The 3rd season of Pinoy Big Brother returns on ABS-CBN tonight, with a stupid-sounding "Double Up" subtitle added, which reminds me of chewing gum...so, are we supposed to spit it out? ;D
The main house interior looks really ugly this sesaon, like someone threw up on the walls--or maybe they were going for the Ridley Scott Alien look, while the other house looks garish, like it was designed for colorblind people.
So what's the gimmick this time, aside from having 2 separate Big Brother "houses" and several sets of twins as housemates? Get ready for staged dramas, staged romances, and staged stunts for charity all over again...

As the former #1 Big Brother addict on this board (remember, the screen captures of Chx and Cass kissing that turned up all over the internet were all done by ME, and first appeared on these forums ;D), I've given up on the local franchise completely. I don't even know a single housemate this season, and only watched (completely by accident) about 5 minutes of the launch show.

I saw a few minutes of the new season (also by accident) last week. I caught this fight between a foreign-accented girl and this guy. It was about the girl's adding of black pepper and salt to the frog dish the guy was preparing. How utterly pointless!
Ooh, and that Melissa is just plain irritating.
I never want to chance upon another episode of this show ever again.

Okay, I take back everything I said earlier. I'm now hooked. Well actually, I only like the housemates of House A. They look like they're really having fun. As opposed to those in the other house (mostly composed of the artistahin type), who are generally boring and take things way too seriously.

Actually, I've been watching since Day One. And I'm glad I did, this is the funnest season I've ever watched. Agree, House A is the fun house. House B is the dumb/bitchy house. You should've seen the challenge last night where they present toys, Rocky could probably be the dumbest person in the house. His critique last night of PJ's toy creation was so hilarious for being so stupid.

I just hope everyone in House B gets booted out so we get to see only the housemates of House A. I love the chemistry of the guys in that house. So funny and natural. I was annoyed back then at Melissa, but now she's actually one of my favorites.
The episode I saw last night was about the Quiz Bee challenge. Maybe they're gonna show that toy challenge tonight or on Friday.

The toy challenge last night was hilarious. House A's quips against House B's toys were all hilarious. I dunno if they'll show Rocky's comments about PJ's toys. It's one for the books.
Actually, the quote of the year for me would be Rocky assuring his housemates about the quiz challenge. His "meron kayong stretchmarks (streetsmarts)" is immortal.

Napanood ko nga last night yung "stretchmarks" comment. I actually didn't catch the exact sentence that made his mentioning of "stretchmarks" so out of context and so funny. I thought, since they were talking about intellectual capacity, it must be about "high marks" or something. Well, at least he did seem to have an idea on the right word for it. ;D

In the livestream, the guys from House B(ad) keep making digs at Rica, the transgendered housemate. The kind of things they say against her are very hurtful. But it's never shown on any of the three PBB shows on ABS.

The Melissa-Jason tandem is infinitely more thrilling than the Twilight love triangle.
I was infuriated with Rocky's She-Man comment. Kala mo kagwapuhan. Magpa-braces muna sya bago sya manlait ng iba.
And Patrick's "no entertainment value" comment. Wow. As if House B was bursting with life before the switcheroo.

one of the more interesting editions of pbb, mostly due to the mix of housemates this season. most classes/types of pinoys are represented, which the fans had been clamoring for since season one. medyo nasira lang ng konti sa pagpasok nina rocky and sam, which was seen as an attempt to use the program as a launching pad for the artistahin types again.
at first medyo off din sa akin ang pbbdu esp. during the tasks nung mga twins. parang nangangapa lang ang staff. si melay medyo off pa din noon, parang OA pa ang dating. i started to like it na at the time of princess, tom and delio. the houses started to really grow their distinct characters as we know now after the melay and tom swap though - and the melason tandem hit it off from there. it became even more distinct during the carol-princess visitations naman, where cess got quite the cold reception from HB, while carol was welcomed with open arms and genuine hospitality by HA.
sabi nga sa mga forums, ang gaan-gaan panoorin ng HA. manalo, matalo, life goes on. no bitterness. sabi nga nila sa HB, either House B***es, House Bwisit, High Blood, etc. ;D
sensya na... adik na rin. hehe! (like i dropped by a friend's house one time and the whole family was in front of their 42" lcdtv complete with drinks and chichiria... parang nasa sinehan lang. i guess it is being replicated in a lot of other filipino homes. 10 o'clock na. pbb na!!!). :D
let's just see how things fare with this new "bagyong walay" twist.

