Any feedback regarding the courier Forexworld?

Been using this forwarer for quite some time now and so far they handled my stuff with care(Projector, Receiver, Playstation 3, Popcorn Hour C-200, Printers, 42 inches LCD TV)..

Matagal ka nga lang talaga mag aantay.. my longest was 60 days, shortest was 50 days... But sofar so good.. no complaints.. Boxes doesnt have signs of mishandling...

I have a package delivered to their warehouse in CA last June 21 and up to now there's no communication or updates (via email) whatsoever from them.

Meron pa ba ibang courier na mas reliable when it comes to shipping by sea?

forexworld is the mother company of po box.

did you fill in your deliveries on their website? po box is prompt in updating your account when they receive your stuff. po box don't send email, they will only mark the items in your cart as received and it's up to you to advise them when to ship it out.

forexworld system should be the same as they are the same company with po box.

ganon ba katagal ang delivery sa manila sir? i always check po box shipment tracking via forexworld website and it only takes 30-35 days for them to receive the box in cainta warehouse from the date of vessel departure in CA. but it takes them almost a month to deliver the box to leyte.

what i did now it to get them boxes at their libis office and have south sea cargo pick them up for delivery to leyte

Yes I did.. In fact I received a confirmation already that the package has been received in their warehouse in CA.  I specified that the item should be shipped when received but up to now there is no advice on whether I will pay something or what.

you need to email their contact person and request the item to be box'ed or ship out, then they will send you a billing statement. you can pay the shipping fee at the local bank.

like now, i have items at po box warehouse more than a green box but they won't put it in the box unless i will tell them.

remember, cut-off day is wednesday and shipping day is friday every week

I did email the contact person and she told me that she will have it shipped out but up to now the status of the package has not changed.  There was also no advise on how much I will have to pay.  Kinda frustrating since this is the first time I used this courier.

that's odd, but forexworld's contact person is not the same contact person of po box ;D

sometimes po box will ship my box and send the billing statement a week later. then after i pay the fees, they will send me the tracking number. from there i can see that the box had been loaded and shipped a week ago.

teka, i have registered at forexworld long time ago but i did not understand the payment method (was in a hurry kasi to read). is it not they want you to deposit in their account first and they will credit the shipment fee from your account?

po box is very straight forward, they will send you the bill and you pay them.

i am ok with po box, my contact there is celine. and she's ok naman, sometimes you need to shoot her a couple of emails before she gets back to you, but im use to it.

what i dont like lately, is it takes around 5 weeks for my packages to arrive from the 3-4 weeks. although celine did explained to me that custom clearance now takes more time than usual since they really scrutinize balikbayan boxes now not like in the past.

but overall, im happy. just gets a little impatient pag excited na sa laman ng padala.  ;D

Status for 1 week na: Received in the Warehouse.  No update whatsoever.

tama yong nabasa ko sa fine print ng forex. i like po box way of payment, they send you a bill and you pay only the exact amount. very straight forward and no need to check how much balance you have on your account

Yung sa balance lang naman is if may sobra ka sa last payment mo or nag dedeposit ka for future funding of your package. ;) ;)

anong electronic item yan sir. i asked both po box and forexworld for a quote on a PJ, sa forexworld shipping lang whereas sa po box may tariff na $40 yata.

Yes. Meh sales tax na ang amazon. Shipping it to california will have a sales tax of 7.25% and maximum CA sales tax after local surtaxes is 9.75%. Effectivity date will be on september 2012.  >:( kelangan na magshopping before september.  :D

Brader Iinas,

Which customs clearance are referring to? Dito si Philippines or sa US?

Yung latest package ko sa PoBox, more than one week na na ganito ang status sa Forexworld:

Status    :   HOLD FOR INSPECTION
Current Location    :   U.S CUSTOMS, LOS ANGELES, CA

First time kong nakita eto as status among the packages I sent. Nung in-email ko si Celine, sabi niya this is normal, pero nagtataka lang ako at 1 week na.

Btw, I was charged $60 for tariff, according to her, because it's electronic equipment that they assess to be more than $1200 in value. First time ko na-charge for tariff. All my previous packages wala.

Customs dito sir gaol...

Less hassle... Never akong nag ka hassle on my shipment and no additional payments whatsoever. My latest shipment was my Panasonic PJ shipped in it's original box.. Nagtagal lang sa Customs dito nang 5 days pero thats about it..

Celine told me that for onkyo 616 it's $10 while for the onkyo 818 it's $40. But if it is combine in 1 package the total tariff will be $60. Ang laki ng difference ng tariff between 616 and 818.

Sa forex wala nga tariff unless the eletronic you bought is above $2500 as per the CSR told me. mas cheaper tlga ang forex kaysa sa pobox.

