surcharge of 100%? it is in my understanding that you only charge for actual weight or volume (whichever is higher) and no surcharges... as posted in your rate page:

Air Cargo Class 2    USD    8.50 per pound or fraction thereof

Goods classified under Air Cargo Class 2 , may include among others, cameras, desk top and notebook computers and accessories, computer and other electrical toys and games, scientific, medical and other precision instruments, electrical and mechanical spareparts, electrical instruments, tools, and electric ovens.

there was no mention of a surcharge in any of your pages, nor was it mentioned anywhere in your page that items are subject for surcharges. ive checked the terms and conditions and searched your whole website and there was no mention of a surcharge.  in fact, that is why im inquiring of the surcharge because this is the first time i came across that term eversince i subscribed to msb.

im just surprised that all of a sudden there is a 'surcharge' coz i thought that there are no hidden charges for msb.

bat ganun.. ibig sabihin pag hotcake ba ang item nila.. take advantage din sila? if ganun sila. ill bring the business back to jac nalang...

as of now their total revenue from my orders is around $400.. thats for shipping alone palang..

will wait for their reply

Dear Johnny Tan

Thank you for your email.

If there is a declared value of $700.00 for  a small 3 lb. package, it will be classified as high value goods, similar to items such as fancy and real jewelry and accessories and other expensive items, and therefore the acceptability of which will be at our option, and subject to charges on a case to case basis. Please refer to our FAQ page.

However, if there is no declared value, which would limit our liability to $100.00, then standard class 2 rates for electronics will apply for air shipment.

Please let us know if you need any additional information.

Sincerely,

MY-SHOPPINGBOX.COM

i have read and reread your FAQ page, and i dont see anything with regards to this inquiry that i have. would you be kind enought to copy and paste it here?

ok, given that you have a 'surcharge' for high valued items, how come the ipads valued 700 below are still subject to surcharge? i do believe that lower models of ipad (16 and 32gb)  are priced below $700?

when is an item classified as "high value"? what is the barometer for such?

so if i would be shipping laptops and cameras exceeding $700 there will be surcharge?

please enlighten me, thank you.

    Thank you for your email.

    The following is the clause:

UNACCEPTABLE FOR SHIPMENT BY AIR OR SEA
"Jewelries, precious metals, high value wrist watches and others "

The word "others" in this case is all encompassing, would refer to items which in our own unilateral discretion as valuable and high risk to either pilferage or customs action. IPads have recently become very popular, which as a result, have also become hot items for customs, where clearance expenses vary at time of inspection and assessment, as a "standard tariff" has yet to be established.

Laptops and cameras used to be subject to surcharges, however these have become quite common and "tariffs" have now been established for its entry declaration, and therefore previous surcharges have been removed.

So far the value declarations for iPads have been from a low of $650.00 to a high of $850.00. The value declarations are based on what subscribers declare to us by email, as Apple ship iPads without any invoices or value declaration in a neutral unmarked package.

Please let us know if you need any additional information.

ok, now i understand.. so for the time being, since the item is fairly new and 'hot' there are surcharges. so as time goes by, we can expect the ipad's surcharge be also remove when tariffs are in place?

so since there is no declared value for the ipad, if i got a 32gb. i will still be charged 6lbs for it? am i correct?

    thank you for the enlightenment

Dear Johnny Tan,

Thanks for your email.

An iPad without any value declaration will be classified just like any electronic item, charged at class 2 rate for air. This means that if the shipping weight is 3 lbs., then the amount of shipping by air will be computed as follows:

3 lbs. x $8.50 = $ 25.50
(our maximum liability in case the item is stolen or lost will be limited to $100.00)

However, if there is a declared value of $700.00, for example, the item will be subject to a 1 time weight surcharge, with final charges computed as follows:

3 lbs. x 2 = 6 lbs. x $8.50 = $51.00 plus insurance of $24.00= $74.00

Once the iPad become common, we believe that a standard tariff will be established, and surcharges will also become a thing of the past, just like with laptops and cameras.

Please let us know if you need any additional information.

