The Amazing Race Philippines started last night. I should have known it but like Survivor it's going to be 5 half-hour shows a week (may Saturday pa nga ba?)
I was actually interested in watching this mainly to see the sights but having to wade through 2.5 hours of what should be a 1 hour show--on a nightly basis--is really turning me off. Annoying.
-
parang bitin kung 30mins per episode
-

so parang 3 full episodes per week lalabas?
-
Around 2.5 hours of show per week. Pero 1 elimination lang per week. So malamang:
Monday - start of leg (probably airport or travel to new city)
Tuesday - detour or roadblock
Wednesday - sigawan/drama
Thursday - road block or detour
Friday - pit stop/elimination.
:o

mukhang pinahaba lang nila. so parang one full episode lalabas per week
-
Ganoon na nga. Ganyan din yata ginawa sa Survivor Philippines. Kaya hindi ko rin pinanood.
-
-
So if any team takes a 4-hour penalty for not completing a task, they can use a complete 30-min episode to show all the crying and the drama and the waiting and the blaming. hehehe.
-
bitin nga... pero I will still watch it.
I like the format of amazing race from the start.
-
me HD version kaya nito? ^-^
-
ano timeslot palabas ito?
-
what channel shows it?
-
what channel shows it?
abc5 sir
-
ano timeslot palabas ito?
around 905pm.
-
around 905pm.
thanks, check ko tonight ^-^

When I saw the promo stating that it would air SIX (yes, not five) days a week, I immediately decided not to watch this show.
It's November sweeps in the States. Basically every show is airing new episodes. There's no way to insert 3 hours more TV programming into my schedule.
-
Well the good news is the second elimination happened in just 3 episodes. And looks like 3 episodes also for the third elimination. The bad news is it's now pushed back past 930. Kainis. Galing.
-
Nagkareplay ng lahat ng eps for last week nung sunday. Hopefully this sunday ulit for this week's episode.
-
What time is the replay?
-
Around 10:00PM ata sya nagstart nung sunday.
-
Okay thanks!
-
I know I said I wouldn't watch it, but I have been, and it's actually not bad. 1.5 hours per show is turning out to be pretty manageable (maybe 65-70 actual minutes per ep) with pit stops every Tuesday and Friday.
She's not handling the stress of the race very well. But it's fun to watch her meltdown, hehe. Shades of Flo.
If you want to try and follow just set an alarm for 9:25pm and make sure you're doing something else while waiting for the actual show to start (it's happened as late as 9:45pm) because Willie can get very annoying.
-
what happened dun sa last episode? nabangga ba talaga yung tricycle? i havent watched any episode.nakita ko lang yung commercial
-
I'm not sure what you're referring to. Sinong team to?
-
any links to download ... i'm an avid fan of TAR since season 1, di ko alam na nag-start na pala to
-
Wala siguro, hehe. Pero may replay daw for the week sabi ni Paulusreef 10pm Sunday. If you catch the one tomorrow, you would have only missed the first 3 pit stops. Pit stop 4 and 5 were this week.
-
I'm not sure what you're referring to. Sinong team to?
cant recall e.never watched an episode pa.....til last night....caught a few snipets...and i agree with you, grabe si Dani! Mega Biatch talaga! kawawa yung partner nya. na-maso pa yung daliri! lol
-
Caught the Sunday replay, it just ended.
Nice, it has very minimal commercials. Probably 5-6 minutes of commercials total over the past 2 1/2 hours.
Winner of a leg gets PHP 200,000? Neat!
So may new Sunday habit na ako. Okay lang Sunday is lean day for torrents. ;)
-
Sa U.S. usually 1% (1M for the winner and 10k per leg). Dito 10% (2M for the winner and 200k per leg). I think it would have been better kung 3M yung prize ng winner and 100k per leg.
-
mas gusto ko yung sunday replay mukhang yung episode buong week ang replay ng sunday so tuloy tulo sya, mas konti pa commercial as what mr hankey pointed out.
-
Mas maganda nga yung replay every sunday, marathon sya and konti commercial lang.
It start at 930 up to 12am.
-
They're using exactly the same tasks used in the Philippine leg of Season 2 of The Amazing Race: Australia. This week, they had the greased pig catching challenge, next week, they have the infamous "use bamboo, drums and ropes to build a raft and row across Misibis Bay" challenge. LOL
-
Yup. Same here. I only watch the marathon kapag Sunday nights para tuloy tuloy. Minsan ako yung napapagod para sa kanila kaya after the show, parang pagod na pagod ako... haha.
-
si Saida lang pinapanuod ko dito. :)
-
si Saida lang pinapanuod ko dito. :)
Haha ako din sana wag sila matanggal hehe
-
Ayos, drama on TAR. Biglang naging ibang show. I guess I should be thankful it's not happening as often as I suspected it would.
-
That incident was inane.
-
-
Happy with the result, but the show went out with a whimper. Nothing exciting about the final leg, after the first task, every team was practically doing a different task at each given time. No chance of any team overtaking another one.
They should rethink the final leg tasks next season to make it more exciting.
And someone should tell Derek Ramsay that when a team of two wins The Amazing Race, they're the winnerS. Plural. :D
-
Reviving this thread because TARP 2 started today. I thought it would start at 7:30 pero 7 pala so I missed most of it. Anyone know if this will have a Sunday marathon like the first season?

