Ok guys. I need help big time. My family and I are planning on buying the Devant 39" FULL HD LedTech LCD TV for a very reasonable price but I'm conflicted. I have been reading reviews of customers who have purchased Devant Tvs and most are quite negative. MOst users have reviewed that theirs broke after just a few months and that the Devant staff can't even fix it right while other reviews are positive saying theirs have lasted for 4 years so far with no complaints. But I just thought maybe those who are still satisfied with their Devant product are not sharing their review on it as much as those who are complaining about it. I mean that can be a reason right? I'm just calling everyone who'd really like to help out in deciding if Devant is good enough. I am edging on buying it because it's cheap compared to other LED tech Full HD brands but I am not going to jump just yet. I need ya'll to tell me your stories/reviews with your Devant's or from your friends who have it. I'd be much appreciated. Thank you! :)

My wife and I saw the devant 42" 3D LED TV (42wiz830)and we're amazed with its features so I was curious enough to check pinoydvd for a review.
And there was none :D
Further searching for info, I've read that devant is just outsourcing Skyworth TVs and just rebranding it as their own.

I bought 46" last friday and it's still in the box. Haven't called them yet to install wallmount. Hope this product wont give me a headache soon.. any feedback from longtime devant users here??

There are no large brands with the same price as the Devant HD LedTech LCDTVs. I mean Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic are quite expensive while there's Devant which offers a cheaper price. Turns out, we bought a 42i and no complaints so far. We even bought a table mount for it because we couldn't put in on a wall as there was no right place. The only issue I have with it is the audio for downloaded movies. For cable viewing, audio is perfect but for some movies I reached the max volume and conversations aren't that clear. Although if downloaded movies have a 5.1ch then audio is perfect. Music is also great especially tracks with a heavy bass, the woofer just blows and you just wanna party O0

I would say that not all TVs are created equal and that the branded TV are priced a bit higher for the reason that they are more reliable than the others. Accordingly, you pay extra for the peace of mind for buying the branded ones. Anyhow, even the branded ones have lemons too....

We have a devant 32" LCD tv at my parents' place. It still working, even if it is always on everyday, bought about 2 yrs ago. So far there have been no trouble whatsoever.
I guess it depends on the unit you get.

Save a bit by buying no name TVs but spend more when it break, or give you problems.
You get what you pay for.

What other big brands have the same price with the Devant HDTVs? Because the only big brands I am aware of are Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Sony and Sharp. And if I were to buy their 42i HDTVs, the price tag would really differ with Devant's 42i. ^-^

I don't own a Devant. However, if price is your only concern for choosing a Devant, well, try looking at the PDVD marketplace first. As you can see from the previous post, they come close or lower than certain Devant models. But how about features? PQ and SQ are not the only things you should look at.
Features such as how many HDMI inputs (very important), RCA audio out (important to me), component and/or composite in, optical/digital out, headphone/earphone out, VGA input, HD Ready or Full 1080p HD, built-in digital tuner, etc. These features serve as convenience and usability for the end-user.

I own a 42" DEVANT which we purchase at around 29K in SM Appliance center. It's one month of daily use and still OK. It decodes most of the video files I have.

style nila... they give extra commission to sales guy...(everytime naghahanap ako tv... dadalhin ako ng sales guy talaga sa devant.. ipupush devant kahit im looking for another brand)
in the end we still get a generic tv after paying full price..
generic tvs are fine.. bang for buck.. but dont pay branded price for them.. (even avision and prestiz na palagay ko very nice generic tvs... dont ask for branded price)

For that price the Toshiba model should be considered at the almost same size spec of 40 inch.
I have heard from a sales person that the wall mounting of Devant is sometimes not the standard size. Not sure if this is true but just like to share.

All i can say on Devant Brand TV is buy at your own risk…I bought a 50GL510 on the biggest mall in pasay last July 13,2013 – Saturday TBH i really like the PQ of this tv comes with the vivid motion is superb but last night monday after 3 days while watching movie a vertical line appears in the center it flickers so much it consumes the half part of the screen…i was so very very very disappointed it got broke easily…and im now worrying if the replacement of this item will last for a year or maybe weeks only…whats my assurance that the replacement i will get is lemon??? : (

the LG LN57 series has been getting good feedback from consumers. may 120hz trumotion siya. yun nga lang 42" lang siguro makukuha mo at that price. mura talaga devant if price lang and laki ng screen ang titingnan

naku, hindi na nagpost si TS after seeing the prices. research does pay off.