Sincerely,

MY-SHOPPINGBOX.COM

Yup! That's the way I understood it as well brader Waxx. Looks like they really take advantage of what's "HOT" right now. :)

Right now, the difference between and iPad and a notebook/laptop is that the former is new in the market, that's it! :)

Although, I think I know the reason why they apply a surcharge for "HOT" and new items. Alam mo naman dito sa Pinas, if its new and valuable, mainit talaga sa mata ng taong nagtra-trabaho sa customs. If your iPad is held and customs confiscates it for one reason or another, MSB can pay you back the declared amount thru the surcharge. I guess it's there way of saving their ass in the end. :)

I don't get the surchage AND insurance in the 2nd computation.  Bakit may surcharge pa if they ask you to pay for insurance anyway.  Why not get the 1st computation ($25.50) then add insurance nalang para pag nawala, you're still insured for the actual price of your product. Ya think?

update on msb.

for the second time this year, i received an order not in its original box. this time around it was placed in a box for a different msb client. i quickly emailed them and here's their response and mine (in red)...

dear msb:

my latest order of 5 bluray discs (number 100000002966) was not shipped in its original box.. the label of the box was addressed to a certain: jo ann t dizon.

i have emailed amazon and they have assured me that they did not ship 5pcs blurays in a big box, i quote the email i got from amazon customer service:

Amazon's efforts to reduce packaging waste don't stop with Frustration-Free Packaging. For instance, we've developed software that determines the "right-sized" box for any given item based on dimension and weight.

As a result, we've achieved a dramatic reduction in the number of packages shipped in over-sized boxes, significantly reducing waste; our goal is to always have the product ship in the "right-sized" box.

in the regard, can you check the real dimensions of the box that amazon shipped my items in, this is the second time this has happend, the first time was one of my earlier orders with you wherein the items i ordered from amazon were repacked in a different box.

i expect a recomputation of the charges if indeed amazon will send me the right dimensions of the box they shipped my items in.

Dear Johnny Tan,

Thanks for your email.

Your item was packed in box measuring, :10 x 7 x 5.5 in., which weighed 1.7 lbs., as shown in the description of goods, in your Shoppingbox.

Based on the dimensions, the volume  weight is 2.319 lbs., which is then rounded-up to 3 lbs., as the Shipping Weight.

Handling charges by air was computed at 3 lbs. x $5.50=$16.50, which is exactly the amount you paid.

Please rest assured that you were not charged more than what the actual packaging was, when the goods were received in our Burbank facilities, which is in accordance with our published rates.

Sincerely,

MY-SHOPPINGBOX.COM

msb:

again, i would never know and verify unless i see the box amazon shipped it in no? i have encountered the same predicament during the early times that i first got my orders from amazon. it wasnt shipped in the amazon original box, the box that was used was a different box without amazon label, was below the quality of the sturdiness for shipping and the dimensions used for that box was the one that was charged to me, i even got a photograph of that said box that you used for my orders.

again, what proof can i have that the box that was used to ship my items in the box that you specified? i have here a box from amazon (based on previous orders) measuring 10x8x4  (1.93 lbs) which could easily fit the 5 items that i ordered. how can i be assured that amazon didnt use that specific box??

i would like to make myself believe your word that you are charging me accordingly, however without proof, i cant help not cast a shadow of doubt on the kind of practices your company is doing. unless you can give me substantial evidence and locate the original box used to ship my items, then im sorry to inform you that i will have to bring the business i give you elsewhere.

I was charged 4 lbs volumetric (actually 3.02lbs, rounded up to 4 lbs) for a flat package (starcraft2 inside) just because they attempted to measure the envelope like a package (volumetric weight).

After an email complaint from me, I was contacted by a Mr. Vega, (seems like a top level manager at MSB, or SKynet perhaps) and he said that it happens because the people assigned to do the measuring in the US are not complying with their request to maybe fold the envelope or use a little more common sense when inputting the values in the system.

at any rate, he gave me a credit for the 3 lbs so I'll be expecting it the next shipment.

but regarding the non-original box, it happened to me twice before (the boxes are cutout from bigger boxes), I assume that they did it because what I shipped is small compared to the box.. but there really isn't any way for us to know if they actually increased the box size to earn more for them...

i always make it a point to re weight and recalculate the box dimensions that comes in.  i make it a point to check that the box was the original one sent by the merchant. di sila makakalusot sa akin.

