Just managed to watch Netflix's House of Cards episode 1 which is produced and partly directed by David Fincher. Stars Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright and Kate Mara (Rooney's older sister). Kevin Spacey plays the lead role of Representative Frank Underwood, House Majority Whip and consummate political animal in this political drama.
Honestly, I didn't even look online for the synopsis when I read who were involved. I'll watch anything by Fincher and you should too.

This series was recommended to me by a former colleague who is now living in Canada. We were chatting after we both completed watching Breaking Bad. One of the topic that we discussed is what series to watch next as at that time most of the other series I was watching just had their season finale. After a week, he mentioned that he had a marathon of House of Cards, and he said that it was also as good as Breaking Bad. It does not have the action of Breaking Bad, it's a political drama.
I did not really take up his advice, but this weekend coming back from a long trip from US, I had a chance to watch the first 6 episodes during flight from Detroit to Nagoya. I got hooked right away. It is highly recommended, and I'm starting to download all episodes now.

Just finished watching the last episode of Season 2. Grabe, it's been a while that a TV show would make me smile and giggle with anticipation as to what happens next. It gave me the same excitement as 24, but this one is really something different. Kelan kaya Season 3?

i just finished season 1 today ... and just to let everyone know how good this tv series is, i held off watching the last 2 episodes of 24 just to watch the whole of season 1 ... up to now pending pa ko to watch episodes 3 and 4 of 24

it is really good ... it was recommended to me by a former colleague a few months ago, but i hesitated watching it because there was not even a discussion thread here ... i only got the chance to watch the first 6 episodes when i was on flight going to US a few weeks ago, and first thing i did when i got back home is to download the rest of the series ... too bad wala pang season 3

Just finished Season 1 and The first two episodes of season 2 and I'm blown away by Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.
If you're going to catch up with this series watch it from Season 1 EP1 til Season 2 Ep1; and then get yourself a smoke. I found my eyes getting wide open and cursing.
Kudos to Netflix, David Fincher and Spacey for backing this series up. The acting is simply exquisite; no flat emotions from the two leads even if the scene calls for restraint.
Spacey gives life to his anti hero character with such passion and enthusiasm that I find myself completely empathising and disliking his character at the same time!
Kate Mara though is very flat and just goes to show that if you're gonna share screen time with Spacey you better bring your acting chops to the scene.
This show is my new favorite and is a testimony to the new TV Renaissance happening in Hollywood.
13 hours well wasted on a very involving story, 3D characters and deft story telling that allows a character to truly unfold so the show doesn't rely on plot gimmicks that are tired and cliche.
Even with a traditional linear story line and a classic political slow burn plot; HOC manages to inject life in the diabolical workings of the mostly boring political arena.
BRAVO NETFLIX!

first episode was quite boring but once you get passed it the story keeps on getting better. I finished the 2 seasons in 1 week! can't wait for season 3! :D

House of Cards Season 3 just started on regular broadcast but the entire season is already available in iTunes and torrent sites. Why do the producers do that? Not that Im complaining. Thats 13 weeks of waiting instantly saved.

i think its a netflix thing to do that. haha.. happy they did it, you do not have to wait the 13 weeks to finish the season.

‘House Of Cards’: Production On Netflix Series Suspended Indefinitely Following Kevin Spacey Allegations
Filming on the upcoming sixth and final season of Netflix’s Washington D.C.-set drama House of Cards has been suspended indefinitely. Cast and crew of the MRC-produced series were told of the shutdown this morning.
“MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on House of Cards season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew,” the two companies said in a joint statement to Deadline.
The news comes less than 24 hours after Netflix announced that House of Cards will end with its upcoming sixth season as allegations of unwanted sexual advances in 1986 by HoC star Kevin Spacey against then-14-year-old Anthony Rapp had emerged.

It was said season 6 was going to be the last season anyway and netflix and Spacey struck a deal to make it look like Spacey caused the cancellation.
