Title: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
Post by: AshKetchum on Jan 16, 2016 at 10:48 AM: Netflix has ordered 13 episodes for their adaptation of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, based on the best-selling children's books by Daniel Handler. Paramount Television is producing the series in association with Netflix and Handler, who is one of the executive producers. Initially, Mark Hudis was named as showrunner, but has since left the project.

While casting for the roles of the Baudelaire siblings are ongoing, Netflix has announced that Neil Patrick Harris will play Count Olaf, who was played by Jim Carrey in the 2004 movie.

After a wide search and an open casting call for the two young leads of Violet and Klaus, Malina Weissman (Supergirl) has been cast as Violet in Netflix’s series adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events. Newcomer Louis Hynes will play Klaus.

A Series of Unfortunate Events: Netflix Series to End with Season 3

Neil Patrick Harris has confirmed that the Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events will end with Season 3, according to TV Guide. The third season will handle the final books in the series by Lemony Snicket, but fans have been speculating about whether or not the show will continue. Harris told the site,“We’re three seasons all in. We’ve intentionally been very truthful and factual and loyal to the books. We’ve added a few characters that aren’t in the books, we’ve added some songs that you probably couldn’t put into the books, but for the most part we’re sticking to the structure of what already worked.”

Based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), season two of the Netflix original series plunges further into the epic world of this darkly comedic mystery. Executive produced by Emmy Award-winner Barry Sonnenfeld and Daniel Handler – the new season of A Series of Unfortunate Events consists of ten cinematic one-hour episodes.
