Just bought a 2nd hand items at goodwill here in the u.s.
Tanong ko lang regarding connections sa subwoofer..
Eto yung sa denon avr-1602 na pic..

Eto naman sa sub na KLH Bassbite V.
Ang tanong ko..
1. San ko lalagay yung rca cable from denons pre out subwoofer jack to the klh R (low level input) or L (mono?)
2. Yung sagot sa unang tanong, gagamitin ko pa ba yung volume control ng sub o kaya ng kontrolin sa denon lahat?
3. Based sa pic sa baba mas okay ba ang s video sa rca?

1. Connect to mono (L).
2. You can use both although masmaganda to use your receiver's volume control. Usually you set the sub volume control to 0 (zero)

There was a thread or topic dito regarding that. It did produced stronger signals hence higher volume. Pero still, the power of your amplifier remains the same. For me, it could be matched by still using the mono and boosting the volume if you want more low frequencies.
Pero you can also try it. Mura lang naman ang RCA splitter.

I think it has something to do with the settings. Some receivers in stereo mode does not have sub output. Best wait for someone who is familiar with Denon. Have you tried playing movies in 5.1?

Not yet.. even when i tried attaching other speakers to the sorround and the center port of denon, it does not produce any sounds but the 4 speakers attached to the other ports does work. Meaning i can only play in stereo mode... :(
Hope denon users can help as well :)

Great! Now, can you tell me how your source player is connected to the Denon? (meaning...are you using RCA cables?)

Probably you need to reset the whole unit first to remove previous settings..if the unit has the feature

i don't think you can do the set-up without the remote. if you can find a button on the unit that says "system set-up", then you can do without it.
go to speaker settings and make all speaker "small". also choose "yes" for subwoofer. i recommend you use an optical cable so you can access 5.1 audio. after setting speakers, set input (dvd in your case) according to whether rca or optical port you will use.
subwoofer signal will also be dependent on what you are playing. if there is not much low frequency happening on the music or movie, then i don't think it will also work.

You can download the manual for your unit

The remote is very important for the set-up process.

Try to replace the cable first. If you are using generic RCA cables that are freebies when you buy the components chances are the noise enters that path.

A long time ago, I spent two and a half days diagnosing an amp that used bad RCA cables. The idea that the problem was staring at me for days hurt my self-esteem more than my brain. That lesson is now stuck with me for as long as I live.