Thanks for the tip bro. Actually my wife's sister lives an hour away from LA. Pero dyahe lang kasi she spends her day looking after her 18 month old daughter halos wala na siyang ibang maatupag. Okay naman din ako sa PoBox, before this latest package, I had some school materials shipped directly to the LA address and na-process ng walang hassle and walang tariff. Less than 1 month after it shipped dumating dito; and  they delivered it a day after  it arrived at their Cainta warehouse. Mabilis.

With the latest package, it's actually two of the same item that they packed into 1 big box. They charged me $70 for the box plus $60 tariff = $130. Mas worried ako about the customs inspection sa US since first time ko na-encounter yun.

Unacceptable experience for my first shipment.  It took them 2 weeks (from arrival of the package in Manila) to finally have my package shipped to Davao.  It will take another 5 days for the package to arrive here in Davao.  Not good.. Even assuming that the weather last week was really bad, it should not take them 2 weeks to ship out my package.

that's the problem with provincial shipping. like mine, it took them 2 weeks to ship the box to tacloban then God knows how many days of waiting for the delivery to ormoc. in fact i have not received a direct shipment to ormoc yet because i always collect them from their tacloban warehouse. i would have to drive 2 hrs (one way) and back just to get the box, atat na kasi ;D.

i found a solution to this issue by making their office in manila as the final destination. then i will arrange a local courier (by land or sea) to pick the box. less hassle and cost to me because their provincial shipping fee of $15 is just about the same fee for sea cargo.

I am using http://www.forexcargouk.com/ for all my shipments from UK. Just like to ask if same company kaya eto with that of the US. I had 3 boxes shipped by them and no problems encountered, 30 days pa bago ko binabayaran invoice by BDO account though they have paypal and you absorb fees.

Prompt naman sila magbigay ng invoice kasi once you agree to pack the box and sched for next shipment meron nako agad invoice. Good handling and ala man lang galos yung boxes nila pag dating dito sa atin so far...

Hi,

How do I fill up the order form of forexworld when ordering from ebay? Since my stuff are coming from different sellers should I click place a new order for each item? Or do I just place one order under Ebay name then add items there? I thought of doing this but then there was only one field for entering estimated time of arrival and tracking number, so I'm not sure what to do as there are many items I've ordered from different ebay sellers.

I emailed them already but haven't gotten a reply yet. Thanks.

Sir Davidson, in my case when I'm using ForeXworld in my purchases via Ebay, I'm using a "drop ship" or meaning I will pay the item then it will be delivered to their Warehouse in LA. Forexworld will consolidate the item. You may need first to create a profile in the WebSite. You may want to read the FAQ section, hope this will help.

I'm planning to buy a Yamaha receiver from an eBay seller through Forex online shopping but I would like to know first if anybody here requested Forexworld to have one of their warehouse staff in L.A. open the box and check if the unit is working or at least turning on? The request seems odd, but is this possible?

you can drop them an email for instructions. they have a $10 fee to consolidate items in a box so for sure they will not do it for free. but who knows, maybe their staff have extra time in their hands and can do it for free.

So ano ang difference ngForexworld and PO box?

PO Box
- no consolidation fee
- may tariff sa electronics
- $75 ang big box

Forex
- $10 consolidation fee sa big box (dunno sa smaller box)
- no tariff sa electronics
- $65 lang ang big box
- mura ang quote nila sa 120" fixed PJ screen compared to PO Box, as in $100 ang difference

Wondering lang sa forex, yung 10 $ consolidation is per item or per box? Eg, I have 5 items I want them to consolidate...  do I pay 10 $ o 50 $ consolidation fee?

sir wax, i noticed the charges when i had loaded lots of small items in their $65 box. the $10 charge is for 1 box irregardless of the consolidated items.

^ FRS lang ang nagpopower on for testing purposes ask xrampage. If ever 4-5 weeks naman on hand mo na, pano naman yung pabalik ng US kung DOA ang unit mo? These are the risks buying from US, apart from 120V and the warranty. :)

+1 on this.

i had 2 PJ's shipped by them (FRS) and sent thru LBC to the province without any hassle. madaling kausap si luis (owner) at pwede nila e power on ang unit before shipping. i've known this courier thru sir xrampage too and the service is top notch.

Some of my concerns exactly, sir taxx007. I already had one bad experience with another eBay seller in the US. That's why I decided against purchasing the receiver abroad.  :(

I am not promoting FRS or discouraging others from ordering from US. Lahat yan may risks, eh pano kung nagpopower on nga may sira naman internally?  >:D

Kaya nga po risk pa din talaga kaya ako bago bili sa US nagtanung muna ako ng service or replacement price of my pj and compare ko ang price locally with the price replacement. In the end nakamura pa dn ako sa PJ ko kasi that time 100k ang price i got it for )0k+ with air shipping add mo lamp replacement or pagaayos nung unit pag nasira nasa sabihin natin 80k lang compare to 120k ng pj ko locally that time. Both my yamaha amp and pj has no issue until i sold them.

