ABC has opted not to pick up the remaining 9 episodes of Private Practice, effectively cancelling the show. Earlier this year, lead star Kate Walsh announced her departure from the show even though the series had been renewed for a sixth season.
Episode 13 will be the final episode of the series, set to air by January 2013.
Well, good. This season started off really slow and boring.

HBO has elected not to renew Laura Dern starrer Enlightened for a third season.
The series, which Dern co-created with co-star Mike White, enjoyed critical raves in its recently completed second season (with all eight episodes written by White) but struggled with viewership, even by HBO standards.
This year’s Enlightened season premiere drew 300,000 viewers on its initial airing and 220,000 for its March 3 finale, dropping 67% from the 673,000 viewers its Girls lead-in captured. The Enlightened finale had 500,000 viewers for the night across three airings.
“It was a very difficult decision,” HBO said in a statement. “We’ve decided not to continue ‘Enlightened’ for a third season. We’re proud of the show, and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future.”
Dern won the Golden Globe for TV comedy actress in 2012, after the show’s first season. The cast also featured Luke Wilson, Diane Ladd, Sarah Burns and Timm Sharp. Scott Stephens exec produced with Dern and White, who continues to have an overall deal with HBO.

CBS cancelled long-running series CSI:NY and Rules of Engagement, plus new series Vegas and Golden Boy.
NBC cancelled the overhyped Smash, along with Deception and some sitcoms: 1600 Penn, Guys With Kids, Up All Night, and Whitney.

The jury's still out on a few series -- ahem, "Parenthood" -- but here's an updated list of what's gotten the ax and what's been renewed on the broadcast networks. Wala yatang mataas na ratings sa listahan ng mga na-cancel. Ratings have to be relative to the network's other programs, though. What's amazing for CW is crap for all the other 4.

Fox is pulling the plug on Hieroglyph.
The ambitious Egyptian drama, which was one of several projects Fox greenlighted straight to series, is no longer moving forward due to creative reasons, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Only the first episode had been filmed on the pricey Hieroglyph before writers began breaking scripts and stories, which weren't meeting a certain level creatively, for the rest of the season. Filming on the remaining 12 episodes was expected to start later this year. Hieroglyph was expected to premiere on Fox in early 2015.
Set in the world of ancient Egypt, Hieroglyph follows a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharaoh, forcing him to navigate palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and divine sorcerers, as he races to stop the downfall of one of history’s greatest civilizations.

It's been rescued by Hulu, who ordered a 4th season of 26 episodes...am somewhat glad, since I find the show funny; it's like Frasier, where the lead character is so annoying that you can't help but laugh whenever everything falls apart on them, heh

In early May, we learned that NBC had cancelled the DC Comics television series “Constantine.” At the time, executive producer Daniel Cerone added that the show wasn’t dead yet and that they were looking for a new home elsewhere. Sadly, that search did not have a happy ending. Cerone gave the following update on Twitter:
I promised I’d share news when I had it — sadly, that news is not good. The cast and writers of Constantine are being released from their contracts. The studio tried to find a new home for the show, for which we’re forever grateful, but those efforts didn’t pan out. I’m sorry, I wasn’t provided any information on the attempts to sell the show elsewhere. All I can report is that the show is over.

NBC's "Blindspot" is this season's highest-rated new broadcast series. The crime drama about a tattooed amnesiac working with the FBI to unravel a conspiracy benefits from airing after the highly-rated "The Voice," but it has a fanbase of its own.
NBC, recognizing it has a hit on its hands, ordered nine additional episodes of the series, making it the first new show to be picked up for a full, 22-episode season. ”
minority report - episode order cut
"Minority Report" has turned out to be a expensive flop for FOX, which charged advertisers more money to run ads on the show than any other new series. Perhaps the network needs to hire a pre-cog. "Minority Report" turned out to be the network's lowest-rated freshman series, with the most recent episode delivering a low 0.7 rating among adults age 18 to 49.
In an attempt to mitigate the damage, FOX cut "Minority Report's" episode order from 13 to 10. The series has not been officially canceled yet, but it won't be back next season. ”

