We hooked up 32AV700 with PS3 and played some games. The picture was pretty good with no motion blur.

We invite you to come to our shop and audition this TV for yourself. Try to demo and compare this TV with other TVs on display. Feel free to post your impressions here about the 32AV700.  :D

im torn between 32AV700 & 32EX300. Pareho kasi sila may feature na signal booster w/c is importante para sa akin kasi i'll be using this mostly on TV viewing using analog signal. Advantage ng 32EX300 is my PiP feature siya & mas malakas speaker niya w/c is 10W x 2 as compated w/ 5W x 2 ng 32AV700. May promo din kasi ang
Sony na bundled w/ Sony home theater yung LCD add lang ng 4k. I need your input on this guys. Sana may mga feedbacks pa from users of both units.

when we say signal booster, para ba ito duon sa mga nasa fringe areas at mahina ang tv signal?

o kahit nasa malakas na signal area ka, considered pa din na maganda yung may built-in signal booster?

Irregardless of the cable signal--be it weak or strong, the 32AV700 boosts the TV signal reception that sends quality picture for your viewing pleasure.  :D

Full HD means that the display has 1080 lines and it can show a 1080 image at its native resolution. HD Ready means that the screen is a 720 line display, or higher, but not reaching to the level of 1080. At 720 line, the TV is recognized as HD TV.  :D

I'm torn among the following: a RV600, RV700, AV/CV700 or Sony EX400 that will be used for PS3 and movie watching. Can you give comments. My thinking is AV/CV700 gives value for money but only HD Ready while RV600/700 and Sony EX400 are full HD. The Sony was really very good when paired with the PS3 but the Tosh offers a signal booster and might be better for cable viewing (although I rarely watch cable). The RV600 measure up with the Sony when I viewed them side-by-side. Anybody has comments on these choices?

Signal booster, is not something you'd really need since you hardly watch cable. For the PS3, the RV600 looks good but it blurs a bit during FPS games. If the PS3 is your main purpose then I'd go for the Sony.

Just bought one today (32AV700) at Western Mktg appliance center for php20k. Needed a unit with a very good cable auto signal booster. To be used mostly for cable TV viewing. Since this is a multisystem unit, auto channeling is very tricky. Need to manually select the TV system afterwards for each detected channels. Have to set them to "M" for NTSC 3.58. Have to set to 'skip' also for several wrongly detected noisy channels. Have to make sure to turn on the autobooster for each channel also.

By the way, does the 32AV700 and 32CV700 have the same picture quality specs? As the CV model have a rotating base and PIP, which the AV doesn't have. There is a price difference of about php3k between the two.

Couldn't go to SNS to get them at a cheaper price. Didn't know that they are selling 32CV700 for just php20k. Actually, just assisted a friend to buy this unit (32AV700).

I have bought the 32cv700 last tues., coz the wifey likes the tempered glass stand, swivel base  and pip. :D

I think the specs are the same w/ 32AV700. I did not have to manually select the sys and turn signal-booster for every channel. I just turned the booster on and sys to auto, then  auto-tuned for channels. "skip"  is set individually.

The unit I got did not have the plastic covering the tv frame. Does the AV700 have them? Madami kasi alikabok pumapasok sa bahay... Now I know why my sis didn't remove them on her panasonic. I used to make fun of them...Now I know.

No plastic covering on 32AV700 as well. I got rumbled system on auto mode. Some detected as I, and B/G, only a few on M. That's why I have to changed them manually to M instead for NTSC.

i bought a Toshiba AV700 last Saturday at SnS. (18K) So far the unit is really performing well. The auto tuner is a bit hard to figure out since it is checking also channels that are available on free air-TV and you have to manually tune channels to M for NTSC. but other than that, everything is alright. I use it for my PS3 and when on Game mode...the PQ is great. no blurs even for FPS games.

great unit for entry level HD users...like me!!! and 4 HDMI ports...beat that. btw, it can be set up as a PC monitor just be sure to have a HDMI port on your PC to really get the best view.

Just a correction. Being only HD-ready is only true for the 32" av and cv. The 40cv700 is full HD. Not sure about the bigger av's though.

Well kanya kanya yang preference. Halimbawa, while plasmas can give deeper blacks, i won't go for it because of its excessive power consumption and potential for image burning. Pero I guess each of us can choose his / her own poison :)

My choice is now down to 32RV700 and the LG 32LD460.  Maybe you guys can help me decide...

TV will mostly be used for PS3 gaming and watching stuff off of an NMT (Cinematube).

Anyone know the 6/12 month option for these two at SnS?

Happy with the RV700.. Just had some trouble in auto-tuning channels from Destiny cable. Pero after doing manual tuning, ok na.

Sana, there's a way para naka-set na agad sa NTSC pag nag-a-auto-tune. Sana din, may way para naka-ayos na agad yung channel setup. Currently kasi, mixed up yung channels e. I needed to manually fix the position.