Forexworld is a trusted balikbayan box delivery service according to my relatives in the states. I tried their service myself and had them deliver a 4 feet by 3 feet Barbie House I bought at Amazon.com. It took a while but when it came, the box was in very good condition with just one tear (which was taped over) but the contents were well preserved. Also their email service is very good and you can usually expect a reply within a day or two if not instantly.

Been using Forex for five years now. Shipped lots of small stuff (shoes, clothes) up to big stuff (table saw, bandsaw).  Some electronics I shipped were a keyboard, small audio gear.  Also lots of hard disks.

Never had a single problem.

They used to be very "personal".  I'd email Ging Carino what to expect and they'd keep a bin open for me.  I'd receive emails of arrivals at their warehouse.  When my items are complete, Ging would email me back telling me the size of the box they selected and the amount.  They pack efficiently, never using a big box when a small box would do, so you don't get overcharged.  Used to take just about 4 weeks.  Now, with new US inspection rules, takes 5 to 6 weeks.

On a trip to LA, wife and I even went to their warehouse near Compton just to put a face behind the email.  Met Ging, a very nice lady, who showed us her shop and our boxes.  Encouraged, we went shopping some more then brought our goodies to their warehouse for eventual shipping to Manila.

Nowadays, they have a webpage that allows you to list your items and monitor progress.  Not much personal touch, anymore; I don't get to communicate with Ging but either Vangie or Fhamel or Chai instead.  I guess they expanded.  But still the same efficient service.

I heard some people from this forum as well as others I am a member to lost something they shipped.  But, from my observation, this is a rare occurrence.  Still, when I ship something of relatively high value, I pay the few $ extra for insurance.

Last January, I had a box being shipped which was supposed to include a small book.  The book took forever to arrive, delaying the whole box. I advised them to leave the book behind and they can keep it for themselves then forgot about the book entirely.  I actually have a new box in transit at the moment.  When I checked earlier on their website the contents, I was pleasantly surprised that it contained the book that got left behind.

I'd recommend Forex anytime.

just bought a JBL L810 for a friend from amazon and was delivered a couple of weeks ago. the speaker fits their $70 box with extra space for small items. the balikbayan box arrived in tip top condition and as well the contents inside.

*** Shipping Electronic Devices ***
Just recently, US Customs implemented a policy on electronic devices such as the following: Laptops, Kindle eReader, ipads, mobile phones and the like or those devices that can store information or that has installed software and applications. US Customs have been inspecting all electronic devices that would fall under that category. According to them, sending such devices is not prohibited. However, devices that may contain data are subject to scrutiny as they may compromise national security. That said, we are asking you to refrain from sending such items until we can resolve matters with the US Customs. If you want to continue to ship such electronic devices, you do so at your own risk. Please be warned that losses or damages that may result from Customs inspections will not be covered by insurance.

Most likely these are in Kaoshiung in Taiwan.  There will be no update because technically, it's on it's way here and they can't give a firm date as to its arrival because of the unpredictability of the port situation.  Try sending them an e-mail inquiry and I'm sure they will know exactly where it is.  My boxes in May arrived early August while those shipped in June arrived in late July.

mahal pala air shipping charges nya:

Hi Sir,

Good day!

Thank you for choosing Forexworld Online Shopping.

To give you an idea on how much our Air freight shipping cost is, it will be $24.95 for the first pound (lb) additional $3.95 for each added pound and an additional $6.95 for each added pound for electronics.
Weight is rounded off to the next pound. If package is bulky weight is measured by volumetric weight. Whichever is bigger (actual weight or volumetric weight) is the value calculated to get the cost of shipping. (Computation of Air freight charges may differ depending on the item you wish to ship) And please be advised that Customs duties are excluded from the quotations being provided. Please also be advised that currently Philippine Customs had been implementing thorough inspections on air shipments, thus we need to declare the contents of the boxes, value and commercial quantity goods. A quantity above 5 is already considered as Commercial quantity.

If your box is shipped through Air, it will be delivered in approximately seven (7-10) Business days.

The Go Air promo is being offered by our Forex VA (Virginia) office only. Unfortunately, they only accept Drop Ship orders. Furthermore, charges are subject to change due to Custom duties and taxes.

Our Forex LA (Los Angeles) office also does Air freight shipping of both Online Shop and Drop Ship orders.
However currently, regular rates are being followed.

Should you have additional concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you.

