I had my sr5008 for a couple of weeks now. Everything was fine until yesterday. My center channel is outputting garbled sound (think voice with a lot of phlegm).
What I tried:
1. Changing speaker wire of center channel - didn't work
2. Changing center speaker - didn't work
3. Turning on and off, unplugging all wires/cables.
All other channels are fine though. It's weird and does not make sense at all. I tried to look for owners with the same issue as mine but to no avail.
Any ideas aside from hard resetting?
Thanks in advance.

Try this http://www.manualslib.com/manual/547237/Marantz-Sr5008.html?page=200.
But I would suggest to have it checked dun sa binilhan mo. I guess may warranty pa coz weeks old palang.

That's what I plan to do when I get home. Hopefully it will work... Yes still have warranty. Kakatamad lng pumunta sa shop kasi ang traffic ngayon!

For the meantime try mo: sa speaker settings turn center channel to none. then play a 5.1 or 7.1 movie track and check if the dialog is still garbled. if ok ang dialog, sa center amp ang sira. try mo ulit set to small ang center. pag garbled pa rin, sa digital domain ang defect.
Whether the defect is in the digital path or the amplification stage, a trip to the service center is inevitable.

I did exactly that and dialog is fine when output to L and R channels. I also did try different sources but to no avail. I tried small and large, but still garbled.

That's what I am afraid of. :(
Thanks. Will update

Na test mo ba ang multi channel center analog input?

Hi, any update on this avr? My Marantz 1year & 2months old sr5008 all channels produced hazing then garbled sound. ( after 5 to 10 sec of turning on biglang mag hazed and then after 5 sec garbled sounds na, all testing are done ganun parin). Any ideas on this. Thanks.

Ni-reset mo na? Try to play in "Direct" mode. Try the AMP IN terminals kung meron.
