Okay lang. Nothing so fabulous. The only episode I liked was when the football team danced to Single Ladies LOL! The rest were so-so. Tho I wish the glee sounded more black like the glee in Sister Act 2. That would've rocked the house. The white girls' tonal quality is bumblegummy to me.  ;D

Waaaahhh today's episode of Glee is their mid-season finale; show will resume on April 13, 2010 to complete its first season. Why oh why do we need to wait that longggggggggg....

Well when glee eps 1 aired, it took another 2 months before the rest of the season was aired.  Favoritie episode on the present run so far is Ballads. Endless love and Having my baby woohhhoooo.

The mid-season finale really tied up a lot of loose strings. It almost feels like a complete season already.

My guess is, Terri takes over the cheer squad as Sue thinks about her plans for revenge when the season returns...

The 13 episodes have been sleeping in my hard drive for about a month.  Caught my attention after it won the Golden Globe and got nomination for SAG (it just won) so I started watching during the weekend.

Now Im hooked.  Pretty entertaining.   :)

Jane Lynch(Coach Sue Sylvester) delivers a deliciously evil performance every episode! That's why I was laughing so hard when I saw that episode where she fell for that news anchor and she was smiling while dancing with Will Schuster. It was unnerving!
And that episode where she addresses her journal as if it was a real person!
And that line "...here I am, about to turn thirty..." LOL!

Nakasuwerte Jollibee dun. I'm thinking the producers were just on the lookout for a big open area in a mall that didn't have readily recognizable fast food brands like McDonald's or BK.  ;D

But after weeks of disappointment in this show (I have not liked any episode [story-wise] since it returned from the hiatus), I really enjoyed this week's episode. Good story advancement, great performances. I'd expect no less from Joss Whedon.

from Yahoo TV Blog:

International Singer Charice Joins 'Glee'
TV Guide | Monday, June 21, 2010, 6:34 PM

Uh-oh! Rachel Berry's got a new rival on "Glee."

Charice will recur next season on the dramedy, a show rep says.

The 18-year-old international singing star will play a foreign exchange student with vocal chops that will give Rachel (Lea Michele) some serious competition, according to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the news.

Charice rose to fame on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" after a video of her performing "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" went viral on YouTube when she was 16. She released her self-titled debut album in May.

Not that I have anything against her but I think Glee's not gonna be needing her. I mean, she's a Pinay and I should be proud but let's face it we don't want Charice on Glee, or I don't want her. IDK!

I wonder how big her face would appear next to the current lead stars.  It looked pretty big when she came out to perform after Michael Buble.

BTW, I like this girl - that Im kinda worried.

Really?

She can sing, right? If she can act as well then why not? If she bombs then that should be the lesson but let's not condemn the kid when she hasn't even shown what she can do for the show yet.

Besides, she already showed her worth performing internationally alongside some pretty big names who have nothing but words of praise for her. I just don't get the resistance, that typical Pinoy mentality or otherwise.

I think Charice's multi shot on Glee is a total mismatch. I'm sorry to her fans but I simply don't like her. She is no card to match on Glee. I think Lea Salonga would be a much more better preference for GLEE but Charice? NO WAY. Bad Vibes talaga. Imagine watching Glee then seeing Charice?! I simply just don't like her. Apologies to her fans but that's my opinion and based on opinions nothing is correct. Am I right?

Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison are both veterans of Broadway so they're used to singing live. Kevin McHale (Artie) was part of a boy band. And the Glee cast have performed live in front of people quite a few times too.

;D Glee is not just some US show. Compared to a Hollywood superstar, the show's an A-lister, a box-office phenomenon. So we should all be happy and proud that a Filipino is finally making a huge difference in that show. And people claiming to be morally upright should cut her some slack. If she had botox, then let her be, as if cosmetic surgery is taboo in Hollywood. She has money now and wants to be pretty so let's give it to her.

Ewan ko ba sa karamihan ng mga Pilipino. Nung panget ang bata, hindi pinapansin. Ngayong sikat na at pilit na gustong gumanda, nilalait naman. Right now, proud ang bata maging Pinoy but for how long? The kid will eventually consider living in the US for good coz after all the reason she's a star now is because some Americans like Oprah Winfrey, David Foster and Ellen DeGeneres looked past what lies on the surface and saw, which Pinoys failed and refused to see, that she could be a star!

