2017 has been great for us!!! Finally upgraded my 55" Myview LED to a branded one... a SAMSUNG 4k tv.
Since my old posts consists of Phobucket pictures, inupdate ko na lang with latest picture of my HT setup.

Sa tingin ko, kapag sinimulan kana ng mga mang kukulam dito eh hindi masusunod ang schedule mo sa pag upgrade ng AVR...bago pa mag end ng 2011 eh mag a-upgrade kana! hehehehe....

I think it will sound & look better if you put the L/R speakers on same level of the center speaker. Just tilt them up a bit to direct the sound to your ear level... :)

sir, lahat ng mga bagay na meron tau, nangaling din sa umpisa......i have one friend who told me before,baket ka magpost sa pdvd, ang gaganda ng mga gamit nila dun.balewala gamit mo.i told him, nde q makikipagkumpetensya...i just want to share what ever i have so they could help me upgrade, give me comments positive man or negative...
just take it one at a time, mageenjoy ka din someday sa mga efforts na gagawin mo,nagawa mo and gagawin pa in the future. ;)
ganun din dati ung fronts q, bitin sa tweeter kaya q naglagay ng extra. and i admit, it gives a hissing sound,talagang makalantsing... ;D

ok na rin yan sir, maganda yang NMT....kumpleto na rin kasi pwedeng music tsaka movies pwede rin sa mga pictures hehe, mahirap lang magdownload ng movies kung preferred mo yung mga HD qualities, malalaki kasi yung files.
so far ok naman yung mix-amp and speakers, satisfied na satisfied yung cousin ko, alam ko under construction na yung resto bar nila, we'll let you know sir kung open na para makapunta ka hehe. :D

I need some suggestions po
Im planning to upgrade my HT setup, BUT I'm on a tight budget of 25,000 pesos, and mga December pa ako magkakapera. So need some inputs para alam ko kung saan aabot ang budget ko if possible akong mag upgrade or not.
Eto po usage ko 50% music (dami kong cd's sa house) & 50% movies/concert (bluray/dvd & NMT)
Kasi po kung di aabot yung budget ko, baka mag avail na lang muna ako ng Hi-fi mini component for my music needs, and keep ko muna yung HTiB kong Samsung for movie's
option A) I saw Sir Rico Mambo's Onkyo's HT-S300 (7.1 HTiB) set for 24,000 pesos.
- is this good for playing a 2 channel music?
- will the bass of the music rely mainly on the sub? Or the fronts will help also in driving bass sounds?
option B) SnS' Onkyo S3400 (5.1 HTib) brandnew at 25,000 pesos.
- same question as stated above
option C) Also I saw Electrohaus' Onkyo 605 or 606 receiver @ 13k/14k
So what do you suggest's I take po if ever?
The Onkyo's HTiB or the Onkyo's receiver + speakers (what brands compliments it?)
lowest priced surround & center I saw was Wharfedale's WH2 @3,800 php c/o SnS
So I need pa 1 set of surrounds & a floor stander/bookshelf spkr for fronts and an active sub.
Will my 25 thou be sufficient for an upgrade? ???

Pustahan tayo sir, lalagpas ka sa budget?! ako budget ko for my recent upgrade SG$2000 lang...pero umabot ako ng 2.8k! :-X
Di naman ako expert, sakin lang, with your current setup, na experience mo na mag HTIB, so if I were you, subukan mo na bumili ng separates..kahit entry level na amp lang muna, tapos kung wla ka pang budget for speakers, gamitin mo muna ung sa HTIB mo :) sinasabi ko sayo, malaki difference ;)

Sir ok yung onkyo 606, ipon ipon muna...malaki talaga difference kung yung mga separates ang mabibili mo. bantay bantay ka lang sa marketplace at makakakuha ka ng good deal, kung minsan very good pa. kahit entry level lang, with your place....nakow..sigurado masa-satisfied ka sir. try to get an AVR muna at fronts then ipon muna ng konti uli para sa center then sub tapos surround! (maraming magagandang pre-owned sa marketplace). tapos.....YAHOOOOO!! ang sarap nang manood lalo hehe :D
Pustahan tayo sir, lalagpas ka sa budget?!

just like what other would say if limited budget, buy first the most important components your present budget can afford, like a decent amp, sub, and a pair of speakers for a 2.1 setup. i'm sure another budget will come along for you to complete the system. mas fulfilling yun sa end pagnabuo mo yung setup na di mo tinipid, kahit paunti unti.

