Ugh.
MY trusty Altec Lansing 2.1 has one of the speakers torn. I am now in the market for an affordable replacement. My old one was an MX5021 model. Bought around 2003 or so.
Anyone can suggest a good pair that will sound great.
I usually watched movies and games as well as mp3s on my computer so I need one that will be good.
Any Suggestions

If you really like the sound of your speakers, pwede pang ipagawa naman yan kay Speaker Doctor.

Have the edge surround replaced na lang if you can, sayang naman, isang speaker lang naman ang may damage e. Para menos gastos.
Unless you really would like to upgrade na rin, then investing in separates (amp, speakers, sub) is the way, long term.

Medjo matindi na yan sir for a PC set-up. :)

Right now.. i am considering repairs na lang. Maganda naman kasi tong speaker na ito and if it can be repaired why not. Daan na lang ako after paydayand see kung ano magagawa.
Honestly would like to keep this anyways kaya let's hope na maaayos. Dalin ko na lang yung left and right speakers. dont think i can bring the sub din bigat nun haha

Naala niyo noong nagsesetup ako ng Mac? Naghahanap ako ng X-mini para lang lumakas ang tunog. Saan nauwi? Full blown audio setup he he.
But I know the value of 2.1 pc systems. You get something way better than laptop sound, cheaply and hassle free.

Madaming ganyan dito. Yun mga iba, instead of buying PC speakers, they ended up buying an HTiB kasi nakapa-reasonable naman talaga ng price ng mga HTiB. Imagine mo, for less than P10,000, may front left, right, center and surround speakers ka na, may sub ka pa. And your player w/ built-in amp can decode the 5.1 up na audio sound. Sa PC speakers kasi, limited ka lang sa 2 speakers. Another thing to consider din, lalo na sa current trend ngayon, ang mga games are encoded na din sa 5.1 audio. Mas-immersive naman kasi ang 5.1 vs 2.1 system.
Pero siempre, depende pa din sa TS kung gusto niyang mag-level up from 2.1 after more than 5 years of using his current system, for a fraction of a cost. ;D

But I know the value of 2.1 pc systems. You get something way better than laptop sound, cheaply and hassle free.
Easy to connect, portable din kahit paano, hindi na din tunog am radio. ;D

sir, pa repair mo na lang yan sa kakilala mo para wala ng gastos...
pero kung wala kang kakilala na libreng repair kc magastos din parepair, at gagastos ka na rin lang sa labor at pyesa, bili ka na lang ng brand new HTIB na mura, ganda ng sounds,may warranty pa. kc ang repair, masisira lang din agad.
may resale value naman ang HTIB, pag ayaw mo na, pwede u pa ibenta.

my Altec Lansing CS-33 2.1 is 14 years old, still going strong...

and TS has bought his speakers in 2003, so its about 12 years now..until one of the speakers is torn.

I suggest the creative 2.1 a320 computer speakers. Mura lang maganda (decent) tunog.

Ako naman considering a small soundbar na swak sa length ng 23" monitor. May guilt kasi ako using my tube amp the whole day for normal pc system sounds.

I would also go the sound bar route for the TS' solution.

kung ayaw mo na Atlec Lansing, try mo Creative, Edifier, or Logitech brands
kung gusto mo ng mas mura, cdr king.

If you want something for music listening....I have the Magni and Modi DAC connected to my computer and Sennheiser headphones

You can use the A2 with the Modi (they have one with an optical input) if you want to connect it to the tv