So kahit hindi ako fan, Go Charice!

But she's barely 18.

I think she's already pretty enough as it is. Problema sa Pinoy, ang concept nila ng maganda ay kailangan mestiza, slim, matangos ang ilong at mukhang Kano. Look at the proliferation of skin whitening creams and the fact we make still make fun of black people here for being black. I think Vicky Belo convinced Charice that she's not pretty enough to act with the Americans because she looks too Filipino.

I agree wholeheartedly. Most people I've heard from and spoken to who have negative opinions about Charice would always mention something about her appearance, her face, her perceived status (jologs, lowbrow, pick your social insult) but never any opinion about her voice. It's always the shallow parts they pick on, never the talent. Her getting botox is complete b*ll$h|t -- but hey, nangyari na, eh.

I'm not surprised. We Filipinos tend to celebrate mediocrity anyway. Just look at the no-talent waste of space winners of all those teen talent shows on the big networks. The only thing those hacks are good for is posing nude at FHM or wearing only a cup at a "fashion" show once they hit 18 years of age.

I've said before that I'm not exactly a fan of the kid. But I'm in awe of her accomplishments and happy that a kid who's never given a chance in her own country is at least being appreciated in another.

May talent naman yung bata. Totoong talent. Suportahan sana natin.

But alot of Pinoys don't see it that way. In the real world and without youtube, Oprah etc., do you think Charice would make it big here in the Philippines? Absolutely NEVER! A lot of Filipinos are enamoured to anything white, tisoy and half breeds. To them, YUN ANG MAGANDA! So meron nang set standard of beauty. In fact, they want to become White for Christ's sake. Blame should also be shared by TV networks, media and advertising companies for encouraging, promoting and perpetuating prejudice and bigotry.

So who can blame the kid now? Still, to Charice's mind, despite the killer voice, sadly, pangit pa rin ako to many Pinoys. So sad.....

And yes, dapat ipako sa krus si Vicky Belo. Totoo lang, she has corrupted the child's mind. And she has no right to speak about beauty dahil di hamak na mas may mukha si Charice sa kanya.

Season Premiere: 9/21/10

How do you top a smash-hit first season that scored 19 Emmy nominations, two Gold albums and more than 6 million iTunes downloads? For creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy, the answer isn't necessarily more of the same. The second season will rely less on stunt casting (though Javier Bardem is confirmed for an episode, and we'll see the return of Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenowith) and focus more on the core characters.

Heather Morris and Naya Rivera, who play the delightfully dense Brittany and fierce Santana, are welcome additions to the regular cast this year, and Morris will even get her chance in the spotlight for the anxiously awaited (by everyone but Matthew Morrison, that is) Britney Spears episode titled "Brittany Britney." Other storylines that have us humming are a second Madonna episode, a Rocky Horror episode and a Super Bowl episode themed around a single performer yet to be announced.

I was thinking bout Charice's name on the show, Sunshine Corazon. I think that's a tribute or something to the late Tita Cory no? Her name's Corazon tapos trademark nya yung color of sunshine.  ::)

Saw the episode.  She still need to learn to act.  She's too stiff and she tries so hard to sound American when her character is a Filipino.  Also she doesn't enunciate.  I barely understand what she's saying.  Her singing is improving though.  It's still a bit showy, I prefer her to express more and not just to impress.  Also enough with the hand movements.  She's still young she will mature as a performer.

Managed to catch Charice and Lea Michelle singing Lady Gaga and Beyonce's duet song. Got a bit of goosebumps and the glasses do somewhat make Charice's face less siopaoish. However, i still don't appreciate the show.

Who does a one year old show think they are replacing lyrics from a musical that has been existing for over 30 years? That's disrepectful! And casting Mercedes as Frank N Furter was a big joke!

My daughter is 9, she was watching together with her mom. Even with parental guidance , when those kind of scene just happens it's too late for the parent to not let their child see it, does anyone expect to see a scene like that to happen in Glee? I can watch together with my daughter let's say Camp Rock, I can sleep thinking the show is safe and not expect to see a girl to girl or boy to boy kissing.

