The aeon speakers are so smooth but punchy. Never over bearing but right at the mark. Excellent bass for a bs. I'm triply I love with these speakers

I have yet to gauge the performance of the Aon3 compared to the Polk LSi9s and the Polk LSiM703s since they are priced very near each other. Watch out for this review soon.

Comparisons
The last two speakers I reviewed were the Monitor Audio Platinum PL200 ($8000/pair, April 2010) and the Focal Chorus 826W Anniversary Edition ($3495/pair, November 2010), both floorstanders of about the same size as the Triton Two. The obvious question was how the GoldenEars Triton Two would compare with these more expensive speakers.
Not an easy question to answer. The Monitors and Focals were returned to their distributors some time ago, so I wasn't able to make direct comparisons with the GoldenEars. Although I don't think auditory memory is quite as unreliable as some people claim, I wouldn't want to bet the farm on the accuracy of my recollection of sounds I heard a year ago. Perhaps an even greater problem is presented by subsequent changes in my system. Since I reviewed the PL200 and Chorus 826W, I have replaced PS Audio's Power Plant Premier AC regenerator with their PerfectWave Power Plant 5, now use Nordost Platinum Sort Kones rather than wood blocks under the Ayre CX-7eMP, and have substituted a Hi-Fi Tuning Supreme fuse for the stock fuse in the CAT SL-1 Renaissance preamp. These changes add up to a very significant overall sonic improvement that would present a confounding variable for comparisons with the Triton Two even if my auditory memory were perfect. This is not a copout, but reality.
But there are a few things I can say without going out too far on a limb. Of the three speakers, the Triton Two had by far the most extended and powerful bass. The ported woofers of the PL200 and the Chorus 826W, while certainly respectable in their performance, simply couldn't match the bass from the powered built-in subwoofer of the Triton Two.
As for the more subtle and subjective aspects of sound quality, and for the moment putting aside the confounding variables of system changes, the GoldenEar was very much in the same sonic league as the other two speakers, the Monitor having perhaps a notch higher resolution, at the cost of a touch of brightness. In soundstage depth and width and precision of imaging, the Triton Twos were easily a match for the other two speaker pairs—neither of which is exactly a slouch in this department.
Judgments of a product's appearance are also subjective, but the Monitor Audio Platinum PL200, with its hand-rubbed wood veneer, was the most beautiful of the three to my eye, though I find the Triton Two attractive as well. But if you want your speakers to look like pieces of furniture, the PL200—and, to a lesser extent, the Focal Chorus 826W—will be more to your taste.
I was able to directly compare the Triton Two with my reference speaker, the Avantgarde Uno Nano, a horn hybrid with a powered subwoofer ($17,000/pair when last available; the German company is currently having problems with North American distribution). The Uno Nano is, overall, the "better" speaker: it's able to produce the illusion of live music more successfully than the Triton Two, with high-level dynamics that the GoldenEar can't match. This, of course, comes at a cost: you could buy six pairs of Triton Twos for the price of a pair of Uno Nanos, and still have money left over for some really good interconnects. But if price is not a deterrent, the Avantgardes will give you a closer approximation of live music.
The fact is, I was quite content to listen to music through the Triton Twos. In my high-end system, whose speaker cables cost more than the GoldenEars, there was no indication that the speakers were a weak link in the chain. I was in no hurry to switch back to my Avantgardes.
Conclusions
Given the technology that these speakers represent, not to mention their sound quality, I would not be surprised if they retailed at around $10,000/pair. But they cost only a fourth of that: $2499.98/pair. I don't know how GoldenEar can sell the Triton Two at that price and still make money for themselves and their dealers. Having the speaker being made in China certainly helps—but nowadays most speakers, even ones with pedigreed names, are made there. Sandy Gross wrote, in an e-mail, "We lavish the same care, expertise and experience that is usually reserved for the highest-priced high-end speakers on every GoldenEar speaker we create. We do it because we can—and because we know that you will enjoy and appreciate the result."
Finally, a caveat about auditioning these speakers at a dealer: The Triton Twos' relatively low price means that dealers will likely combine them with electronics and source components of similarly modest prices. This will not bring out these speakers' best. One audiophile told me that he'd heard the Triton Twos at a dealer driven by a midpriced home-theater receiver (with who-knows-what source) and was not that impressed with the sound. I'm not surprised. A speaker can reproduce only the signal it's fed; if you give it a mediocre signal, it can produce, at best, mediocre sound. The Triton Two is good enough to deserve associated equipment of high quality—which doesn't necessarily mean high price. Combine it with something like a PrimaLuna ProLogue Premium integrated amp, an Oppo BDP-95 universal Blu-ray player, and Nordost Leif cables, and you have a seriously good system for less than $7000 that will take you through these recession-prone times.

The slim center speaker sound so clear ang big that would have my JBL LS center, which is twice the price, a run for its money...