Sa mga nagrecommend salamats matagal ko din pinagisipan so hindi ko pinareplace ng ibang unit id still get the same model siguro yung nakuha ko is a defective unit kaya after 3 days bumigay na agad...so far the replacement i had receive is still doing its job well wala pa ako nakikitang problem like bleeding, lines etc. its open 8hrs to 15 hrs everyday. Its almost 2 months na itong Devant 50GL510 ko sana magtagal ng 2 years or more para makuha nya respect ko kahit papanu. Siguro i just give devant a chance kaya di ko pinareplace ng ibang brand.
May Hisense na din pala sa pinas at techpoint din ang nagdidistribute correct if im wrong.
I notice yung tv model ng Hisense 50K360G is same specs and bezel with Devant 50GL510 hindi kaya rebranded lang ang devant which is a Hisense tv?

I bought my Devant 42" LCD TV DE850 model last Dec. 2011, use 10hrs a day and havent experience any headache yet :)

So far wala naman backlight bleeding yong nabili kong 50" Devant for the livingroom... My wife and the helpers are quite satisfied with it.

i have a devant 32 inch lcd tv and its still working its 3 yrs na! im a fun of devant because i saw them from the very start evolve until now, they have amazing picture quality nice technology and elegant design...maganda yung 50 inch nila ngayon 50gl510 kung kaya ng budget mo yun nalang bilihin mo baka kasi maliitan ka pa in future..ka2lad ko im planning to buy it this nov..yung 39 inch nila ata nasa 21k srp im not sure..consider this brand dude! this is nice

devant is generic.. priced a tad cheaper than samsung/lg/sony... minsan same price.. tapos bibigyan ka ng free smaller tv / player /surround..
1) i am not going to pay branded price for a generic tv..
2) if i want a big tv pero budgeted... i would go generic pero generic price..

i have a friends who have very bad experience with devant... there are alot of choices out there.. better specs and better price pa... so i see no reason para magtiis sa devant...
i like buying generic tvs... pansin ko.. generic tvs are really not as good as branded ones.. there are flaws talaga.. minsan small flaws lang naman na we can ignore nadin dahil sa mura naman..
examples:
backlight bleeding
weak wifi
channel display too small for panel
menu lacking
channels magulo ang arrangement
pero i have 2 friends na kasi na sobrang nadismaya sa devant
friend1) bought 2 of your tvs buy 1 big tv and get 1 smaller tv free.. sira ng sira kahit under warranty.. after warranty.. natuluyan nadin
friend2) got a tv from your warehouse sale.. dalawa sila.. nagtext pa sakin nagyaya.. kayalang di ako nakasama.. pag uwi.. pareho may problema.. tapos nung huli parang lumalabas warehouse sale pala.. openbox.. (i dont know kung sinoli ba or display units or maybe repaired?)

For me devant tv is nice and have better picture quality i have a devant tv 32 inch and its 3 years now still working... i think there is called manufactures defect and its common and happen also all the brands..just to make sure when you purchase a tv there is a good after sales service more longer much better i think devant had a platinum service that u may used of those have a problem..but for me im still happy and satisfied stick devant!

How much mo nabili yung 42WIZ830 mo sir? I don't care about the smart features, at siguro sa 3D na din. Pero atleast andun lang yung feature, magagamit ko lang siguro yung 120hz vivid motion pero depende sa papanoorin hehe. At pwede pasabi na din kung san nabili hehe thanks!

happy new year! i just need to revive this devant thread out of necessity and for the sake of other devant users.
for me, i didnt buy a devant. its been my rule to buy only branded appliances like led tv because of their reliability. however, maybe out of luck, i won a Devant 40 GL510 LED TV thru a christmas raffle during our christmas party.
my inquiry is the usb supported files.kc ang nakasulat jpeg, mp3 at mkv lang ang usb supported files na usb 2.0 pa, does it mean na hindi nya kaya basahin ang .avi at .mp4 files and paano pag usb 3.0?
to all devant users and to anyone who know, please i need an answer. ty

A faster way to check this out is actually check the file if magpplay. I'm pretty sure it will. Pero test mo pa din Brad.