Fox has canceled “24: Legacy,” the spinoff of the long-running espionage-action drama.
The network and studio 20th Century Fox Television are exploring future iterations of “24,” possibly as an anthology built around the real-time storytelling format of the original series. Fox said it was already at work with “24” producers on that model.
“24: Legacy” toplined by Corey Hawkins bowed with much fanfare after Fox’s Super Bowl telecast in February but the new version, which did not include original star Kiefer Sutherland, failed to catch fire with fans.

Gotham Season 5 Will be the Series’ Last
FOX today announced it has given the green light to Gotham Season 5 and also revealed it will the series’ last season. “The fifth and final season will wrap up this unique origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, which revealed an entirely new chapter that has never been told,” FOX said in a statement.
Although the network has not announced how many episodes the fifth season will have, it is believed to be a shorter, 13-episode season which would take the show to the 100-episode mark needed for syndication. The final season will focus on Bruce Wayne’s transformation into the caped crusader.

Fox has opted not to renew its sophomore drama series The Gifted for a third season. The family adventure series, set in Marvel’s X-Men universe, comes from 20th Century Fox TV, which now is part of Disney.
I hear that there have been no real conversations but there is a chance for The Gifted to find a new home within the Disney family. The show is produced by Marvel Television, which currently has series on Disney-owned Freeform and Disney-controlled Hulu. (Disney+’s Marvel series come from the company’s movie division.)
The Gifted was well received by critics, with its second season scoring even higher on Rotten Tomatoes (85% vs. 74% for Season 1.) But the drama was a soft performer in linear ratings for Fox in its second season, which wrapped in February.

Amazon Prime has canceled The Tick after 2 seasons
Amazon has decided not to move forward with The Tick. The announcement came from series creator, Ben Edlund who took to Twitter to announce that there won’t be a third season — at least on Amazon.
He did mention that “Destiny demands that my compatriots and I now seek a new home for this series,” so no one knows what the future holds.

Krypton Cancelled at SYFY, Lobo Spin-Off No Longer in Development
Deadline reports that the world of DC on SYFY just got much smaller. The two season drama series Krypton was cancelled by the cable network, and the previously announced Lobo series has also been scrapped.
The outlet reports that the producers of Krypton are in talks with “other outlets” for the series to potentially live on elsewhere.
SYFY’s reason for cancellation is clear after looking at the series’ ratings however, which declined drastically in season 2 after a stellar debut in 2018.

Netflix has reversed its Season 2 renewal decision for The Society. The YA drama, whose production was impacted by COVID-19, has been canceled and won’t film a second season. Additionally, Netflix has opted not to proceed with a second season of another coming-of-age series, I Am Not Okay With This.
According to sources, uncertainty around production dates and balancing the availabilities of a large cast like The Society, coupled with unexpected budget increases due to COVID led to the decisions on The Society and I Am Not Okay With This, which had been both well received by critics and fans and had strong support at Netflix.

After Stumptown secured a second season renewal last May, Deadline brings word that ABC has decided to reverse their decision by officially cancelling the Cobie Smulders-led action drama after one season. According to the outlet’s sources, the decision was made due to scheduling conflicts related to the production start which were caused by the ongoing pandemic. “Supergirl” is officially hanging up her cape.
In a joint decision, the CW and producers Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions have announced that the upcoming sixth season of “Supergirl” will be its last.
Production on the “Supergirl” curtain call is set to begin later this month, and the writers have already started developing storylines for the final 20 episodes, according to sources. The network is aiming to premiere the sixth and final season sometime in 2021.

Just found out Netflix series "Messiah" was cancelled after only one season. I was really looking forward to season 2 and the succeeding ones. It has an interesting plot and makes for a good "What if" scenario of Jesus set in modern times. I really hope Netflix reconsiders.

