Title: Yamaha Service Center
Post by: bejiboys on Apr 21, 2003 at 01:53 AM
Can anybody provide details where the authorized yamaha service center is located.  My AVR broke, hu hu.  Standby mode always.  I don't want to bring it to the dealer as it takes them quite a while to bring it to the service center.  Appreciate your help.  Thanks.

Hi Alfa,

I believe my 795a was repaired by the shop mentioned by dexterc, Audio World. Actually, ang kausap ko noon ay si Sonny (Home Theater). He was the one who arranged the pick-up/delivery of my unit from/to his shop.

Great service... after diagnosis, they will call you first about their findings and cost of repair though in your case it's likely that it's the power supply.

By the way, Dexterc, are you affilliated with the shop? Why "We carry.... we also...."? O baka naman ikaw ang may ari.... :)

Cheers!!!

Success at last, my Yamaha CDV W901 is back in action, but not because it was repaired by Yamaha Service Center in Banawe Area. After 5 days or so of testing and trying to find out what was the problem with my unit, i finally decided to pull out my unit unrepaired because they dont have the schematic diag nor they have the spare parts on hand for the allege repairs needed.  Sa Japan pa daw mangaling. So I thought, ba, matagal yan. Beside, I really doubt that the problem of my player is that serious, because in the first place my unit is just abt 5 months in usage (bought it last March 03). Nowhere to go, i go straight to the repair guys at Greenhills and bwalaa!!, my unit was repaired in just 1 hr of waiting.
This is just to share my repair experience with service centers. Lesson learned: Pag di kaya ng service center, dont lose hope, we have these guys at Greenhills to do the job on the spot. Cheers!!

hi rebac, how much did the guys in greenhills charge you? did that come with warranty? does the warratny cover service and parts, or service lang?

can anyone please recommend any shop that has reliable service other than those mentioned in the above posts?

my yamaha receiver, model rx-v1070, LOST its sounds! i need help badly. there is still power so the power supply is still OK. what happens is when i turn the receiver ON, the light in the volume knob "blinks" when it ususally does not. im guessing the power amplifier gave up or something. if anyone had experienced a similar thing with their yamaha unit or any unit for that matter, please can you PM me and recommend what to do?

Thanks a bunch guys!!  :)

I'm not sure if bringing your rxv to yupangco is a sound move.

I brought my rxv to them last January 15 because of auto shut-off/standby function and my unit is still with them. It took them until February 19 to troubleshoot my unit and give me the price quotation for components and repairs. It took them until March 19 to order the components and repair my unit.

However, my unit is still with them because of noticeable dents and scratches made by their technician. I am now made to believe to wait for the replacement front cover which will come from Japan.

Hi guys,

I bought my DVD player from Listening Group (Megamall Branch) two years and  I was wondering where is the service center for YAMAHA.  My DVD Player is a S510.

or can you help me with the diagnose with my problem.

1.  The player starts to freeze in a certain frame then jumps.
2.  The player hangs once in a while when reading the disc.

Would you think a disc cleaner will help?

Thanks.

Sa bandang south kaya meron silang service center? I need to send my int amp for repair para naman magamit. Madumi na kasi yung contact ng input selector. I opened it up pero di ko na pwedeng galawin yung input selector box which is remote controlled :P baka masira ko lang. I'm quite sure the contact only needs cleaning.

Q1: For those who import yamaha receivers, Do they honor global warranty (i.e buy in US, warranty claims locally at no cost for parts, and for labor)?
Q2: Do they repair locally by board or component level?
Q3:  How's the quality of repair?
Q4: if they charge you diagnostics (unrepaired) and full repair, how much?

I plan to get a receiver and looking at Yamaha cost of ownership for  post sales -- parts and  repair. importing them is tempting given the local prices

TIA

Base on my knowledge, local distributor of yamaha AV never honor international warranty. They only give 1 year warranty on parts and labor. As for board or component level repair, Audioworld always repair yamaha receiver in component level means parts by parts not replacing the whole board. Kung meron man thats the worst case, but only few. Thats what i know correct me if im wrong. Audioworld been repairing yamaha for a long time, they do accept other brand, so far so good. Alam ko 250 diagnostic nila then 1500 ang labor. call them at 742-6843.