na claim ko na ung Devant LED tv ko kanina napanalunan ko sa raffle, ang model pala Devant 40DL520. hehe. im happy and very much satisfied kc kaya naman pala nya i read ang .avi at .mp4 files ko. it comes with a free wall bracket pero hindi ko kinabit sa wall kc im not comfortable sa wall setup baka kc mahulog ang isa pa, mahirap mag kabit sa likod pag nasa wall.
i read about a lot of negative comments sa Devant, i expected poor quality pero ok naman ang performance kanina, saka malinaw. no problem so far maybe because its my first day of use.
it is indicated na 2 years warranty, pero i noticed made in China, not made in Singapore. pero mukhang ok naman so far.

second day of my Devant LedTech TV. So far, still good naman and quite surprised with its high quality nice images, maganda naman like my Sony LED TV. Bakit ang mga reviews panget daw quality. no problems so far, sana wag naman masira agad.

napansin ko pala Devant LEDTech TV walang FM radio as compared to my Sony LED. but the quality same lang, maganda at malinaw. Same quality but at less than 3k yata ang price. Devant is cheaper, pero may mas mura pa yung Myview Brand.

At first I was skeptic about the negative feed backs about Devant. Until I bought one (in a leading appliance store in Makati) and experienced it recently. I bought the 50" UltraHD (50UHV130), 3D and Smart TV. Before buying tested all features in the appliance store - Internet TV, 3D and the USB media player and all was good and Ok. Even bought the wireless keyboard and mouse to complement their flimsy remote control. Got home excited and unpack all the stuff. Again, just to make sure, tested the features and connected to my home wi-fi and cable which was all good and Ok. Decided to test and watch with my media player to check the PQ of the Ultra HD by playing HD movies and it was great...
Now comes the biggest disappointment. :(...after more than 5 hours of testing again the features (Internet TV and 3D) setting the correct PQ, and finally watch my favorite HD movie, the display went BLANK! you can now only hear the audio of the HD movie I was watching. At first, I thought somebody might have mistakenly played with the control but after powering on and off many times, there is no more picture in the screen and worst no more audio despite the fact that the DeVant word is lighted (meaning it is powered ON). Also, you can no longer see the DeVant word when powering up the unit. Sayang...maganda pa naman iyong PQ and features of this model.
I will then go back to the Appliance Store where i bought this unit less than 24 hours after purchased. Sobrang hassle and sayang sa gas, parking and effort (bigat pa naman ilagay sa auto ng unit na ‘to). I will then test if the DeVant Sales people will walk the talk if they can immediately replace my unit should it conked out less than 1 month upon purchase.
My thinking is that this is just unfortunate that I got a defective unit (which can happen to any brand as well) and nothing more...
Will keep you all posted what happens next.

I heard no insurance company would no longer agree in providing extended warranty for Devant tvs. Can anyone confirm this, including the reason for it?

Last night yung CB520 model ng tv namin di gumana ang 120hz motion nya, nawala ang soap opera effect na dati ay meron, sinubukan namin e- turn off and on at gumana uli, natural lang ba yun na minsan nangyayari na para bang computer na erereboot para maging normal ili?

Those things happen though I couldn't say it's normal, pero that's lesser evil than what the other Devant users experienced. :D

Got my replacement unit today. So far, so good and now testing the unit again. Was told that I am the first 1 to ask for a replacement for that particular model. Sales people have been accommodating during the replacement process and was even sorry for what happened. Was satisfied with their post sales support.
How was your replacement unit so far? Nagkaproblema pa ba or ok na sya? How much mo nabili ang Devant 50UHV130 mo? A salesman at Western Appliances suggested to me to buy this brand/model. I was planning to buy LG kaya lang mas expensive sya. I need ur info/review before i make my final decision. Thanks.

i paid 22k for my sister's black is very black... that was around 2 or 3 weeks ago

mas malaki ang commision sa devant compared sa ibang brands.. kaya medyo natural sa mga ahente ipush items nila

Gusto ko sana ng smart tv na may cinema3D din. Im looking at LG brand. Ano ba best brand with this features na hindi masyado expensive? Tempting ung devant kasi nasa kanya ung gusto kong features kaya lang im not sure if trusted brand sya. I heard a lot of negative feedbacks sa kanya kya lang dating back to 2013 pa ung posts. 2years have passed, ganun pa rin kaya ang performance nya or nag improve na. I hope bloggers here can give feedback if ok na ba ang devant or stick na lang ako sa LG. Or if may mas ok pang other brands/models anybody can suggest. Thanks!

