The company website that released the artwork for the Star Wars Trilogy has now posted what would appear to be several designs for next years James Bond 40th Anniversary Boxset which should be arriving in October. This twenty disc film compilation is expected to feature newly remastered transfers and audio for each of the classic Bond films. MGM have yet to officially announce the release, so we're unable to confirm any of this information at the moment. We will of course let you know if we hear anything further. For now though, here's an exclusive first look at the early package designs

nonetheless,i think superb ang picture quality ng dvd's included in this collection 8)..HD-DVD,come 2006,will be much of a higher price than standard dvds 8)

it would be more likely to have a THX treatment and DD-EX sound..but i hope din DTS na.. 8)

Now I don't feel so bad na hindi ako namakyaw ng Bond discs nung last Astro sale. 8)
I probably won't be able to afford that sweet looking display case, so I hope mag-release na rin sila agad ng individuals. Besides, I DON'T want to HAVE to own a copy of Die Another Dreck. ;D

20 james bond movie titles in one box set gloriously packaged might be equivalent in price to about seven or eight nextbase DVD players. ;D

Lowry Digital, the group that did the digital masters for the Star Wars trilogy and THX1138 is still working on new Hi-Def digital remasters for Goldfinger and the early Connery movies. Also the recent buy-out of MGM by a group led by Sony could mean either Superbit Bond titles or better yet HiDef DVD releases.

Decided to use the generic term (not HD-DVD or Blu-ray) since it is still up in the air whether or not there is going to be a unified high definition DVD format given that:
(1) there's the DVD Forum's decision (the inter-industry consortium set up to coordinate the development of the current DVD standard) to back Toshiba/NEC's so-called "HD-DVD"
(2) Sony's announcement that they may go it alone on Blu-Ray (the better standard)

naka tatlong james bond pa lang ako,pero malinaw na yung dating labas. sana may mga individual releases at kung mas maganda talaga, double dip uli sa tatlo at bibili pa ako ng view to a kill at die another day

Will definitely get this also. Was looking for the old release kya lang the PQ is not that good daw so decided not to get the titles. Buti na lang this one came out na. does anyone of you guys can provide a link?

the HK LE looks better.. and the R1/R4 planned releases are far more superior in terms of design.

The HK release indeed looks better but the disc features are the same as individual release. Poor PQ & SQ. I wonder what's R1 cooking. Maybe in HD release. All of the old Bond films certainly need improvement in PQ & SQ. I will certainly not miss this opportunity to get this. I've sold my previous sets for this. :)
I hope the barrel gun packaging will push through. :)

Heard that the 2-disc editions will be available by 5s per collection by November 7th. Can anyone confirm this? ;)

im a 007 addict and fan, yes read about this release and reviews say its is worth getting because it will be dts and remastered ata, its picture is way better compared to the special editions. Does anybody have this? Worth ba the upgrade, Saw it in HMV hong kong it cost 3500 hkdollar. Anybody know where to get this locally. ( If I can afford it ) Thanks

The R2 got less than favorable reviews on PQ on the Home Theater Forum. Some issues on framing and color correction (e.g. the golden girl in Goldfinger was improperly color balanced). Am having second thoughts about getting this set since there was talk of this being a flagship release on Blu-Ray.