Weird. The site you linked to lists the schedule as M-F 7-7:30PM and Sat-Sun 9-9:30PM.
It'll be on for seven days a week?
-
Yeah, that confused me as well. Is it possible that the 5 episodes during the week are cut down into 2 half hour weekend recaps? :P
-

Yesterday's "race against another team and win to get your clue" was so unfair. No matter what your rank was, if running was the weak point of either member, you would automatically fall to last place. It was just wrong.
-
may replay be ulit every weekend?
-

There hasn't been a task on TAR where you had to directly compete (and beat) another competitor to move on, no?
I like the non-straightforward tasks (the ice challenge and the pse challenge). At least hindi siya puro "go here." Kaya lang baka dapat may rule na sila na you cannot help a fellow competitor. Para sariling sikap sila and not because magaling ka lang makiusap o makipagkaibigan. Masyadong mabait ang pinoy, eh. Kahit pareho na silang last place, nagtutulungan pa rin. ::)
-
Sunday nila ginawa ito, no? Masyadong maluwag ang mga kalye. ;D
-
Kaya lang baka dapat may rule na sila na you cannot help a fellow competitor.
I was thinking that, too. It gets really annoying to see one team struggle, then have everyone just whispering what to do after.
-
It's one task per episode, and tonight we have one full episode of people just making their way to the pit stop?
Jeez, they really need a good editor who can do an hour-long summary show for the week.
-
may replay be ulit every weekend?
Yup, they announced that they have a catch up episode tomorrow, Sunday, starting at 9PM.
-
The catch up episode yesterday was only 30 minutes.
-
-
wala bang nagrerecord ng episodes nito?
-
The pit stop episodes are lame. They need to rethink this. In the first season, only the first leg was 5 episodes long. All the other legs were only 3 episodes each. They should go back to that.
-
So they've moved the time? It's now 9pm everyday? Actually, better for me. 7pm was too early. I wasn't home yet some days.
-
Thanks for that alert!
I would've checked my DVR at 11:00PM before going to bed and would've been annoyed to find out I had recorded a Tagalog X-Men instead of TAR-P.
-
How to extend a one hour show to 3 hours:
Step 1. Show. Every. Single. Team. Reading the exact same clue. >:(
-
I'm really not on board with the every-team-votes-for-the-U-Turn scheme. It's so easy to gang up and work to eliminate the strongest team. And there should at least be a rest week for the U-Turned team/s where they're exempted from the U-Turn after having done one.
-
-
Mr. Hankey, anong nasagasaan ni Matt? Di ko narinig. O di ba sinabi?
Hindi sinabi. Yinakap lang niya yung mamang naperwisyo niya.
I'm about to give up on this show. Most of the tasks are wait-for-your-turn tasks, so the chance of any team improving their ranking by doing a task fast is almost zero. At sobra rin dami ng "Needle in a haystack" challenges. No skill required, just luck.
But I'm glad nainis na yung producers sa helping out other teams by whispering the answer after you solve it, at malinaw na pinagbawal in the last clue. Haha!