i only watch this pbb for one reason and that is kath, the kastila lady, she looks like my wife. sorry if its a self serving statement. i just thought of joining the fun of this thread

My wife never got into PBB at any point of its many editions even when she was handling the official magazine before. But this season, she admitted that she's hooked because of the interesting dynamics of the two houses. Oh, and she got kilig last night because of the Melai-Jason moments especially when BB was grilling them to admit they like each other. Of course, the broadcast ends with Melai admitting she's in love with Jason, to which my wife actually swooned. :)

Interesting why my wife and I are hooked this season: We both hate the original House B members so much. Inis na inis kami ng wife ko sa mga kaartehan nila Yuri, Mariel, at kaengotan nila Patrick at Rocky. Parang season 2 pinanood namin kasi sobrang nakakainis si Wendy at Bruce.

I have to admit, PBB is one of my guilty pleasures on TV although I don't really like the people in House B, both the girls, with the exception of Kath, :D and the boys are kind of annoying. I think they have so many hangups and setbacks unlike sa House A, light lahat, chill and cool lang.

She acts as if she's too fragile, then she starts ranting about the challenge in the confession room with a straight face, revealing to us a dichotomy of a fragile girl and a sly manipulator.

as much as i find yuri irritating at times, especially with her attitude... i was really sad to see her go in this way. i am really quite embarrassed for her. she's not that mean naman to deserve the kind of unusual (and probably unique in pbb history) eviction for this week. i would have preferred hermes, though we can see marami pang load pala ang kakailanganin to vote him out based from the result.

it's simple. people can be mean and judgmental. now that they saw and heard the real rocky, they can relate with him (emotional and how he value relationships), and find him as real as real can be. only proves the saying "don't judge a book by its cover ". ;)

since season 1, sony had been the supplier of the lcd monitors of pbb from the control room, inside the house, and even outside (exterior). we know sony has long eschewed plasmas. ::)

Last week's eviction was the only time I wasn't able to guess who was going to be evicted. But I'm surprised Patrick got the axe. He showed that he had a lot of supporters. Maybe the people voting for him got tired because of saving him.

Any exercise that asks viewers/visitors to vote is all about patronage. That goes for PBB, and also for those Ms. Photogenic vote-in contests for the Ms. Universe, and yes, even Efren Penaflorida's win as CNN's Hero of the Year.

he's one big bully who thinks he can do anything and run away with it coz the housemates are fighting for millions. still, even a game needs sane mechanics. people are people. hindi pinaglalaruan yang mga yan. >:(

After watching last night's episode, I'm a bit disappointed with the way Jason and Melai are handling the task. I like them both, but seeing that they are willing to give up the difficult task on hand and use the friendship route only shows the level of perseverance and determination they may have in real life. The other guys are working hard to focus on and accomplish the task, while they both just keep grumbling about friendship and start to cause confusion among other housemates. In any organization, this behavior can be distracting to others and unproductive.
Friendship of course has to be valued at all times, but then they have to discern whether these "friends" of theirs have the right motives. I don't want to sound cynical, but in the real world, we just can't trust and befriend anyone who suddenly opens oneself up to us.
When Princess came in last night, there was a revelation of their objective in the house and the task. Melissa even pointed out that Princess was merely acting as contrabida with a mission of her own. I wonder why they still haven't figured that out and keep insisting on giving up their task.
Peace to both Jason and Melissa fans. :)

They're eyeing the bigger prize now and not just the weekly budget. Paul Jake's doing the same thing, albeit using a different tactic. I think he also knows that he's locked in as a finalist.
I really think the only question remaining is who's going to be the fourth finalist.

Looks like it. Though I just found out that the Melai-Jason fans have adopted Cath and includes them in their votes. No wonder she never gets evicted. All along I was wondering why she never gets voted out.

Was browsing through other forums and learned that ABS showed the standings of the housemates as of last Tuesday and Melai was third behind Jason and Paul Jake, who was leading. Kaya yata medyo disappointed ang Paul Jake fans that he eventually lost.
