Curiois on the ff:
What's the output resolution? Is gma's signal HD?
It says on the box that it has an indoor antenna, how effective could that be?

Timing is very convenient for this box. Baka hindi na rin magamit ang TV Plus in the near future eh.

not sure if you have tried just connecting an antenna to your TV... the two TV's that I have (both LG's) are compatible with our DBV-T digital signal ... if your TV already support such, and your purpose is only to get free to air channels, there's not much advantage getting a tv box ... I actually purchased a TV Plus and another tv box (Easy TV i think) and gave both to my brothers when I tested that direct connection of antenna to the tv works - less complexity as you only need one remote control, and it's actually clearer

^bro are you getting a 16:9 feed for GMA channels on your TV? I seem to be getting just 4:3 aspect only.

ordered mine for our old LCD TV, hindi pa din dumadating. pero from what I saw in the ads, RCA connection lang ito just like first version ng TVPlus.

afaik, ISDB-T ang Phils. and I think most new TVs nowadays have ISDB-T tuner na.
this is true. most don't even advertise it na sa specs nila. just check the TV settings, if it shows digital, it can receive the signal. just get a decent digital antenna.

finally got one and here's my take on it:
cheap set top box that gets the job done.
GMA channel is clear, probably 480P, but talo pa rin ng HD before ni ABS CBN sa Cignal. Mas malinaw pa 'yung nakukuhang signal ng CNN HD.
I can use the antenna of my Cignal satellite dish, but hindi nya nakukuha 'yung ibang channels (ie. walang CNN HD).
Included antenna is long enough (around 3 meters). Added bonus - magnetic base 'yung antenna if you want to mount it to a metal.
Switching channels would have a second delay on the video (audio is instant). Probably because of the chips used.
Walang kasamang HDMI cable.
Remote control is OK, small but easy to use.
Set up was a breeze, and signal searching takes less than a minute.
With front USB slot for easy access when you want to plug in a drive for movie viewing.
Also able to control my TV to turn on and off when I turn the affordabox's power.
Switching power supply (110v-220v).
My main complaint is how grounded the whole thing is. Buong back panel nakaka kuryente.
Bottom line - sulit naman bumili ng affordabox. Got it for P888 from Shopee with free shipping.

kung my tv plus ka na no need to buy this.. wala pa naman exclusive channels ang GMA eh. except kung gusto mo my extra media player ka. kasi pwede mp to eh
ang tanong sa mga meron na. ano anong mga file ang kaya sa media playing nya? baka mp4 o avi lang.

Ahh...oks..Thanks thought I might have been missing something na sa new box na to...Curious lang how many digital broadcast na kaya nyan TV Plus and affordabox ang kayang i view? Here samin sa Bats. City now 3 channel na lang all from GMA. How about the other channels TV5,13 and all other FTA channels are they now in Digital broadcast?

You don't need any box. All you need is an antenna.

for me, I have an old LCD TV (2009 Panasonic) kaya duon ko nilagay affordabox kasi mostly GMA lang pinapanuod ng byenan ko hehe.

basta may RCA yung TV mo, compatible sa TVPlus. yung affordabox, may HDMI na din.

Hi... my dad's TVPlus has difficulty receiving channels, particularly GMA. Probably because of location (Sta Rosa, Laguna).
Would you know if this antenna is better than the stock antenna that comes with the TVPlus? Thinking of buying one and connecting it to the TVPlus. Thanks.

^naku can't say for sure. baka same lang or even weaker pa nga. baka mas maganda mag aerial digital antenna na lang given na hirap nga sumagap sa area.

I live in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and using TV Plus but with Baron Antenna ... before hindi stable signal ng GMA channels pag stock antenna lng gamit ko. Not sure if their signal has improved but happy with the reception I got with my current set-up.

By Baron antenna, you mean the one for analog TV? I believe my Dad has one of those. I'll try connecting it to the TV Plus.

Yup, the same aerial antenna na gamit ko nuon sa Analog TV, konting pihit lng ayos!

Also kaya ba nyang basahin lahat ng movie media files? 5.1 audio?

itinago ko na muna ang aming tv plus box.....gamit namain ngayon ay MY Box, connected sa high speed internet....youtube and source namin, can access local and international channels...
if you own smart tv's, then you can just connect to the internet...

I looked-for and tried my old defunct EasyTV. I rescanned the channels and got exactly the same 34 channels i have on my new Affordabox.
So if you have an unused EasyTV pwede pa pakinabangan.

mga master my nakuha akong trick sa TVplus.. pero di ko pa natry.. pero dami nag comment totoo daw eh. paste ko lang dito ang post.. wala naman mawawala kung try.. try ko maya sa bahay pag uwi ko..

Step 2: Kuhanin ang Remote and Click Scan, Wait hanggang maging 100% at lumitaw ang ok
Step3: Click mo ang Ok, then pagkatapos ma Click, power off TV Plus at ang TV,, ohh kaya pwede ding hugutin nalang then maghintay ng 10sec. after 10 sec. open mo na tv plus at tv
Booomm, madame ka ng Channel my Cartoon Network, Disney Land,,, etc.
Legit to mga master., nakita ko lng dn kz i2 sa FB,, kaya like ko lng ishare d2 sa forum

sa tulad naming maraming free time sir wala naman problema. pero sa mga kagaya nyo na busy at walang pwede masayang na oras hindi talaga to pwede.

Sa TV Plus, madaming channels na wala namang palabas pero na scan sya at dadaanan mo lagi. So waste of time channel surfing.

wala nga yun bro. tama nga sabi nila sa taas. mukhang pakana lang ng GMA ang post na yan sa FB. para sila na ang bumida sa tvplus. .

parang may nabasa akong up to 500 gb lang kaya nito. not sure though.

480i lang pala ito at kahit outdoor antenna yung ibang digital channel na gagarbled sila pero sa coccaa TV OK naman yung mga channels na yun.

magkakaroon daw ng additional channels ito? Malamang exclusive GMA channels ala Jeepney TV ng ABS. I'm hoding off on this one. Kung sa ngayon pareho lang ng channels with TV Plus, no reason to buy it yet.

yes. 3 channels sir..
yung parang yey nila. mas maganda dito. lahat ng anime na nabili nilang rights. magaganda anime sa GMA
tapos yung parang movie central nila lahat naman ng na tagalize..
yung isa wala pang balita kung ano..sana bukod na channel nalang para sa lahat ng docu collections nila.

yung device ata ok lang ibenta anytime.. ang frequency lang ata ang kailangan ng prangkisa bro..

^ yung ABS CBN TV Box kse parang kakasuhan ng NTC dahil wala daw license to sell. "Testing" lang daw dapat for 6mos kaso nagbenta na sila. So pinagmumulta for violating the test period. So dapat itong GMA meron "license" from NTC na dapat.
Pero kung hindi sampahan ng kaso ng NTC ibig sabihin wala namang problema.

ahhh .naku another case na naman ng ABS pala yan.. naalala ko dati nung unang benta ng tvplus nakakuha ako ng pinakaunang batch worth 750php. until now yan ang gamit ko. tvplus pa ang logo wala pang abs cbn.