We've tried My-Shopping Box's services and it sucks!

I ordered some cheap scrapbooking items just to try their services.

I was so happy that the items got delivered that I ordered more and had them sent to MSB.

However, almost all the other items got delivered, except for this one item. I e-mailed them, got a reply 3-4 days after telling me that they'd look on it. Days passed, I received no reply. I then called their Manila office, who told me that they'd investigate on it and that they'd call me back later that day. I never received a call back.
I sent e-mails again and as usual, they replied only after a week and told me that they never received the item and that I should talk to the merchant. The thing is, I already forwarded them my conversation thread with the merchant and even attached the USPS tracking report saying that it has been delivered to them, when I contacted them! Obviously, they didn't even read and understood my message!

The USPS tracking report obviously stated that the item has been delivered to them, but they refuse to acknowledge it.

If I can't even trust them with a P500.00 worth of an item, how can I trust them with higher valued ones?! You guys can continue to try their services at your own risk, but I am definitely not recommending them to anybody! It's going to be a month now and my item still hasn't been found. They said on ther FAQs that they'd pay for items that get lost under their custody, but they wouldn't. They will just tell you that they never received it, even if it has been clearly stated on the delivery report that it has been delivered to them.

I've also been e-mailing them and have either been getting a week long reply or none at all, so I just keep on e-mailing them.

Guys, I'm telling you based on our experiences, MY-SHOPPING BOX SUCKS AND IS DEFINITELY NOT TRUSTWORTHY. There are other more reliable shipping companies who also have good customer service and are much more worth the prices that you pay for shipping.

Oh wow. I thought I'm the only one who has a bad experience with MSB. Last September 2010, I received an email from BDO stating that "virtual card" holders are entitled to a free one year subscription and shipping fee rebates to My Shopping Box so I availed the promotion. I bought 3 PS3 games from Amazon and had them forwarded via MSB. I was very glad that I got my package relatively quickly. Their rates are lower (disregarding the annual fee since I didn't have to pay for that) than JAC and they offer delivery to my location, which is very convenient.

However, when I opened the package, I was very disappointed to see a slit on the Blu-ray disc case stacked on top near the opening flap of the box. It was a long slit which is obviously due to careless opening of the box with a blade. I checked the case and found out that though there's a long indented line in there, it didn't cut through. So I thought I'll just try to sell it and just replace the copy (since I'm quite particular with disc cases). Then I checked the other 2 discs cases and I was shocked to see that the game stacked at the bottom had a slit that cut through the transparent cover. I immediately sent them an email; then called them, etc. but up 'til now--I've replaced the games already--my complaint is still unresolved.

Here's a picture of what happened to the disc case:

Now I'm having my stuff forwarded through Pobox. It takes longer but they've got great service.

yeah, msb is a pain.  right  now i think users (including me) are experiencing problems logging in.

medyo convenient lang sila in terms of:

payment (online cc charged by USD)
delivery (right to your doorstep)
logistics tracking (online status)
no premium electronic fees (ie. ipad; laptop; etc)
no IATA based conversion
no handling fee

cons:

slower than jac  10-12 days ang msb.
annual fee of $25 (this is probably the same for jac's handling fee. but 10 shipments would equal to jac's handling fee)

ive been pleading for jac. kung kaya lang nila sabayan talaga ang presyo ng msb and online tracking and online cc payment. id definitely shift without a question.

mahal ko ang jac. ang msb medyo kups.. pero importante sa akin online payment kasi and logistics.

