Just as the listing on Amazon foretold last month, Marvel and Disney today revealed the case for their 10-disc Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled box set. It features not only a glowing Tesseract cube contained in the S.H.I.E.L.D.-issue containment case, but also six brand-new pieces of art (for each flick - Marvel's The Avengers, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man 1 & 2, The Incredible Hulk) designed to adorn each disc case, Criterion-style. If you're headed to Comic-Con this weekend you'll probably be able to get a look at it yourself, hit the source link for a few more pictures of the case and artwork before deciding whether the current $139 price on Amazon is too much or just low enough to have this sitting on your disc shelf. While you decide between this and the Avengers solo release on the same day, September 25th, don't forget to snag the accompanying iOS second screen app now.
On the eve of Comic-Con 2012, where Marvel Studios will unveil the first look at Iron Man 3 and tease “Phase Two” of the franchise, comes more exciting news for fans of the Marvel cinematic universe. The must-own comic book movie collection of the year is on its way and if you’re interested in picking up The Avengers on home video in September, or better yet, the entire Phase One: Avengers Assembled collection, Marvel has just offered a more in-depth look on what the set includes.
The art for the box sleeves comes from Matthew Ferguson and is exclusive to this limited edition home video release. The sleeves may only be cardboard, but they look awesome. There’s one for each film with an additional S.H.I.E.L.D. inspired design.
If The Avengers wasn’t a big enough deal at the worldwide box office, becoming the third top-grossing film of all-time, its home video release should follow the same trend, releasing with four different versions, with the monster full-series set (including all films) being teased with the following image:

Focusing on the 10-Disc collector’s set, Marvel has unveiled the limited edition’s contents in addition to the art work on the box sleeves containing the discs. The set comes in a SHIELD case similar to that seen in the films housing the Tesseract (Cosmic Cube) -the MacGuffin of the last few Marvel Studios films leading up to and including The Avengers.
Retails for $219 ($152.99 if you pre-order)
It’s a shame these aren’t available as a Comic-Con poster collection similar to the concept art for each Avengers character released last year at the big event. These would make for some great banners to put on the wall. As for pricing, the big 10-disc Phase One set retails for $219 ($152.99 if you pre-order) with the 4-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack suggested retail price coming in at $49.99. The 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack and 1-Disc DVD have suggested retail prices of $39.99 and $29.99, respectively.

read on some bd forums that disney may release this set at a later date or they may repackage it daw para hindi na magkapareho yung design ng case or wala na yung case. some are fearful that it maybe cancelled.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One Box Set is Still Coming!

Last week, fans reported receiving notices of a potential delay regarding preorders of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One Box Set (first revealed during Comic-Con). Planned for release on September 25th (the same day Marvel's The Avengers hits DVD and Blu-ray), the set was to include Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray presentations of The Avengers, Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor, as well as Blu-ray versions of Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk and the discs were to be housed in a replica of Nick Fury's briefcase alongside a light-up model Tesseract and many other prop replicas straight from the films.
Speculation suggested that the delay was due to a pending lawsuit on the part of the company that manufactured the case for the film and some fans feared that the set may be cancelled altogether.
There's some positive news today, however, as the Phase One set will indeed see a release, albeit next spring instead of later this month. SuperHeroHype has confirmed that case design will change, although we're not yet certain exactly how significantly.

Marvel Phase One Box Set to Include Phase Two Teasers

The original Marvel Phase One box set was delayed due to a lawsuit over the packaging it was to be shipped in. Now it looks like the set will be ready for release in it's new case on April 2 (via EW).
EW has also learned that the set will include some teases for the upcoming Marvel Phase Two. Marvel Studios producer Kevin Feige said it will include "footage, concept art, and a few new surprises" from Phase Two. Phase Two of Marvel's cinematic universe includes Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Avengers 2. "Also, look for a nod to Iron Man 3 in the Tony Stark S.H.I.E.L.D. file in the box set," teased Feige.
The box set will also include deleted scenes not found on previous Blu-ray releases, like the alternate ending to Thor (which you can see over at EW). "We went back to the editor's assembly of each film and discovered some rare moments that dropped out of the films early on and had not been released on prior discs," said Feige.
The Phase One box set will include ten discs featuring six movies, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, and Marvel's The Avengers. The set will now be enclosed in a new case but will still feature the 'working' Tesseract cube and S.H.I.E.L.D. files on most of the characters.

it's a Disney/Buena Vista release, it's bound to be expensive. :) it's worth it for someone who are fans of the Comics and movies included in the deal. :) I sold my Avengers 3D coz I'll be getting this.

wow. that's truly an amazing set. suddenly i'm in a quandary about getting this though. I acquired the Ultimate Ironman blu-ray and I also have the 2-disc Iron Man 2 and the rare Incredible Hulk w/ Lenticular slip+green case.
Hmm...I'm hoping for more bonus features/extras on this set...but that doesn't seem likely...hope I'm wrong. :D

Makes sense i guess. Pero ako il wait and see if bababa pa presyo. If not, i wont miss the extras anyway. I have ironman 1 and2, hulk and avengers. Didnt like Capt America that much.