Thanks Sir Vic of Sns! :)

Hi Guys
I am new here. I replaced my tosh 24pb1 with a tosh 32av700 from Sns last Dec 24
It is a very nice tv however I noticed that the colors are too warm even if I set the color temperature to COLD
Is this a natural trait of toshiba lcd tv's?
My current settings are :
Picture mode : Dynamic User
Backlight - 100
Contrast - 90
Brightness - 80
Colour - 50
Tint - 0
Sharpness - 0
Black white level - off
Color temp - cold
Appreciate if you could share your settings with your 32av700. Thanks in advance guys!

@thirdie88

Hi, Toshiba by nature is not as bright or as flashy as a Samsung or an LG, but it does bleed out more natural colors.

First off, I need to know what are you watching? Is it regular TV? Or DVD, or Blu-ray?

If you're using a DVD player from Pioneer or a PS3 Blu-Ray player; do switch off the FULL-RGB option and go to Limited RGB or just plain RGB or Component. Full RGB ranges give you darker pictures for this particular TV (Nearly all save for the high-end Sony brands).

You could also switch off any "Auto-Contrast" adjustments of your TV, I don't have a 32AV700, so I don't know what it's called with your model specifically. I'll check my 40AV700 later and see from there.

How is this player connected? You may want to try out those HDMI based DVD players, they'll give you crisper pictures esp. when you upscale them to 720p, which I believe is the native rez of your TV. You may also want to stay away from the "Dynamic mode", they don't give you the best pictures anyway. Stay with "Normal" or "Cinema".

My player is connected using the yellow cord from the dvd player to video input on the TV.
I see. I use dynamic mode so that is why i dont get accurate colors
Is the Samsung dvd-h1080r a good buy? Its a dvd player with upscaling up to 1080.

For DVD players, I'd go for a Toshiba XDE500 or a Pioneer 420v. Check them out! Tested them extensively and they're pretty much great buys.

Hi Sir Carlo,
I took your advice and I bought the Pioneer DV-420 at Sns recently and very much satisfied with it.
It is Definitely better than the previous dvd player i had.
I was already able to adjust the tv settings to my preferred color settings and I LOVE IT!
Just did a comparison using the pioneer dv-420 connected to Samsung 32B350 and then Toshiba 32Av700 and here is what i noticed

Samsung 32B350 - Pale colors with no noise on picture and no motion blur
Toshiba 32AV700 - Bright and more vivid colors but with slight noise and very slight motion blur

Overall - I still prefer the toshiba except for the remote hehe which looks and feels cheap!

Kudos to you Sir Carlo!

Sir Carlo,
Sorry if I am asking a lot.
Just a quick question. I already bought the pioneer dv420. Why is there noise on the toshiba 32av700 but not on the samsung 32b350 when i tested the player on both tv's?
I played with the Noise reduction feature of toshiba but there is still some noise
I am connected via HDMI and I tried upscaling to 720p,1080i and 1080p but noise is still there
are toshiba's really like this? i also looked at the toshiba 32av700 in SNS and malls and there really is some noise

Pioneer DV-420 Settings :
RGB not full RGB
Resolution : 720p

I've been lurking around this site for awhile now cause I'm looking for a cheap LCD for my room. I'm looking at the LG 32LD460 & the Toshiba 32RV700 (what the diff between this and 32AV700?). I know that the 32RV700 is recommended because of the PQ but I'll be using it primarily for gaming. I want the Toshiba but if the refresh rate of the LG is better, I might end up getting that. Thanks!

Good pm!

I just noticed something on our AV700 while I was watching Tangled 720p. There are vague vertical lines that appear specially during scenes with bright colors. I noticed them while watching it at close range. If you look at his nose, you can see them lines. Is this a cause of concern, a factory defect maybe? Is this covered by warranty from SNS? thanks!

masters, may difference po ba ang 32AV700E & 32AV700? what I saw in AV Surfer Ayala-Cebu is a 700E w/ 18K price. parallel something daw yung 700 sa ibang appliance store w/c is priced @ 16K. Meaning hindi daw covered sa Philippines ang warranty nito... confused lang ako.  ??? Thank you.

Sir Carlo & other LCD veterans, would you consider the Toshiba 32" AV700 worth the price over the Panasonic 32" C4x? We are on a tight budget and this TV will be used for analog cable & antenna TV by old people.

I've read that the Panasonic 32" C3x is almost as good but no more stocks, while its successor the C4x is being reported as not that good compared to the C3x...

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I think Toshibas are always a good choice especially the older models like AV700.

sir carlo and other experts.  may i ask help from experts here on what will be the best setting for my 40av700 which I bought last year from Sns.  I am using a Sony bdp-s370 bluray player.  Setting for watching bd and dvd.  many thanks.

also, i heard from some discussions in pdvd about firmware update? do I need to update the software in my bd player which I have been using since Oct. 2010.  so far it has been playing all the bds which i bought via pdvd.

many thanks.
