I'm half surprised this series hasn't been mentioned here yet (though I only made it's acquaintance recently myself).
Sherlock
(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ZmD3wILRL._SL500_AA300_.jpg)
"It is a contemporary update of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes detective stories, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson. Una Stubbs appears as their landlady Mrs. Hudson, and Rupert Graves as DI Lestrade."
Watching the first 15 minutes of this series, I was deathly afraid Sherlock was going to give Dr. Who a run for his money as my favorite Brit hero. Imagine my shock then when I discover that none other than the Doctor's head writer, Steven Moffat, is this show's co-creator. Amazing!
-
I heard somewhere there is some difficulty getting season two up and running because of the high production costs.
And look out for Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfriend making an appearance on episode 2.

I read it's because of scheduling issues since Moffat is writing episodes for the current season of Doctor Who. Series 2 returns with three new 90-minute episodes in Autumn 2011.
-
Love the show. Steven Moffat can do no wrong.
-
For those who haven't had the chance to see this bloody brilliant update of Sherlock Holmes, AXN Beyond will be airing it this May 6, 2011.
Sherlock is certainly one of the best shows I've seen this year, with awesome performances by the two leads. I regret that I just discovered it a couple of months ago. It's too bad that "seasons" for this series only have 3 episodes each, but at 90 minutes per episode, you can think of them as 3 movies instead.
-
I downloaded season 1 (3 eps... you gotta love them brits) and I have to say I'm hooked after watching eps 1. Thanks for the heads up ;D.
-
Empire magazine reports that Season 2 of Sherlock will adapt A Scandal In Bohemia, The Hound Of The Baskervilles and The Final Problem. "Season two is what we're calling 'The Woman, The Hound and The Fall’ trilogy," Sherlock creator/writer Mark Gatiss explained. Gatiss also mentioned that filming on Season 2 was only "a week and a bit" away from completion, and will premiere in early 2012.
-
Series 2 of Sherlock returns to the BBC on New Year's Day, January 1, 2012 ;D
-
Just finished watching episode 1 of the 2nd season..... hay can't wait for more....
-
Excellent season premiere.

Well parang 6 episodes na rin siya kasi 1 episode is 1 and a half hours which is equivalent to 2 normal episodes na 43 minutes....
-
Fantastic Series 2 opener...looking forward to the next two episodes. I really like the way this series integrates modern tech throughout each episode. ;D
-
just finished episode 2... the hounds of baskerville
-
what a bloody fine way to end the season.... season 3 airs early 2013 due to the actors shooting the hobbit and other commitments... preety darn long way to wait... hay....
-
The 1st season has got an unaired Episode 0 - same plot as Episode 1 with some differences (including some of the actors).
-
All family and friends who have watched the 1st 2 seasons have all been sherlocked.
3 eps per season is really bitin because it's too brilliant.

Spoiler, hehe.

Ipagpatawad mo.
I thought it was love. Nagniningning na mata and tumitibok tibok na puso - yon pala ang English explanation ng kilig. hehehe.
Spoiler, hehe.
-
I didn't realize that even Season 2 would only have 3 episodes. Darn. :'(
But it's a fantastic series. I've been recommending it to everyone.
I love Moriarty and Irene Adler.
-
just watched this recently.
absolutely brilliant show. though moriarty is a bit OA.
i loved how in seasone 2 episode 2's hound of baskerville, they cast with the werewolf from Being human.
any theories as to how he faked his own death?
-
any theories as to how he faked his own death?
My guess is that it might involve Sherlock's homeless network, which probably includes the guy on the bicycle that bumped into Watson as he was running towards Sherlock's fallen body.
-
^undoubtedly and also molly. but the show creators said we missed something. something out of character for sherlock. but it did look like him falling off the building right? hirap!
-
Benedict Cumberbatch explains how Sherlock survived last season's finale:

Just bought season 1 and 2 bluray version for 19.99 each. Can't wait to check it out

Teaser trailer for Series 3:

-
the agonizing wait...
-
Great series, though I admit that it's too fast for me. I had to pause sometimes, replay some scenes. But I have no problem completing a marathon of all episodes. I don't understand why some fans hate Adler, I hope she comes back for season 3. Scandal in Belgravia is my favorite episode so far. Also, I've read most explanations on why Moriarty killed himself, but personally I still feel dissatisfied he'd do that.
-
Kailan pa ba balik nila? :(
-
started watching last monday and i'm in the last episode of series 2. parang mas gusto ko pa si Sherlock dito sa series kesa sa Robert Downey, Jr. version.
-
A prelude to Season 3, the mini-episode "Many Happy Returns," is now out--a must-watch! ;D

Only four more days before season 3 is shown in the UK.
"The series, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, will return with new episodes on Jan. 1 in the UK and on Jan. 19 in the United States. A mini-episode, "Many Happy Returns," was released online Tuesday (Dec. 24)."