Ano po mas ok yung Onkyo 606 ni electrohaus @ 14k or yung Onkyo SR580 @ 15.5k ni rico mambo?
And what entry level fronts ang pwede ko muna pantawid sa Onkyo? Na good for listening music...pero mga 10k lang sana...mayron kaya?
Can I use my Samsung center & surround speakers ng HTiB ko pansamantala? Di kaya masira yun?

if limited budget po kayo, try a 2nd hand avr like electrohauz and sir nogie's avr.. nakita ko lang sa market place.. madami po kayo pagpipilian.. good luck.. ;)

Receiver ka muna sir like what i did, then use mo muna temporarily yun mga small speakers mo till maka kuha ka ng good deals for your floorstanders sir para d ka magsisi sa dulo ;) Set to small mo nalang muna yun sa crossover ng receiver if ever gamitin mo mga small speakers :)

If you want a budget sub na malakas, go DIY sir.. Look for marcopilyo nalang.. Surely you wont regret it for the price.. Tapos if budget permits, try a-audio speaker sets din.. Para enjoy mo na ang movies mo :) All on budget but tested ;D

I suggest to get even entry receiver Onkyo 606 ayos na yan. my officemate has this model maganda performance both in music & movies. Sa speakers okay pa yang existing speakers mo, just set them to small, then yung extra amount mo get a decent sub (marami nyan dito sa B/S). Sa FS speakers can wait whn budget permits... :)

bro don't buy it ng sabay sabay.. slow down muna..
for example try a 2.1 setup-up first.. everything will come in due time.. ;)
or
try to buy a second hand receiver
or
an imported new one most probably prices will still go down by next year.. ;D

Sa ngayon 2.1 ch pa lang setup ko, so medyo di ko pa maximize yung 5.1 ch, at di ko pa rin ma dinig yung DTS-HD at Dolby True HD kc naka set to off yung center at surround ko.
So right now Im just enjoying music po..so far nag gel naman sila ng Konzert FS at SW ko. I've tried movies na downmix ng 2.1 channels and ganda rin po ng SQ nya.
Uy naka set up na pala agad! Congrats bro sa upgrade....sinasabi ko na nga ba, before end ng 2011 eh upgraded na gears mo! kaunti na lang kumpleto na set-up mo. Congrats ulit!!!!

Settings ko lang na small pareho yung center at surround para ibato nya mga lows sa sub..medyo maliit kc drivers e para di hirap.
So far Im very happy na d2 (for now)...tigil muna SARS virus, uminom na muna ako anti-SARS e hehe

Di na simple yan chris. You can judge by the level of entanglement of wires that are hidden behind the audio rack. I bet yours are pretty much entangled by now. :) Congrats on your growing setup.

hehe thanks Sir, oo nga, dati e konti lang nakasaksak sa likod. Now dami na, speaker wires, adaptor wires, rca's, hdmi's, avr etc...edit ko na lng Sir yung title ko.