Then looks like Yamaha 671 na ako siguro since na repair naman pala after 2 years us warranty. Just need peace of mind after warranty over a 5 year period dahil mabigat sa bulsa ang receiver :)

wait ko bumaba ng $400, malay mo

H E L P!

Can someone recommend a good repair shop for AVR other than Audioworld?

Wife informed that our AX1 suddenly wouldn't power on - hanggang TIK TIK sound lang but ayaw tumuloy.  She called Audioworld today and was informed that 2-3 months daw ang repair period - WHAT?  they haven't even diagnosed the unit and my wife told me that she used to be able to fix that by simply supporting the power cable.  Panic button ang wife because walang mapatugtugan ng Xmas Carols.

We used to go to that electronic repair shop in Virra Mall (2nd or 3rd floor) but I wonder if it's still there.  Anyways, any information would help. Perhaps a member actually does repair.   Regards!

Post by: audioworld on Dec 12, 2011 at 10:44 AM
Dear Sir, with regards to your HELP!!!!!!!! 2 to 3 months is the WAITING period for diagnosed units with no AVAILABLE parts .
We need to order the ORIGINAL parts for each diagnosed unit.
We give priority to those customers that reside in provinces or not within the metro.
Checking units for trouble might take 2 to 3 days , and not 2 to 3 months.
Maybe it's just that talking or conversing over the phone might cause some misunderstanding over details.
Hope that you still consider Audioworld for your repair service center.

Sorry if i had to resurrect this thread. Aside from Audioworld is there any other shops that can work on a receiver that was accidentally plugged sa 220. Preferably Makati or neighboring areas. I got this unit in the US so there's no warranty na. And nasa shop pa ang kotse for the next week at least. I think it will cost a lot to take a cab only to find out its just a busted fuse. (ceramic fuse so aside from visually inspecting it i dont have any knowledge how to check)

Hi Sirs,

I seek your kind advice regarding Yamaha AVR repair. I have an RXV-750. It just automatically shuts-off while in use.

I've back read this thread and found that there are many options but it's been suggested years ago already. I'd just like to ask if someone had a more recent experience regarding this.

Is there a service center or repair shop in or near Makati (besides Yupangco)? My last resort is audio world because of the location. Primary options would be somewhere nearer to Makati and with positive feedback.

Thanks in advance, Sirs.

Sir im planning to have my rx-v476. Mabasa kasi ito during typhoon yolanda. Local purchase po ito but not under warranty kasi 2011 ko ito nabili sa sns.
Kindly advise your address and contact details.

Thanks

I have a Yamaha RXV-1200. It has a damaged board. I guess mice might have peed on it.

Avesco (Yamaha service center) doesn't have parts for it na daw. :(

Does anybody have an idea who can fix this?

Reviving an old thread.

Please recommend a reliable service center besides Audioworld. My Yamaha receiver (locally purchased, out of warranty already) conked out last night. It didn't overheat, no burnt odor, no current spikes; it just turned off by itself without warning. Looks like the protection circuitry kicked in since the standby indicator blinks continuously whenever I try to turn the power on.

Thanks.

Did you get that locally?  or 110v yan?

I have an Onkyo (US model) that's been junked bec of the blinking red light— thermal protection.  Shop is charging too much to change a lot of parts.   I don't understand why it seems to be happening not only w/ Onkyo but with Yamaha din pala.

Put a fan over your Onkyo.  Prevents thermal shutdown

I remember the Yamaha official Svc center is in Marikina.  I used to have the number.

is that really the norm now?  I've given up on the receiver.  I brought it over to the official service centre of Onkyo.  Apparently the parts are real parts that comes from Japan pa.  Does anyone here know of a better place to get these fixed?

the challenge might be to find a service center ....anywhere.  Alabang is not that far from Manila or Makati.

Norm now due to climate change.. Put heatsink on the ic. Put fan on top. You can use laptop fan and cellphone charger.
