Got a new bluray player SONY BDP-S1500 bundled with The Amazing Spiderman 3D/2D bluray
Got it as a gift & that's the best part hehe ;D ;D ;D
BD - Region A, DVD - region 3
Here are my reviews
pros:
- super fast boot (1-2 secs)
- super fast load (less than 5 secs)
- has usb slot that supports many file formats (tested on majority of my .mkv files with no hiccup)
- 300+ Streaming Apps: Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video and more (not yet tested)
- PlayStation Now (not yet tested)
- Super small size, like the size of a cable digibox
- small remote
cons:
- no lcd display
- outputs are only HDMI & coaxial cable (no biggie)
- no wifi (must use LAN cables)
- power cable is a bit thin
- no exaust fan (like my old BDP-S360 but di naman gaano umiinit yung unit)
- physical buttons on player is only power & eject
For me the cons are not really a big issue. The best factor for me is the boot time....even the movie Avatar which takes my old Sony S360 about a minute or 2 to load, now seconds lang dito sa S1500 series.
And I really like the small/petite size of the unit....fits my rack perfectly (mahaba pa yung kinect sensor)

Thanks for sharing your review. I'm planning to get one myself. Should meet my needs as I'm not really into 3D. Hard to beat its price range 🍻

bibilhin ko na dapat ito kanina sa sony trinoma kaya lang out of stock na. they are selling it for 3.1k. tumingin din ako sa ibang shops kaya lang wala din silang available stocks pwera lang sa abenson's pero ang mahal naman sa kanila 3.8k.

AFAIK, region A is mostly in US, parang 2 regions lang ata ang bluray, A & B kung di ako nagkakamali
dvd naman nakakita na ako ng Region 4 (Australia galing), Region 1 (mostly US), region 3 (mga nakikita ko pag sa local store natin binili)

was able to borrow the PS4 of my friend. i played blu ray discs from us and australia. all are working. when i tried to play the dvd i bought in the AU, it did not work :(