My take is, even an 18yr old individual can watch this thinking or expecting to be entertained in a family oriented or wholesome entertainment, but when you see those things, the show ought to be Rated R already. Imagine an episode with Charice when the entire nation from all ages watching then they suddenly see 2 boys kissing?

Moving forward, it just saddens me that after months of following this series, my daughter, including my wifey suddenly felt bad and opted to stop watching it just because of that unacceptable scene.

Well, is daughter aware of the existence of homosexuals and that Kurt Hummel is a HOMOSEXUAL character? If she is, then I don't know what's wrong with talking to your daughter about it instead of shielding her from the realities of life. There are gays and there are straights, no big deal.

As for myself, I say: WELL, IT'S ABOUT F-ING TIME! I'm surprised it took this long for a boy-boy kiss in this show.

I dont think those kinds of scenes are suitable for 9 year olds, same na hindi rin suitable yung scene where the 2 cheerleaders were canoodling, or perhaps those scenes were the cheerleaders were getting high on the dentist chair.

Pero personally, mas na-shock ako sa recent show ng X Factor UK where they showed the background dancers's boobs getting touched by other dancers. - that was live TV.

Why is a kissing scene between two boys (or two girls) any way less approprate than a kissing scene between a boy and a girl? I'm sure children raised in gay/lesbian households would think this isn't a big deal.

I very well know that she can identify a gay with a not. However what we are talking about here is the act of a boy to boy kissing. At her age...she is not expected that there is such a thing....and I don't think IT'S ABOUT F-ING TIME for her to see such things.  ;) At her age of 9, I think shielding her from this acts is still appropriate. My daughter is studying at a Catholic school and same sex kissing will never be acceptable to them. Not because this things happens now is that we will have to embrace it. When I was grownig up, I don't remember seeing similar acts to what I watch on TV, now if one will be exposed early that such thing happen and lets you think it is acceptable... then I wouldnt be surprised that one day they will try it and be les or gay one day.

Oh and if your daughter is any way, shape or form interested in the arts, well, she better get used to homos.

Oh yes..she is very much into it. Im pretty sure homo friends and community will come some day and I dont have a problem with that. I love my homo friends and I like them being around.  ;)

Simply because it is normal to see a boy and a girl kiss. When we attend lets say a wedding and the bride and groom kiss..we do not cover the eyes of our children. C'mon @Klaus....I do understand your point and I do not have any problem either with what you want to happen, but being a parent...we have a different POV and belief on how one's children should be brought up.  ;)

Okay ....Glee, initially it was intended for the youngs right?...similar to High School Musical, it was only later I believe that a PG advisory was flashed on the screen?
Title: Re: Glee
Post by: Klaus Weasley on Nov 11, 2010 at 07:50 PM
It was intended for teen audiences. It's very much a far cry from High School Musical. Right off the bat, there are darker edges, there's bullying, there's teen pregnancy, there's homosexuality and a scene where a teenage boy prematurely ejaculates in a hot tub...and that's just the first season. It WAS created by Ryan Murphy, the man behind Nip/Tuck. I don't know you mistook this for kiddie material until you saw the boy-boy kiss.

No, from what I read, the first two episodes were Beatles-inspired, and Finn was still "alive" (although absent onscreen) during those episodes.

‘Glee’ Star Naya Rivera Found Dead at 33

Naya Rivera, best known for her groundbreaking role as Santana Lopez on the hit Fox musical series “Glee,” has died. She was 33.

Her body was identified at Lake Piru in Ventura County, Calif., the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed at a press conference on Monday. Sheriff Bill Ayub said there was no indication of suicide or foul play.

Rivera was first identified as the missing person involved in a possible drowning at Lake Piru on July 8 after her 4-year-old son was found alone in their rented boat. The search and rescue operation continued for five more days amid low water visibility and numerous obstacles on the lake bottom.

“He and Naya swam in the lake together,” Ayub said about Rivera and her son. “It was during that time that her son described being helped onto the boat by Naya. … He told investigators he looked back and saw her disappear under the surface of the water.” Later, he added, “We believe that she mustered enough energy to get her son back on the boat, but not enough to save herself.”