Okay lang yan. Kung TAR-Philippines, 6 episodes a week, napapanood mo, e di kayang kayang habulin yan, one week lang. :P
-

It took a weekend. I'm caught up. ;D

It actually said in the clue? I didn't see it. At the surfboard challenge? Buti naman!

O.T. The Amazing Race 25 returns in the Philippines. Kaya pala familiar yung pinakita na lugar sa sneak peek noong last episode.

According to information collated from various websites, the globetrotters flew to Manila sometime in June and completed two legs in Cavite and Manila.

Yup!

I have that book! :D

That might have been the most boring finale in the history of this franchise. Two of the last challenges were "wait your turn" challenges, giving no team any chance to overtake a team in front of them. And editing the tasks so it seems they're doing a task simultaneously when you never see any teams together in the same frame is just insulting to the viewer.
But the strongest team won, and the runners up were the teams that seemed like they needed the prize money, so okay lang.
=====
Meanwhile, on the US version of the show: Never has the Philippines looked more Third World on this franchise than it did last week. I can't believe they made contestants swim in Manila Bay! LOL

that was really bad, dami namang magandang mapupuntahan dito, doon pa sila dinala ... kahit sa Makati man lang sana ... hopefully they stay in the Philippines for the next episode and punta naman sila sa Palawan or other tourist sites in the Philippines, that's what they did on season 5

TAR makes the contestants experience the culture of the country they visit (most of the times), and as much as we hate it, what TAR showed was true: naked children left to fend on their own in the middle of the streets, garbage dump in a vacant lot, tricycles and pedestrians everywhere, etc.
TAR just showed us a big mirror. This country has a lot of improvement to do to lift its image.

You finished it! Akala ko you dropped it na, eh, hehe. What was that drama between Matt and Phoebe and Jet and Yna? I just caught the tail end of it.

I'm having withdrawal symptoms. I miss the shrill shriek of "CHEFFFF!," the Brit-accented "Babe!," and the stupid boys shouting "Boom!" and singing/dancing like idiots at the pit stops. ::)
Yna went up their room to tell them to look at the view since it was a beautiful night. Matt told her she should get lost, she was a hypocrite, pretending to be their friend when they Yielded them. Jet tells him not to talk to his sister that way. Matt starts shoving Jet repeatedly, and eventually makes a fist. The siblings retreat, Yna is hysterical crying since "Hindi kami sumali sa Amazing Race para tulak-tulakin." LOL

what I mean is that the contestants should be able to enjoy the country like what they did on some other stages, not to hide the reality ... people usually travel to other places to enjoy what's good ... first time they went here, they almost plied the same route, but they had another stage in Palawan which the contestants really liked - our tourism department was involved at that time

It looks like you'll be disappointed. This week's episode will continue to be in the Philippines and the contestants will be driving a tri-sikad and one team will crash it on a van.

the detour where they played basketball in the last leg was where I grew up - J. Bocobo, Malate, Manila ... we also played basketball in the exact same area, but the ring was on the other side of the road, and the board just attached to a tree :)

Our unofficial frat house when I was in med school at UPCM was also on that street. I got drunk there A LOT in the 1990s. ;D
My Manila-based historian friend clarified the error: The pit stop was actually at Baluarte de San Diego, also in Intramuros.

all the while i thought si buzz lightyear yung mananalo ang lakas nila eh