My Shopping Box DOES NOT know its business. The Christmas holidays is supposed to be the time for sending gifts, yet MSB does not maintain even a skeleton staff to handle receipts or queries during this time when they're supposed to be working double time. Had a package delivered by Amazon to my MSB U.S. address last Dec. 29, yet 3 days later this hasn't been reflected as received in my MSB account. Called up MSB's local office and who do I get to talk to? A SECURITY GUARD! He says it'll be January 2 when MSB staff will report for work. In the meantime, my package stays in limbo in the U.S. I'll raise he'll if they charge me storage fees!

Many shippers fail to give you consistent amount or fee for your items to be delivered. Kadalasan niyan mga worker nila problema, pag tinatanong mo kung san2 ka din ituturo. Had a bad experienced with msb, they’re pain in the ass. So what i did is to look for online shopping site here in the phils. And my friend  recommended Galleon.ph., ok sila ahh. O0

I tried to test the rates using their calculator, for my:
13 pound (10 x 7.5 x 5 inches)
and
22 pound (16.3 x 14.1 x 5.1 inches)
packages, ang total cost is more than $250

Parang mahal ata ang lalabas vs I get my own box and have it shipped as a balikbayan box which is less than $200 per box with room to spare. I was expecting the same cost lang sa balikbayan box.

So, I received a reply that my package was received and posted on my dashboard. When I checked it, I got shocked on the rates being charged to me for shipping.

Shipment details as follows:

Goods weight: 25 lbs
Volume: 90 lbs
Chargeable weight: 90 lbs
Package Class: Class 1
Air: $539.10
Sea: $269.10

So I replied to their email and inquired, why they are charging me for the volume weight instead of the actual weight of the goods. Has anyone experienced this?

^dang sir Martin! Thats a lot! Sana nagpa suyo ka na lang ng balikbayan box at less than $100!

Could be that the items came in a big box. Thats how they will calculate it.

Happened to me with a couple of purchases from Amazon which is notorious for using very big boxes to ship their items. Buti na lang madali kausap si amazon and they refund back at least $25.

Man, i hope that gets straightened out. If all else fails, have the items returned na lang. MSB can facilitate that.

oh my..that's too much. and yes they do charge by volume weight whichever is higher.. i think it's written in the FAQ.. that's why everytime i make a purchase and i plan using MSB i check/calculate the shipping weight first. if not worth it i don't buy... 90lbs volume weight malaki un sir..

Did anyone had a problem with MSB not shipping item because they said the item is in one of the prohibited goods from their FAQ page? How did you resolve it? I recently had Shapeways 3d print accessories for my custom 6" figures and they said they can't ship gun parts or gun accessories. The only 'gun' thing there was a holster for a gun. My point is it's for a 6" figure. Their FAQ page states replicas are not allowed.. if so then all action figures w guns and holsters are not allowed to be shipped? Am I right? Of course I do not want to buy another figure just to get the holster so I had one 3d printed? Emailed and called their customer service about this. Hope they reconsider

I have also been using MSB until na-enganyo ako sa mga posts sa Amazon thread about the Amazon Global program. So nag-test purchase ako sa Amazon (small item, less than P10k) and had it shipped directly. I ordered the item on March 14 and surprisingly, it was delivered today at my place. Estimated delivery was originally March 28. Ewan ko lang kung parang PAL ang style ng Amazon na overstated ang ETA, pero I am still impressed.

Cost-wise, I'm not sure if shipping via MSB would have cost me more significantly. Pero tama 'yung point na di worth it sa MSB pag multiple items tapos di sila nagco-consolidate. Minor complaint too na mabagal sila mag correct delivery status.

This has convinced me to also abandon MSB and to try Amazon Global for my occasional online purchases for faster shipping.

panay pa-promo ng My shopping box. malaki na siguro nabawas sa customers dahil na din sa hindi na magandang service and with Amazon doing direct shipping.

Trying to revive this thread. I'm looking to buy a keycap grab bag from an online store based in the US. The package itself is not that big and only weighs around 3 lbs. I'm trying to explore other options kasi if yung in-store shipping option, nasa $55 ang singil to delivery here. Are myshippingbox's rates still any good or competitive compared to other similar services?

If I'm not mistaken, shippingcart and kangoexpress are only $7 per pound.
