Mukang maganda yung:
Tiktik - The Aswang Chronicles
Mukang ginastusan, at balita ko yung gumawa ng CG eh yung gumawa sa "300" movie.

Tiktik - The Aswang Chronicles
Very disappointed with this. Visually stunning, story was okay, but the pacing was really slow. Couldn't wait for it to end.
Sayang. Still, it LOOKS really nice.
-
^^ I agree, have to watch Looper after that...
oh and Philbert Ortiz Dy rated it 4 1/2 stars by the way :P

Actually expected ko na yan hehe!!! Usual Filipino film with good effects. Pero gang effects lang, kasi dun na lahat napunta ang budget! ;D

Do Filipino films usually have good special effects? I'm thinking the opposite.....

You took it the wrong way. I meant, this is one of those typical pinoy films that has descent to good special effects which has nothing more to offer, but special effects... ;D

TIKTIK: THE ASWANG CHRONICLES **1/2
Cast: Dingdong Dantes, Lovi Poe, Joey Marquez, Janice de Belen, Roi Vinzon, LJ Reyes.
Dir: Erik Matti.
This is dubbed as the Philippines' first ever green-screen film (a la 300 and Avatar). I have to say it was a really good try. The film is about a dysfunctional (sort of) family being attacked by aswangs, a Filipino/Southeast Asian creature that's like a blend of a vampire, zombie and werewolf. It's a horror comedy and there are lots of witty and funny horror moments and some really cool action scenes but some unbelievable lapses in logic and the feeling that the script is rather padded out keeps me from declaring this a complete winner.
-
Will watch this. I have the comic book - movie tie-in so alam ko na ending pero i'm glad may ganito na rin tayo. Hope it's successful para marami pang movies ang sumunod.
-
saw it last night. Klaus Weasley is right. the film looks so good. Was it shot in HD? I could see the military guy's pores. The monsters at the end are ok, pang PS2. :) Baka mas ok kung mga tao na lang talaga. The sad part is that there are lots of scenes where nothing is happening but close up shots of the characters's faces. And there was too much slow-mo used that the tension actually waned instead of escalating. Mas mabilis ang pacing sa comic book. And there are large lapses in logic.
Example: The aswangs get into the house via a window upstairs but when the next group attacks, none of them were able to get in through that same window. In fact, Dingdong and family are even able to escape to the nearby sari-sari store without any of the aswang noticing.

Mukhang kulang sa rendering yung mga CG na aswang.
Surround sound ba sya? nung pinanood ko parang puro sa harap lang yung sounds eh hehe
-
Okay lang yung effects. Ayon lang naman ang main attraction dito. As for the sound parang stereo siya.
-
Saw the trailer. I hope it's the beginning of better CG from local movies and tv.
I wonder if these can be leveraged for a modern retelling of Biag ni Lam-ang or Hudhud hi Aliguyon.

As for the sound parang stereo siya.
I watched it in Eastwood & it's in surround sound.
-
saw this with the family yesterday....ok naman siya ..maypagcomedy din pala hehehe malinis ang pagkakagawa visually....as for the sound ...5.1 siya you can hear "TIKTIK" sound effects coming from the back sometimes ....umiikot pa minsan... PinoyDVD member Ditoy Aguila did the Sound :) Galing Ditoy !...I'm just missing some sub frequencies para mas may gulat yung mga scenes but overall the whole gang enjoyed watching it ;)
-
Disappointed that this never came out on DVD. Despite it being boring, I would have wanted a copy for the CGI. And it's easy to fast forward through the boring parts at home.
-
Looks like this is getting a sequel, although without the involvement of Lovi Poe.

Bought the German bluray from Amazon. I was surprised that it also contains the original Tagalog soundtrack in addition to the German dub. Nice!
