Title: My Media Room - Upgraded to Dolby Atmos

Sharing my simple set-up.

Samsung 55 KS9000
Onkyo TX-NR656
Hi-Media Q10 Pro paired with Synology NAS.

Speakers for Movies:
Polk Audio TSx 330T
Polk Audio TSx 250c
Polk Audio TSx 110b
Polk Audio PSW 110
Polk Audio SC 60

Music Speakers
PSB Image T5 - I love this speaker. I always think of upgrading this one but always end up not. Maybe may sentimental value talaga siya sa akin.

Musical Fidelity M1 vinl - phono stage

Sansui AUD - 707F Extra - out of all the amps I paired it with (Marantz, Rega, LM), for me bagay na bagay Sansui. Been a fan of Sansui amp ever since.

Yep nasa ceiling. Went with the ceilimg option. Initially I don't want to put on the grills kasi gusto ko sana black grills. When I tried it on nag blend naman sa mga lighting fixtures ko.

Thanks everyone.

Initially I was worried pag tabihin dalawang floorstanders baka di maganda effect. Wala naman ako na-noticed na pangit na effect. Sa PSB lang since lumayo distance between two speakers mas naging wide lang ang tunog which I like.

It's not a perfect configuration (i.e room, speaker placement) but I think the compromise done gave me an enjoyable movie and music experience.

Ganda ng set up mo. Kamusta atmos experience mo?Starting to do mine also with an Onkyo 646.

Anong atmos movie pang reference mo?

The ceiling speakers really makes a big difference. Noticeable difference.

When Atmos came out and started being available to consumers, I was not sold as I was already satisfied with my 5.1 configuration and don't think adding two height speakers will make a difference. I was so wrong. Those who watched movies sa media room ko really noticed the difference with the sound coming from the ceiling. They liked it.

I have an atmos demo, the helicopter demo to test the ceiling speakers. Batman vs Superman (their fight scene) for me is a good reference.

Go with the Atmos on your 646 you won't regret it. Sayang naman if you can get the most out of the receiver.

Thanks. Your recommendations on the Polk Audio really helped me a lot during my speaker selection process. In fact this is the first time I owned a Polk Audio speakers. Never really bothered testing them before.

I almost went with your recommendation for the RTi speakers but the whole package that I want consisting of RTi would cost me 80k plus. You're right of all the speakers i've tested, that came out on top.

congratz, sir.  I'm surprised the build up of the in-ceiling speakers are too quick.. very good!  where did you place the other pair of ceiling holes for your future 5.2.4 configuration?

also try to find some DTS:X materials.  I actually found them better than Dolby ATMOS.  Like Dolby Digital vs. DTS.  =))

Yeah. I really want to finish the upgrades before 2017.

No holes yet just wiring provisions. Current ceiling speakers are positioned medyo top middle/rear. The provision would then he for top front.

1 sub lang gamit ko. The other one is  galing sa wharfedale and di nakakabit.