Season 3 episode 1 (The Empty Hearse) is out!
-
The Empty Hearse was a truly fantastic episode--it was like being reunited with old friends, and there were brilliant touches of humor strewn throughout.
Bilbo's John's reaction to Sherlock's reappearance was priceless. ;D
(http://i.imgur.com/9ewaCw8.jpg)
Casting Martin Freeman's real-life wife, Amanda Abbington, as Mary was perfect, same for Benedict Cumberbatch's real parents appearing as Sherlock's parents.
-
Just saw ep1......Welcome back Holmes!!!

-
2nd episode is out.
-
Ang slow ko. Kung hindi ko pa nakita yung internet meme, di ko mapapansin yung joke about Mary's boyfriend and the " I've moved on" line.
-
The recent episode is like a series special. Its a different side of Holmes.
-
I didn't like the change in focus this season. All the cases took a backseat to the personal relationships of the characters. It was more balanced in previous years. This year, the mysteries they solved all just felt like filler.
Another year or so until next time...
-
and then the season is finished. i think the season was more of a filler overall. i agree that cases were a bit dry but they did do good job in character building.
-
Season 1 pa lang kme and we have been Sherlocked! The best to! Ganda!

My thoughts on Steve Moffat's Sherlock (http://criticafterdark.blogspot.com/2014/02/sherlock-season-3.html)

Steven Moffat has confirmed that the Sherlock Christmas Special will take place in Victorian London, and is a stand-alone episode that doesn't connect with the regular series (see photo above).
Moffat said:
"The special is its own thing; we wouldn’t have done the story we’re doing, and the way we’re doing it, if we didn’t have this special. It’s not part of the run of three episodes. So we had this to do it--as we could hardly conceal--it’s Victorian. Mark Gatiss and me, we wanted to do this, but it had to be a special, it had to be separate entity on its own. It’s kind of in its own little bubble."
No specific airdate has been announced yet, but the special is widely expected to air in the UK this December.

BBC just released the official photo for the Sherlock Christmas Special:

^ very nice. It would be great if they can do an entire season/s set in the 19th century :)
-
The Christmas Special gets a title and an airdate:
Sherlock: The Abominable Bride will air on January 1, 2016.
-
Just watched Sherlock: The Abominable Bride--it was delightful, and to tell more would spoil the entire thing ... the obliquity of the ecliptic indeed! ;D 8)
-
Ganda! Looking forward to the next series.

Season 4 trailer:

-
Sherlock is back! Awesome ep1 of new season 4! Hanep!
-
That was a good first episode, somewhat sad when you consider that Martin Freeman and Amanda Abbington divorced just last week, before Christmas.
-
kalokohan naman na isang super spy can't just push sherlock out of the way. Kaya iwasan yung mga bala ng isa pang super spy pero isang old secretary...
-
Nahilo ako sa last episode and Toby Jones looked like he borrowed his teeth from Wayward Pines.
-
Just saw Season 4, episode 1. It's fantastic, but very very sad. :-(
-
Yes, need a 2nd viewing para ma grasp :-). Dami kong tanong rin, pero hayop talaga script writers dito.
Nahilo ako sa last episode and Toby Jones looked like he borrowed his teeth from Wayward Pines.
-
Saw episode 2 last night. A little too high-concept but still satisfying. The twist in the end is just jawdroppingly good!
-
Di pala pwede tumambay tambay si Sherlock dito sa Pinas baka ma EJK sya!
-
I am now wondering why would she target John Watson in the first place (train) , let shoot him?
-

I'm thinking it's like a "know thy enemy" thing. Get close to him, then strike when the opportunity is right. Eurus knows that John is important to Sherlock, so hurting him will give her an edge.
The scene where Mrs. Hudson opens her car trunk was hilarious. ;D
-
this is such a good series. too bad they produce very few episodes. will this be the last season?
-
That episode was so twisted (literally for me). But I anticipated what Sherlock would do with the gun as if you've seen it before in some films.
-
Slightly disappointed with the last episode. Too overly complicated and indulgent. Still worth a look though.
-
Did I miss something in the beginning of the episode? How did Watson survive being shot by Eurus?
-

Watson mentioned that she shot him with a tranquilizer dart ... I always use subtitles every time I watch any British TV series--It's hard to understand what they're saying sometimes, LOL (lalo na yung Ripper Street) ;D

Ah, thanks. I reviewed it and it was Sherlock who mumbled it. Di ko lang pala narinig :D
-
just watched the finale. the showdown was kind of a let down but you can see it was written very well. with the ending it is unsure if it will be back for another season.
