Title: How to watch Netflix with your HT set-up?
Post by: jods on Aug 27, 2016 at 08:45 PM
Hi! I have an LG smart tv connected to an Onkyo receiver. If I watch Netflix, I just use the crappy tv speakers. How can I watch it using my HT system?

Check the back of your tv and look for an optical out port.

Or if your TV and receiver supports ARC.

For me I use Apple TV then to my Denon receiver to decode the 5.1 signal.

I have an LG Smart TV as well but it has ARC. Connect HDMI (ARC) to your AVR (if with ARC).  Change settings in TV to output through ARC and turn Simplink ON.

You can use Google Chromecast connected into the TV HDMI input

Then through your laptop you can stream Netflix/Iflix movies via wifi into the Chromecast/TV

What's nice with this set-up is that it's wireless....