Construction and Design
It does not follow the mold of typical speakers in its price range. The shape is certainly odd (like a chopped-off pyramid), with a grille that wraps around the speaker. Many will find it under-embellished, but it does carry a minimalist appeal. The speaker itself is fairly light, but it feels solid nonetheless.
Sound
Lows: The woofers are clearly tuned for midrange duties, so a big chunk of the heavy lifting is handled by the passive radiators. The bass hump that’s common with most speakers happen at a lower frequency, which is a little different. Blending between the woofer and the radiators is passable, but can use some work. The opposed passive radiators are brilliant in preventing the cabinet from shaking when playing low notes (the reciprocating masses cancel each other). They give you weight that belies the speaker’s size, especially if you have them fairly close to the back wall. Being passive radiators, they do have a steep roll-off below their tuning frequency, which takes some getting used to.
Midrange: The Aon 3 delivers a clean and dry midrange (not the rich and chesty presentation that some may prefer). It’s cleverly voiced with a mild depression in the frequencies that excite enclosure resonances (not that there is a lot). Resolution is good and I didn't notice anything sticking out (that is a great thing). Images are in soft focus because of what seems to be a depression in the presence region. The woofer transitions to the tweeter very smoothly, which is a feat for a 2-way design.
Highs: The Aon 3 delivers an airy and sparkling top end. Extension isn't a problem with its ribbon tweeter. Shimmer from instruments like Cymbals and Triangles are almost lifelike. It seems to have a sizable dip in the 3 - 8kHz region, which gives it a very amiable flavor. People who want a lively presentation will find it a bit wanting in bite and attack, however.
Overall: The Aon 3 is definitely worth a listen. Quite easy to drive, even small amps like the DDA-100 can provide satisfactory motivation. It lacks the neutrality of more conventional designs, but it delivers a sound that will please many. It excels in bringing a sense of space around instruments and conveying a good rendition of live venues. The sweet spot is huge, which makes it great for group listening and HT. That last bit is probably its greatest advantage, as it will sound good in almost any part of the room. MLY is very willing to have you give them a go, so do stop by their showroom for a demo.

I had the good fortune and privilege to home audition during the weekend the Triton 2 towers for a full day(24 hrs), courtesy of Marc Yao. I promised him to put my impressions, both listening and visual, about the floorstanders. Trouble is, I am still mesmerized by them and still have to collect my senses ;D. Anyway, will post asap. I got to audition the SuperSat 60C and the ForceField 5 earlier. The SuperSat 60C is like a louder version of the 50C (good for large areas), while the ForceField 5 is a powerful-sounding sub. The ForceField 5 would be better in pairs though. ;) ;D
lets do a home audition of the forcefield 5. :)

Haha sabi ko nga di ba minimalist ang setup ko na susunod sa likod ng screen ang speaker. Para subwoofer lang ang kita sa harap. Parang yan sa baba na pic all wall mounted na SuperSat 60/60c. Saka ganda din ng review from avs forum supersat 50 lang un nireview. ;D ;D

Naaudition ko na din naman na ang AON 3 kay louie saka may nagsabi nga sa akin. Saka dati pa may nag sasabi sa akin na ALL LCR ang maganda sa HT. Saka kahit mas maganda ang AON 3 mo di pa din ako mag AON 3 kasi nga minimalist ang setup ko need ko maximize ang 3.5x4 meters na HT room ko lalo na pag di napagawa ung new HT room. Pero malamang ganun pa din sa new HT room ko wall mounted ang LCR and Fronts. Baka even Front wide, heights and surround all wall mounted para minimalist. Kung mas maganda man ang AON 3 siguro naman di ganun kalaki kasi maganda din naman ang review ng AVS forum wala nga ako makita na review ng AON 3 sa AVS. >:D >:D
Since same naman ung SS60c sa SS60 yung c kasi for horizontal and other is vertical. So malamang SS60 na ang fronts ko. ;D ;D

May nakapag test na din ng all LCR sa PDVD piang aaudition nga ako kaya lang wala pa ako pambili nun kaya nag POLK ako. Now puwede na LCR Fronts and Center malay natin maging SS50 din ang surround. >:D >:D

Problema mo lang diyan pag dinaga gagawan mo pa ng box yan para di mag kaissue pag may daga sa inyo kasi kisame na yan di mo na alam ang mangyayari.. Saka same lang price nung SS3 sister. bwahahaha >:D >:D
hindi ko pa nabasa o nakita. pero kung yan talaga kursonada mo, go ka na dyan. :)

Actually hindi lang naman "assist" ang ginagawa ng subwoofer when you integrate them to a certain speaker channel...
You make that channel have a wider frequency response especially sa lower end, you can even set that particular channel to Large or Full Band depending on the subwoofer capabilities ;)
The more capable the sub is, the better...

those supercenters don't look like the old centers. more of a box on the speaker if you know what i mean. the old ones were just flat.. as thick as an lcd :).
the new supercenters are GoldenEar's answer to those wanting a big center that can play the lower frequencies. when using the audyssey calibration, audyssey actually sets the crossover for the supercenter at 40hz. :)
both the supercenters and supersat 50c/60c are very impressive and will give a very detailed sound. :)
