I can't believe VIVA done this again. Fantasia is one of my favorite films of all time. Screw VIVA, another classic is butchered once again.

It's just that Viva released the 2 films separately while the R1 is a single package of the 2 films. I think this is more of a money-making move than an intent to "butcher" the films.

Agreed. It's the strategy of getting MORE money, but they didn't hurt/do something wrong with the movies

I saw Buried on a store lately....quickly bought and its watchable. Plus, it has good quality and its on widescreen (If i'm not mistaken).

Nope. You'd got it wrong. It's FULLSCREEN, DVD5. And while watchable on a smaller screen TV, it's not as good as it could be if it's DVD9. Your post just cost me Php 375. :(

even Tron is just at 375, and some other new titles

i checked, it's 6.29 GB, so it's a DVD9

still have to check the VQ, i hope it's farm from those infamous Viva logo-ed series

Despite that I love this movie, The lack of Bonus Features on the P375 turns me off to buy this movie on DVD. Its only Bonus feature are the storybook openings.(It's not VIVA's fault, Disney na ang may kasalanan nito. They put all of the best bonus features on Blu-ray nowadays) Dapat nga 299 na presyo niyan eh.

Will buy this on Blu-ray instead.

It's sold for P750 and it's a one disc DVD. Surprisingly, It has a decent amount of BONUS MATERIAL considering Disney is limiting most of its bonus content so people would move to Blu-ray disc format.

Actually, from the cover art... NOPE. Didn't bother to check out the back, though. I have a locally purchased DVD (can't remember which one) that didn't specify unrated on the cover, but did so in the small print in the product description on the back of the label. An odd thing to do.

Are these R3 versions? Astro sold these several years ago locally but you had to place a reservation because of limited stocks. Got my R1 extended edition of ROTK from them that way. A friend also got his R1 extended edition of FOTR right off Astro's shelf.

P899 each is an amazing value price if they're all R1 versions. The only advantage of the BD version of these is the ramped up visuals, sound and Costa Botes documentaries. Still, these three are must-haves.

I believe you're right. The box itself is made of thin cardboard, unlike the former's hard faux-leatherbound cardboard box. But the printing looks good, not so much for the back that lists all the special features and specs. I think whether it's R3 or R1 won't be a factor, though, because if it retains the same good quality as the original extended edition releases then they're still great value for those who haven't had the chance to own the trilogy set.

Got this earlier. It's hard to tell if it's the edited or unedited version because of the same run times. Just have to watch it. If you hear Adele cursing up a storm onstage (which she famously did) then we got the "unedited" version ;D

Just watched the DVD. It should be the "unedited version" as Adele does curse a lot.
