On the local front, is the Avengers Bluray available na? Saw a photo on twitter where they're also giving away Avengers posters with the bluray release daw...

Just saw the one at Odyssey. One disc and no Joss Whedon commentary listed. Sabi raw sa empire mag interview (which I'm trying to confirm) hindi raw sya nakahabol sa commentary recording.
Di bale, may isang buwan pa sya para mag-record sana ;D Amazon.com still lists the bluray and R1 dvd release as having a commentary track.

Yes, along with a Maria Hill alternate ending and several deleted/extended scenes. The Gag Reel and Item 47 one-shot are also included in the local Bluray release.
But the info on the local Bluray case is misleading: it says there's an "Assembling the Ultimate Team" featurette. But all the disc has is the short "A Visual Journey" featurette.

What's with Viva? This is the probably the biggest release of the year, and while other areas in the region (ie Hong Kong, Singapore) got Steelbooks, and 3D+2D releases, they release a single disc one...
and still unfortunately, it seems to be selling briskly... no stock in a few of the Astrovision stores which often stock Blurays.

Who actually bought this? I'm curious if the Philippine version contains the theatrical version (like the US BD), or if it's the censored version that was released in Germany and the UK, causing a lot of fan dissent.

They toned down Coulson's death scene. I'm guessing the local Viva release is probably the tame version, since like the German/UK DVD releases, it doesn't contain the audio commentary by Joss Whedon.

sayang. i could have handcarried a few copies. kababalik ko lang the other week.
ang difference lang ngayon ng avengers 3D steelbooks sold in singapore, yun slip cover di na embossed. normal print na lang. At wala ng freebies yun ibang shops.

The Philippine version is uncensored - same death scene for Agent Coulson as in the theatrical version. It showed Loki's spear penetrating Coulson's chest.

the Philippine version is dearer at 1,500 as compared to about $20 for the US version which comes with a dvd