i have nothing against generic tv... its ok to buy generic tv.. if gusto mo ng malaki and yun ang budget... i would definitely agree.. but 40k is too much for a generic tv...
toshiba 55L2400 was 35k nung meron stock.. ngayon yata phaseout na.. baka inubos na para sa 2015 models na papasok...
my personal tv sa room is an LG.. 2010model but i got it 2011... sale din.. hehe.. no regrets still...
its your choice if you want 3d but... imho... i never used my 3d and smart feature... nung bago... lang try lang.. 3d 3d.. tapos suot ng glasses.. wow 3d nga... tapos 1 movie lang yata pinanood ko with 3d glasses.. hehe

Money-wise kung Basic tv lng, ok na ang toshiba 55L2400. I think SRP now is P27+ ;)

Sir for me, owning both 32"LCD & 42"Plasma 3d ok ang LG. For 3d i find more immersive ang bigger screen, sa 42" kasi bitin eh ewan ko lang sa 55". Sa smartTV naman, according sa mga reviews dito ok ang webos ng LG. Try to audition 3 brands that you choose and sabay mo sila i-demo para makita mo yung difference.

sir advice ko sa u ang bilhin mo TV, kung gusto mo talaga ng maganda at matibay pangmatagalan, mag SONY ka na para sure.
I have both Sony and Devant TV. kc ang LG at Samsung, Korea lang din naman yan, matibay pa rin ang Sony although yung Devant TV ko ok pa rin naman up to now, pangit lang mga reviews.

What model? Devant is hit and miss. I have friends who have good experience, and same number who have bad experience with Devant.

I have both Sony and Devant,same age of almost two years now.
so far,ok pa rin naman sila pareho, the only difference is mas mahal ang Sony. hehe. at first i fear Devant because its unknown brand to me. but Devant is still fine up to now.
in my opinion, its how you use or abuse your unit. or siguro naging swerte lang ako sa Devant ko. :)

I just favor plasma over anything else in fact I bought a 65 inches led and had it replaced after a week with a 60 in plasma.

i got the 32 sold it after 2 weeks i posted it here
upgraded sa 40 with free 24inch sold it both
i got the 50 inches stopped there
then after 2 years span ng 50 inches ko
showing symptoms of horizontal line on upper right corner
then suddenly Double Image Flickering BAM !

Hi, I have a devant 27" and my brother has a 32" led tv and both are still working. No issues so far. Our office has a lot of them and running almost 24/7 not sure if they had issues but never saw one being replaced. If I were you I'd check the offices and stores in malls kung anong brand ng tv ginagamet nila for ads or promos nila sure kasi un na running ng 12 hours a day, everyday.

wag ka ng mag Devant kung gusto mo talaga matibay just buy Sony for your peace of mind.
almost 2 years na Devant ko pero so far no issues pa naman,halos sabay sila ng Sony.
pero Sony talaga matibay though more expensive pero sulit kasi durable.

but then it's you money....
my devant remote gave up, but since i use a box. i do not miss that
remote much....me control buttons naman sa set mismo...

I just have a problem with my Devant 50DTV700 (Smart TV)
when I power it on, the LED indicator states that it is on (blue from red)
I can see that the TV lit up but I cant see anything.
Was wondering what is wrong with my unit or if somebody had already experienced this issue and what steps were taken to remedy this.

Call the Devant Service. Could be power supply or control panel.

Just want to hear your thoughts on this. I am very interested in getting the 50 inch UHV300. PQ and motion rate is great. But I have heared the only negative issue is it's dimming capability. How important is it? Because if it is tolerable, then I guess this thing is worth it. Am I right?

i was able to buy a replacement remote control for 500 pesos...service seems decent, they are in pasig, google nyo na lang for exact location, very accessible naman...i have never had a tv set die on me yet...

3 years na yung 49" na devant namin - so far so far 8)
BTW if you have a phone with IR Blaster you could use that as a remote
with my Xiaomi I could turn on/ off TV's & aircons but net is needed to get the data for the first time
