I think the Polk RTi series is better for home theater use. if you'll be using your setup 100% for music use, I'd suggest getting LSiM703 bookshelf speakers instead.  :)

Kung limited sa Polk ang choices, I have to agree with you. ;D

sir most likely you've heard this setup already given that its coming from LIS...a lot may not favor the A9 for pure audio listening but it subjective eh. bka maganda sya nung 8005 na yung amp? given that setup, you'll be spending at least 150k more or less.....there are lots of setup for 150k na mas maganda jan.(sa akin lang po :))

ex:
yung liuto w/stand ni superman 90k (kung gusto mo full range...AN)
line magnetic int amp 50k
rega rp3 30k
cd5004 15k

The best ang slim FS for smallish to mid-size rooms.

PSB Imagine T2 + NAD 375bee.

PANGET tunog ng Polk.

Depende sa listener and depende sa bookshelf..

sa akin kahit floorstander pag walang subwoofer = FAIL :)

For 2 channel listening, sa akin ok lang na walang subwoofer basta mag-start mag-roll off ang lows sa 20hz pababa.  ;)

If from the same maker & model line, i will take floorstanders over bs anytime
footprint in most cases would be the same since bookshelfs would require stands. yung ipambibili mo ng good quality stands idagdag mo na lang sa budget mo & get the fs  ;)

For pure music listening, would suggest to get floor standing multi drivers of at least 3 way configuration.

It would be better if you can indicate the price of each hardware so that we can offer alternatives.

To repeat my post on the initial thread, skip the Marantz CD5004 and upgrade to the UD7007.
I came from the same set-up and experienced first hand the advantages of the UD7007.

If ever I need to have a sub for audio setup... It should be sealed type, as others recommended based on their experience...

Fail pa rin yan... di kaya yung sonic canon sa The Hulk  :)

2 channel music listening nga daw kaya wala naman atang sonic canon and below 20hz.  ;D

Pero you still have a point, may mga certain music ata na may frequencies below 20hz.

For pure music listening, would suggest to get floor standing multi drivers of at least 3 way configuration.

Yan lang din ang problem ko, is to find a BS or FS that can give a smooth response (+/- 4db) till 20 hz.  ;D

And if it's "Somewhere out there", I'm sure hindi ko afford.

Title: Re: Two Channel Set up

mga 150 k po ang budget, I realy like the Rti a9"s busog po ang tunog nya pag maganda ang audio source (CD)  pero pang nag vinyl ka bitin (Manipis), what do you guy's think? kailangan ba ako mag add ng power Amp ? if yes ano pwede partner ng marantz pm8005, thanks ....

chief ano na po nabili mo na gears? do you have the marantz already? ano ba sir hinahanap nyo sa speaker, yung mabaho, o yung claro at detalyado? btw if yung vinyl listening ninyo manipis ang tunog dun sa A9, ang problema dun sir yung turntable ska yung cart nyo.... yung denon fully automatic na may built in phono pre, if i were you ill stay away from that...

audition audition lang muna sir, dont rush into buying to avoid future regrets. marami pang mas magandang music setup than marantz+polk rti combo.

Dont rush... daming stores aside from LIS. There is Architectural Audio in Greenbelt.  Audio Amplified in Ortigas.

May Sonos Faber pa sa Makati Cinema Square

What is your listening habits ba ? Loud ? Mahilig sa Bass ? type of music ?

You mentioned busog yung tunog nung polk sa CD, pero sa Vinyl manipis, then ibig sabihin manipis ang tunog ng Vinyl, Nothing wrong with the amp if happy ka sa tunog ng Polk.

150K .. I would spend around 90K sa speakers, 40K sa amp and 20K sa source ..cables libre na dapat yan sa dealer if your getting all from one store, just dont ask for expensive cables.

Technically its still is 2.0 as stereo does not have the extra ".1" channel. We just used 2."1" to denote that we use a subwoofer.  Sana maging 2."2" na yung system ko when funds allow.....kailan kaya ?

sir ang problema jan yung denon na turntable. walang problema yung marantz at rti A9. since may sarili syang preamp so sa line input sya nakasaksak. hindi ko lang alam sir kung pwedeng ma bypass yung built in preamp nya para maisaksak mo sa phono input nung marantz integrated? ska anong cart at album ginamit nilang pang demo? buti wala si boss JR at JOHN C jan, kundi bka masabon pa yung salesman. isipin mo deal breaker yung turntable. he gave you a mid level amp and speaker tapos ipares sa entry level TT!

tuloy ba tayo chief sa AIRFORCE 1? ;D ;D ;D

Can the TS expound more sa meaning niya ng manipis tumunog?

How about below amp and speaker

Hegel H80
Amphion Helium 520 (since you prefer floorstander)
You can also use a dvd player (if you have) as transport and connect to digital inputs of the Hegel

Could also be the phono pre-amp from the amp. The vinyl that was uses or even the actual music that was played.

Agree on the hegel 80.  If the hegel can make the small Amphion Ion+ sing, how much more with the helium floor stander.