RANT ON

The delivery dates are getting ridiculous by the day.  My first box was shipped from LA at the first week of August, and it just arrived at the Philippine port (per last update) last October 3.  I have another box, which was shipped at the end of August and have estimated ETA of October 8, which is tolerable.  They do not give concrete explanation on the delay and it is frustrating.  And those ETAs are not even guaranteed, and I don't know how many days or weeks their estimate is off.

What frustrates me even more is that I have another item which was received on their warehouse last September 23 and they just gave me a quotation on the air shipping for that item LAST NIGHT!  I know they are transferring to a new warehouse, but that don't justify on giving air shipping quotation for 2 weeks. It is very unreasonable!  But no, that is not the climax, apparently they are taxing items now.  Not sure with JAC if they are affected by this.  My 49 USD air shipping quote turned to a freaking 275 USD! Aside from the 2 weeks delayed they have caused me, they gave me this surprise and all I get is 'sorry'?! I should have just bought the item locally and brandnew, it could have save me from this nightmare, and would probably end up costing the same (probably cheaper if I push through with that insane air shipping price).  To think the item I bought is already pre-owned! *sigh

Before I really recommend Forexworld, as I have shipped many items from the US through them.  The communication was superb and the rates reasonable even with the air shipping before.  Also, the delivery delays before were tolerable as the maximum delay I experienced was 2 weeks.  It seems from the couple of months, their service slipped dramatically.

I am still contemplating if I should let them ship the item back to one of my friends or relatives.  They can hand carry the item for me, I will just give them the suppose 50 USD air shipping.

Here is the breakdown if you want to check

Electronics value = $750
Actual weight = 5.72 lbs
Vol. weight = 5.88 lbs
Chargeable weight = 6.00 lbs
$24.95/1st lb
$19.75/add'l 5 lbs
$  5.00/re-pack
$49.70 SUB TOTAL AIR ONLY
$225.00 Tax
$  49.70 Air
$225.00 Tax
$274.70 TOTAL

Kung air, better stick with JAC nga.

Pero for sea forwarders, I doubt if you're going to see improvements with other providers.  I suspect all of them are going through the same port congestion nightmare.  Unless meron nang forwarding company which utilizes Batangas or Subic ports...

This is with regards to your Air shipping requests. Please be advised that currently Philippine Customs had been implementing thorough inspections on air shipments, Thus we need to declare the contents of the boxes, value and commercial quantity goods. A quantity above 5 is already considered as Commercial quantity.

kaya I asked YAB dun sa thread sa JAC if ganun na din sa kanila

problem with provincial shipping. like mine, it took them 2 weeks to ship the box to tacloban then God knows how many days of waiting for the delivery to ormoc. in fact i have not received a direct shipment to ormoc yet because i always collect them from their tacloban warehouse. i would have to drive 2 hrs (one way) and back just to get the box, atat na kasi ;D.

i found a solution to this issue by making their office in manila as the final destination. then i will arrange a local courier (by land or sea) to pick the box. less hassle and cost to me because their provincial shipping fee of $15 is just about the same fee for sea cargo.

how many days if i use a local courier? by local courier, do you mean LBC and the like,(what specifically?)?

any forex regular customer noticed the delay in packing/shipping of boxes lately? it's been more than 2 weeks since i've told them to pack and ship my stuff. all i received was one email saying that they will do it but there was a side note saying that they have backlogs in shipping.

usually, it only took them a week, then they will send you the tracking number or invoice.

ForexWorld is undergoing a massive overhaul.  New office, new warehouse, new telephone numbers (all mobile numbers).  Their CSR work from home from Mondays-Thursdays, and work out of the Balintawak warehouse on Fridays.  They now have a new delivery logistics partner, eShip.

Looks like they're replacing their online system in the future as well.

eShip single handedly brought down ForexWorld Cargo overnight.  Yeah, run away from them like a plague.  I feel sorry for the old timer CSRs who were absorbed by eShip.

nabili ba ng eship si forexworld?   sobrang sablay na.. i still have 3 items missing in their inventory (buti i have the email) which was never shipped out.

then i have around 3-5 boxes.

edit: i just re read their faq.. they started eship pala.. (maybe tapped their services?) kasi yung old forexcargo ph palpak daw.

Old Philippine partner was Forex Cargo (Cainta warehouse).  Press release nila was that di makakuha nang BOC certification/registration ang Forex Cargo, so they tapped another logistics partner eShip.  Rest is unfortunate history.

Pinoyboxdelivery isn't perfect either.  Similar poor estimation for arrival (original ETA date moved 4 times).  Pero responsive naman sila basta communicating within their system.  Downside is no phone contacts whatsoever.  Email replies take up to 1 week.

Lol!

It depends where you're sitting.  We both already have first hand experience with eShip.

i wonder pobox still uses forexworld/eship.