“American Gods” has been canceled at Starz.
The series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel of the same name will not return for a fourth season. However, sources tell Variety that the network is open to a potential event series or movie to wrap up any loose ends.
“American Gods will not return for a fourth season. Everyone at Starz is grateful to the dedicated cast and crew, and our partners at Fremantle who brought author and executive producer Neil Gaiman’s ever-relevant story to life that speaks to the cultural climate of our country,” a spokesperson for Starz said in a statement.

HBO has canceled “Westworld” after four seasons, the network announced Friday. The news comes just under three months after the series aired its Season 4 finale Aug. 14.
Variety is told a multitude of factors went into the decision to end the sci-drama, including the production’s hefty price tag, combined with dwindling viewership and an ongoing evaluation of programming across the board at HBO’s new parent, Warner Bros. Discovery.

It’s all over for The Midnight Club on Netflix, as the young adult series has been canceled after one season.
Word of the cancellation comes on the heels of news that series’ executive producers Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are leaving Netflix for an overall deal with Amazon Studios. Their Intrepid Pictures had been under a Netflix deal since 2019.

“Snowpiercer” Season 4 will not air on TNT as planned, Variety has confirmed.

Starz confirmed Outlander will return for an eighth and final season consisting of 10 episodes to follow the hit period drama’s upcoming extended 16-episode Season 7 premiering this summer. And while fans will certainly be disappointed that Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) Fraser’s adventures across time and space will be ending, the show’s prequel series Blood Of My Blood has been greenlighted at Starz and will consist of 10 episodes.

Titans and Doom Patrol, the DC Comics dramas that were originally developed to help launch the former DC Universe streaming service, are coming to an end.
The current fourth seasons of both of the Greg Berlanti-produced HBO Max dramas will be their last, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Sources say producers on both Titans and Doom Patrol saw the writing on the wall amid all the changes with DC Entertainment and plotted their current seasons with proper endings so as to not leave fans in a lurch.

“Pennyworth” has been canceled at HBO Max after three seasons, Variety has learned.
The third season, officially titled “Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler,” was the first season of the show to originate on HBO Max. The series originally debuted on Epix in 2019, with Season 2 airing on that channel in two chunks in 2020 and 2021. Season 3 launched on HBO Max in October 2022.

Reservation Dogs, the FX/Hulu acclaimed series from creator Sterlin Harjo, will end with its upcoming third season.
Harjo made the announcement Thursday on Instagram and called the move the “correct decision creatively for the show.”
Co-created by Harjo and Taika Waititi, Reservation Dogs was renewed for a third season in September. The final, 10-episode season will return Aug. 2.
“I always knew what the end of this story would be, I just didn’t know when it would arrive,” Harjo wrote. “As we continued to break stories and write scripts this season, it became clear to the producers, Taika and me that the season three finale is the perfect series finale.”

It’s the end of an era: Superman & Lois will take one final flight on The CW.
The Nexstar-backed broadcast network on Thursday announced that the upcoming fourth season of the DC Comics drama from exec producer Greg Berlanti will be its final run. The 10-episode final season starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will air sometime in 2024.
The decision to conclude the superhero drama comes as producers Warner Bros. TV is clearing the decks of its DC Comics shows that fall outside of the universe currently being constructed by James Gunn.

“SEAL Team” will conclude with the upcoming Season 7 at Paramount+.
The military drama series was renewed for a seventh season back in January. Production on the final season is slated to begin in December. No premiere date is set, but Season 7 will launch in 2024. The show aired its first four seasons on CBS before moving to Paramount+ beginning with Season 5.

Netflix will not be going forward with more seasons of live-action series Shadow and Bone and Glamorous and adult animated comedies Agent Elvis, Farzar and Captain Fall.

The Witcher Season 5 will be the Netflix series’ final installment.
Netflix announced the news that The Witcher Season 5 will serve as the series finale on social media. The streamer also confirmed that Season 4 is currently in production in a cast read video.
