Most likely the Tagalized version is geared towards the generation of kids today who have no access to cable/internet TV service. IIRC, Voltes V was reintroduced (already re-dubbed in Tagalog) in the late 80's/early 90's which aired on several TV channels. It also had reruns on the Hero channel.

I had seen a few minutes, too. Something is "off" with the current dubbing. It felt like the voice actors were only made to read the dialogs without really understanding what they were trying to say. The dialogs lacked emotions. Also, they're broadcasting a poor copy. It's 2017 already, nearly 40 years since Voltes V was first shown locally, pero hindi man lang ginawan ng effort to restore the video quality. It looks awful on a 4k TV. Overall, a totally disappointing attempt to revive the beloved series.

I'll stick to my English-dubbed collection, too.

It cost P850 when it came out (but that was very very expensive already in '77 at that rate) & now presently the Immaculate Condition costs as much as 6 figures, still unreachable. Sa TV nalang ako ;D

Try OLX Master, I know mostly the collectors have missing & damage parts fabricated or do a recast, some even have the plastic parts w/ prints have it repainted. I'm sure dami dyan in Greenhills could do these tricks.

Yes! Arcade Games, PACMAN, PHOENIX & SPACE INVADERS that emptied our pockets & got wipe out then came ATARI as the 1st console to come out IIRC

Try lang Master to post sa OLX, I know alot are buying parts for the missing ones in their Voltes V. Kawawa naman si Voltes V ginawa mong surplus Master ;D

If they would take the template from Netflix's Voltron: Defenders of the Universe (along with design cues from the big-screen Mazinger Z Infinity - now that is how to honour one of the most classic giant-robot designs of all time), I may give it a pass....

He really is a Voltes V fanatic, he was featured in a local newspaper here when he was still the Police Director of Cebu 2 yrs ago. He has a collection displayed in his office. When there was a rally in front of his office in Camp Sergio Osmena here, he was prepared, setting up huge outdoor speakers behind the gates of the camp & played loudly the Voltes V theme back & back, kawawa yung mga rallyist their megaphones were no match for Voltes V's theme song as they just tried to destroy the gate because the voices of their cause could not be heard.

Not only he is fit to do Drako's voice but he is also a very Look-Alike w/ out the horns & scars ;D

"Voltes V: Legacy" has finally revealed the actors who will play Mark, Big Bert, and Little Jon!

According to Cata Tibayan's report on "24 Oras," Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, and Raphael Landicho will bring to life the three iconic characters in the live-action adaption of the Japanese anime series.

Radson, an alumnus of the network's reality talent competition "StarStruck," will play Mark Gordon, the pilot of the Volt Bomber, which transforms into the Voltes V's arm.

Meanwhile, Matt, the grand winner of Eat Bulaga's Spogify feat. Singing Baes segment, will play Big Bert. He pilots the Volt Panzer, which transforms into Voltes V's body.

Finally, child actor Raphael, who is currently playing the role of Andrei in "Love Of My Life," will play Little Jon. He pilots the Volt Frigate, which transforms into the legs of Voltes V.

This is going to be live action? Initially I thought these actors will just do the voice over and the remake will be based on utilizing more modern CGI's.

I'll stick to the original version even if its 40 years old.

Sa black & white TV (not different from the posted picture) ko pa pinapanood yang original broadcast every Friday noong grade school, then a few months after nakabili na ng colored TV ang parents ko. Simple joys...

I will give the new live action series a try once GMA starts its airing, but I doubt it will evoke the same nostalgia I feel whenever I watch an epusode from the VCD collection.

I was in grade 6 when the Voltes V tv series was shown here in the Philippines, it really gave me goosebumps and a bit teary eyed during the volt-in sequence ... it's not perfect, they had to squeeze-in a lot for the less than 2-hour movie, and yung Pinoy drama element, I find it a bit cheezy, but overall highly recommended and worth watching, kaya lang wala na yata sa movie theaters - wait nyo na lang baka sa Netflix ipalabas

Akala ko ako pinakamatanda na manonood, mas madami pa palang mas matanda ... mga original fan din siguro ng Voltes V .... may mga scene din pala outside of the volt-in sequence na pumapalakpak yung mga nanonood

Just to nitpick, sana ginastusan na rin nila yung mga side characters. Yung acting ng mga extra/minor characters is atrocious. 😅

Daily teleserye style kasi. I would have preferred the weekly format na mas focused sa action. Ok naman ang CGI at ang sets. Cringe nga lang talaga minsan ang dialogue at acting. :)

I saw somewhere na 16 beastfighters (not sure if true) daw ang kakalabanin, so may beastfighter of the week lang, then subplots galore na. But then again, yung first two weeks niya, isang beastfighter pa lang ang nakita natin.

But this may answer all lingering questions and thoughts that we may all have with the orig anime like why include Lil John etc etc. i heard this will premier on Netflix in November and a lot of International fans are anticipating to watch this very good live action faithful rendition of the orig anime.

Another this I like about this series is the usage of the music and score. Ang ganda!

Btw, RIP kay DokuGaga. The 1st beastfighter casualty under the hands of the mighty Voltes V. Ganda ng bugbugan nila. Pero wala talaga silang labas sa laser sword.

I still keep watching for the nostalgia of it all. I have to agree, sobrang cringe minsan ang script at acting. In fairness, I like the acting of Dr. Smith, Gen. Armstrong and Zuhl, though. Zardoz and his Boazanian henchmen are ok naman. Kay Carla Abellana, I think yung script ang issue. :)

And nakakasawa yung self-pity shtick ni Mark Gordon, parang nasobrahan.

And yung extras nila, parang nasa high school play lang, lol. Naubusan yata ng budget sa side characters.

Sana pag pinalabas sa streaming, may dubbed version and sana mag-invest na lang sila sa magagaling na voice actors tulad nung sa original series, and baka pwede re-edit nila para mabawasan ang teleserye moments. Pag nagsawa ako, baka dun ko na lang abangan ulit.

Pag i-post ko siguro ito sa FB kukuyugin ako at sasabihan na gumawa na lang ng sarili kong palabas, lol

Let see if this happens with every beastfighter. :)

Pinipicturean ni Steve si Jamie ng pasimple (or not, kasi naka-on yung volume so rinig mga capture) right in front of Big Bert who then lectures him that he's in a relationship. It also looks like upskirts because the wind was blowing her dress everywhere, lol.