Oo nga Sir,
Medyo sa ngayon e nabibitin ako sa FS ko pag music, sa movies ok na ok e...kaya eto..balak na naman mag upgrade ng fronts kundi this Dec, early next year. Hirap talaga ng pag naumpisahan na e, sunod sunod na ang upgrade hehe.

hi Sir, yun nga una kong struggle e, mali bili ko ng rack..di ko naisip na mag upgrade ako balang araw. Hinabol ko kc d2 yung drawer sa ilalim hehe.
Yung height nung lagayan sa gitna is only 5 inches...yung AVR nasa 7 in e. Try ko rin sa ibabaw ng AVR pero matatakpan yung labasan ng heat ng AVR, bka masira at mag over heat.
Kaya struggle din ako sa center, naghanap ako ng 5 in tall lang na center...kaya sa future pag nag upgrade ako ng center na mas mataas ang height...di ko alam kung saan ko ilalagay hehe.
Siguro mag stand na lang ako sa center pag nag upgrade ako ng center ko.

suggestion lang brader, ilagay mo na sa ifs yung tv rack/mount mo and get one from cdr king. maraming murang malalaki clearance ng bawat layer. future proof na for your upgrade, mura pa. at maganda rin naman. di pahuhuli sa mga branded. yan din una kong naging dilemma, di ko naisip yung receiver. buti na lang naibenta ko yung una kong nabili and replaced it with a bigger clearance layered tv rack/mount. just my two centavos' worth. :)

Yan din po iniisip ko...isa pa po palang problem is nasa 4th floor kami using spiral staircase. Bago naiakyat itong rack...4 people nagtulong-tulong na idaan sya thru our terrace, and floor by floor sya inaalalayan para di tumama yung glass. almost 1.5 hours sya hinila paakyat kc tumatagilid yung rack and may tendency tumama sa mga walls or mahulog.
Kaya last option ko po yung magpalit ng tv rack kc sobrang hassle ng bahay namin e...alam ni Sir DIDi10 yan, kc nakaakyat na sya sa very steep spiral staircase namin. Kaya nung ibinaba namin yung purchase nilang Wharfedale EVP x15...naku napakahirap hehe.
What if I buy a 2 layer rack then mount it on the upper left side of our wall, then dun ko ilagay yung receiver & players. Then clear na yung sa ibabaw ng rack for a bigger center. Then yung gitna e mga BD's na lang or iba pang future gears.
Di kaya pangit syang tignan?

Honestly Sir, hindi e...I am thinking na nga po now to sell my Pio & get a new AVR.
Sa music mapupuna na held back yung bato ng speakers.
Sa HT naman ok lang...pero since 50/50 ako sa music & movies...sa music di ako satisfied.
What po u think will compliment sa 9.4 ko na AVR? Do an Onkyo 508 or 606 will do better SQ to my 9.4?

if your leaning to onkyo i guess hindi pa rin magbabago sa music ang performance ng wharfe.what you need to make those diamond sing is to use hybrid tube or SS amp.basta produce more current.

the LF HF na makikita mo sa mga loudspeaker is for bi-wiring purpose hindi sa 2 amp 1 speaker set-up

Tried bi-wiring my FS speaker (9.4) last night. Shoot out muna ginawa ko, left speaker bi-wired, right speaker single wired with jumper cables.
Listened for about 1.5 hours on diff genres to see what's the difference.
Napuna ko, there's no noticable diff sa high's, pero sa mids mas smooth/masarap sa tenga yung bi wired. Parang medyo naka distance yung boses ng singer kasya sa hindi bi-wired na parang kinakain yung mic.
Sa lows naman, yung bi-wired naging smooth ang bato ng lows, sa hindi bi-wired e matigas ang lows. Nakita ko ito during hiphop/rnb music na masakit sa dibdib yung hindi bi-wired.
So overall I used na bi-wiring for both speakers.
Sarap sa jazz & slow rnb like mariah, EW&F & Boyz II Men .
Napuyat tuloy ako kakapakinig hehe.

So far satisfied ako sa Crown sub na nabili ko....and yung Supernova tested ko sa music very very good sound even without the help of a subwoofer, kayang kaya nya yung bass sound. Thanks

Hi Sir, for HT use ko lang po yung Crown sub, I have separate loudspeakers for music listening. Ok na ok for me yung sub, for movies & concerts very satisfied ako.
Laki ng difference for my ears, galing kasi ako sa 8 incher na sub.
ginamit nya ata yan sa HT nya bro.mukhang wala naman prob at ok naman.
