She-Hulk: All Scripts For Disney+ Series Are Now Completed
She-Hulk writer Dana Schwartz took to Twitter to reveal that they have already completed working on the scripts for Disney+’s highly-anticipated MCU series. Because of this, castings might possibly start soon with Marvel Studios reportedly looking for an “Alison Brie-type” actress to portray the role of Jennifer Walters. However, given the world’s current situation right now, production might not begin right away.
The She-Hulk series was officially announced by Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige last year along with two other MCU shows Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight. This marks the iconic superheroes’ live-action debut who are also expected to be featured in future MCU films.
She-Hulk debuted in Marvel Comics’ “Savage She-Hulk” #1 in 1980, created by writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema. Her alter ego is Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner/Hulk, who after being shot is provided a blood transfusion from Bruce that turns her into a similar green monster. She later became a member of the Avengers and briefly replaced Ben Grimm in The Fantastic Four.

Marvel’s ‘She-Hulk’ Series At Disney+ Lands Kat Coiro As Director And EP
Director Kat Coiro is now headed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She is in negotiations to direct the pilot and several other episodes of Marvel’s She-Hulk series for Disney+. Coiro will also serve as an executive producer on the series.
Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao has already been tapped to lead the writers room.
The last major character to be co-created by Stan Lee, She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gave Walters her powers, but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out.

‘She-Hulk’ Disney Plus Series Casts Tatiana Maslany in Lead Role
Tatiana Maslany is nearing a deal to play the lead role of the upcoming “She-Hulk” series at Disney Plus, Variety has learned from sources.
The series centers on lawyer Jennifer Walters (Maslany), cousin of Bruce Banner, who inherits his Hulk powers after she receives a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Bruce, however, when she hulks out Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control.
Reps for Maslany declined to comment. Reps for Disney did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment.
Maslany is perhaps best known for her starring role in the BBC America drama series “Orphan Black,” which ran for five seasons between 2013 and 2017. Maslany was nominated for three Emmys and a Golden Globe during the show’s run, winning the Emmy for best actress in a drama series in 2016. She also recently appeared in the HBO drama “Perry Mason.” On the film side, she has appeared in projects such as “Stronger,” “Destroyer,” and “Pink Wall.”

She-Hulk: Tatiana Maslany Denies Her Involvement in MCU Series
A month after news broke that Emmy-winning actress Tatiana Maslany had been tapped as the MCU’s She-Hulk, it seems her casting hasn’t been finalized yet, with the Orphan Black star finally speaking out about it. In a recent interview with The Sudbury Star, when asked about the big She-Hulk news Maslany surprisingly denied her involvement with the Disney+ project by revealing that the previous reports are just rumors that got out of hand.
“That actually isn’t a real thing and it’s like a press release that’s gotten out of hand,” Maslany said. “It’s totally not — I’ve been connected to these things in the past and press has gotten onto it, but it’s not actually a thing, unfortunately.”
She added, “Yeah, I don’t know how these things get — I don’t know, I don’t know. You know better; I have no idea. (Laughs.)”
Should this indeed be true, it would put Marvel Studios and the actress they’ve actually tapped for the role in an awkward situation, especially when fans have already grown accustomed to the idea of Maslany becoming the titular Jade Giantess. However, its understandable if the award-winning actress has already been sworn into secrecy by the studio as other actors in past such as Paul Rudd and Kumail Nanjiani had previously denied signing on for MCU movies before eventually being confirmed by Marvel Studios. It’s also possible the terms of Maslany’s contract have not been ironed out, and the actress is simply hesitant to speak out in public before all the i’s are dotted a T’s crossed.

Tim Roth Returning as Abomination in She-Hulk
Though the Oscar and Golden Globe nominee previously expressed doubt he’d be able to reprise the role ever again under the Marvel Studios banner, Kevin Feige has confirmed that Tim Roth is set to return as Abomination from the Edward Norton-led The Incredible Hulk in the Tatiana Maslany-led Disney+ series She-Hulk.

‘She-Hulk’: Ginger Gonzaga Joins Disney+ Marvel Series
Ginger Gonzaga (Kidding) is set to co-star opposite Tatiana Maslany in the upcoming She Hulk Marvel series for Disney+.
She-Hulk is a legal comedy that centers on the eponymous heroine (Maslany), aka Jennifer Walters, an attorney who has similar powers to her cousin, Bruce Banner/The Hulk.
Gonzaga plays Walters’ best friend. As announced at Disney Investor Day, Avengers star Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as The Hulk and Tim Roth is reprising his Hulk character of The Abomination on She-Hulk.
The series is directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao serving as head writer.
Marvel declined comment.

Unlike Bruce, however, when she hulks out Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control. Marvel Studios’ upcoming She-Hulk series has finally begun filming in Atlanta and is expected to shoot until August 30. The filming start for the Tatiana Maslany-led MCU series was previously delayed last year due to the ongoing pandemic.

Arrow alum Josh Segarra has joined the cast of Marvel’s She-Hulk series starring Tatiana Maslany in the title role. He joins a cast that includes Renée Elise Goldsberry, Ginger Gonzaga and Mark Ruffalo, who will be reprising his role as Bruce Banner aka the Hulk.
Marvel had no comment on the casting.

Disney announced that the She-Hulk: Attorney At Law release date will come slightly later than originally advertised. No longer set for an August 17 premiere, the series has been pushed from Wednesday to Thursday releases. This is a departure from recent Marvel Cinematic Disney+ offerings as they have traditionally released on Wednesdays. The first episode of She-Hulk will release on August 18 now.

For an introductory episode, I liked the pacing. But unlike the recent Marvel TV shows, this will have nine episodes. Not sure how they can sustain the viewers’ interest for that long if the overall plot seems a bit simple.

This is true. The CGI is really crappy compared to the others. I was about to point this out before. However, because it is so fun to watch, the whole series could get away with this :-).

DD just had a personality change. I prefer a darker, brooding version. But I'll take what I can get. I'm just glad they got Charlie Cox back.

I was actually ok with th CGI in this series....until THAT scene on episode 9. That was incredibly bad!

I also stop watching this series after episode 3. No offense to the Marvel fans, there is a story alright, but the effects are like super noticeable studio-type like backgrounds & the CGI is one of the worst in the Marvel MCU. Too much Marvel sideshows already & lot of characters keeps adding up & its getting confusing already. More like a burnout stage for me already.

As mentioned previously, aside from the multiple cameos (which are actually fun), the entire series feels very much like filler material. I do know it was meant to emulate a TV sitcom, but personally I did not find it funny enough overall. As for the season finale, the meta aspect made it one of the better episodes for me, but I can't help but feel like the whole series was drawn out just so they could end it with a "clever-wink-to-the-audience" gimmick.
