However, given that Toshiba has now 2 year warranty, I'm willing to give it another shot.
One annoying issue that I had with my former Tosh unit was the cable channels gets messed up. I had to manually configure the channels.Another one was the slow response of the tv when switching channels. Has Tosh fixed these issues? Any owners of Toshiba 55L2400?

For me, mas matibay ang tosh kasi brother ko and ung friend ko lagpas 5 yrs na ung kanila wala pa ring issue. Di nga lang ganun kaganda ung PQ. Pero ano pipiliin mo PQ or durablity? :)

Medyo may issues lang yung lower models with motion resolution (medyo mas visible ang ghosting) because their "ClearScan" technology isn't as effective as more sophisticated implementations from competing brands.

If you're not sensitive to black trailing, you should be fine. The image below (right side) is what's common with recent Toshiba TVs:

Sony and Samsung TVs also exhibit this, but processing compensates for it somewhat (making less visible... kind of like the left image).

Settled for a LG 49LB6200 FOR 36.9k cash, the look in my son's face when he saw the 3D demo is priceless :). Not to mention the awesome price point and its the only unit (budget of under 40K) that was able to play an MKV file with DTS sound (tried Skyworth, Sharp, Philips, Toshiba, Samsung, Haier).

I was also offered this tv yesterday for roughly 36 k (plus wall bracket) and according to the product specialist, it already has CEVO Engine (http://www.regza-asia.com/styles/media/pdf/Product_Spec_P-L2400_00_Range.pdf). This is what I'm now considering instead of the TCL 55 4K or the Devant 55CB520.yup better to invest sa branded na tested na

But coming from a plasma tv, I really missed the black levels of plasma. I think hindi pa kaya tapatan ng entry LEDs ang pagka deep black ng plasma. one advantage of this tv over plasma eh hindi reflective ang screen hehe, pero for image quality I still prefer plasma. hindi ko pa ma-timpla yung correct settings for this.
also, walang audio output when playing mkv files with DTS audio. although even on my previous tv, I don't use it's built-in media player.

congrats. Thats a nice TV. When you manage to get the settings right it will be just as close to a Plasma. Came from a plasma unit as well and that was my first observation when I got the Tosh55L2400.

Yes I agree that the built in speakers from this TV is a step above the ones that I currently have. The only hassle sa Toshiba talaga is when you switch channels when watching TV. It takes 2 to 3 seconds. I though they were able to solve this issue already but apparently they did not. All in all its bang for the buck.

Check your units. My friend replaced his Tosh for having awful backlight bleeding. The replacement came and it, too, has the problem.
