Hayden Christensen Returning to ‘Star Wars’ With ‘Ahsoka’ Series
Hayden Christensen is staying in the fold of the Galactic Empire.
The actor will reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader, in Ahsoka, the latest Star Wars live-action series from Lucasfilm and Disney+, multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.
Rosario Dawson is starring as the fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi Knight survivor popular on the animation side of Star Wars who made her live-action debut in the second season of The Mandalorian.
Plot details are being kept in the far reaches of the Outer Rim, but it is known that longtime Star Wars lightsaber wielder Dave Filoni is writing the series and exec producing with Jon Favreau.
It is unclear how Skywalker, or for that matter, Vader, will figure into Ahsoka, which, like Mandalorian, is set five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and therefore after Vader’s death.
Production is due to begin in early 2022.

Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society) has been cast as a lead opposite Rosario Dawson in the Disney+ limited series Star Wars: Ahsoka, a spinoff from the streamer’s hit series The Mandalorian. I hear Bordizzo will be taking on the character of Sabine Wren from the Star Wars Rebels animated series.

‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’: Ivanna Sakhno Joins Disney+ Series
Ivanna Sakhno (Pacific Rim: Uprising) has been cast opposite Rosario Dawson and Natasha Liu Bordizzo in the Disney+ limited series Star Wars: Ahsoka, a spinoff from the streamer’s hit series The Mandalorian.
In the limited series, Dawson stars as Ahsoka Tano after making the Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels character’s live-action debut in The Mandalorian, while Bordizzo is taking on the character of Sabine Wren from the Star Wars Rebels animated series. Sakhno will play a newly created character. Reps for Lucasfilm and Sakhno had no comment.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead has signed on for a role in the upcoming Ahsoka Tano live-action series at Disney Plus, Variety has confirmed.
Rosario Dawson is set to star in the title role in “Ahsoka,” whom she first played in Season 2 of “The Mandalorian.” It was previously reported that Natasha Liu Bordizzo would star as Sabine Wren and that Ivanna Sakhno would play what is believed to be a new “Star Wars” character in the series. Details on Winstead’s character are currently being kept under wraps.

Ray Stevenson has been cast in the upcoming Disney Plus “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka”.
Details on who Stevenson will be playing in the series are being kept under wraps, but it is believed that he will be playing a villain in the series, thought not the main villain, Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Eman Esfandi Joins ‘Ahsoka’ as Fan Favorite Ezra Bridger
Ezra Bridger is officially headed to live-action, with Eman Esfandi playing the Star Wars animated character in Ahsoka, the Disney+ series toplined by Rosario Dawson.
Ezra Bridger debuted in 2014 in the animated Star Wars Rebels, where he was voiced by actor Taylor Gray. The character grew from an orphan with a knack for the Force into a Rebel who trained in the ways of the Jedi.
The Disney+ series stars Dawson as titular Jedi Ahsoka Tano, who first jumped to live action in season two of The Mandalorian and also appeared in The Book of Boba Fett. Other stars include Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ukrainian actress Ivanna Sakhno and Australian thespian Natasha Liu Bordizzo. Hayden Christensen reprises his role as Anakin Skywalker and Ray Stevenson plays a mystery villain.
Plot details are not known, but the setup includes Tano journeying from one end of the galaxy to the other in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a former commander in the Empire. Star Wars Rebels ended with both Thrawn and Ezra disappearing into space.
Eman Esfandi’s credits include the Robert Rodriguez horror film Red 11, which screened at Cannes in 2019, as well as a small role in best picture nominee King Richard. He also appears in the upcoming gay military drama The Inspection, which is getting strong early reviews out of the Toronto Film Festival this week.

David Tennant & Lars Mikkelsen Join ‘Ahsoka’ Live-Action Series
David Tennant and Lars Mikkelsen have joined Lucasfilm’s upcoming Ahsoka series.
The news was confirmed this morning on stage at Star Wars Celebration in London, where series creators Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau appeared alongside series lead Rosario Dawson.
Tennant, best known for his turn as Doctor Who, will play the droid character Huyang in the series. He previously voiced the character in Filoni’s animated version of the series and won a Daytime Emmy for his work on the show.
Later during the panel, Filoni and Favreau shared new footage of the show that also revealed Lars Mikkelsen is returning to the Star Wars universe to play Admiral Thrawn in Ahsoka. Mikkelsen voiced Thrawn in the animated series.
The line-up of directors set to work on the series was also unveiled this morning in London. Filoni will shoot episodes alongside Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

Ahsoka Cast Adds Temuera Morrison to Play Live-Action Clone Wars Character
According to One Take News, Star Wars vet Temuera Morrison is reportedly joining the Ahsoka cast of Lucasfilm’s newest Disney+ series starring Rosario Dawson as the titular fan-favorite former Jedi.
Should his addition to the Ahsoka cast be made official, Morrison would finally be playing the live-action version of Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Captain Rex, who was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. He is one of the few clones that were able to resist the infamous Order 66 after Ahsoka removed his inhibitor chip. Besides The Clone Wars, Captain Rex also appeared in other animated shows, including Rebels and The Bad Batch.

Suspension of disbelief dapat, pero pwede naman pala itanong sa Space Whales kung saan napunta si Ezra (and Thrawn), so why need the map in the first place? I haven't seen Rebels, so not sure if there are answers there. :D

I was hoping they can introduce the yuuzhan vong to this new Disney Star Wars era. Pero mukhang malabo na. I used to read the Expanded Universe and mas fresh pa ideas dun. Right now it always feel like Jedi vs. Sith, Rebels vs. Empire.

Read those too, back in the 90s. I was surprised to see many elements making it to canon (Jacen but no Jaina, Thrawn, Jedi temples + artifacts, other stuff) and being filmed 30 years later. Goes to show what Timothy Zahn and others wrote were actually good.
