Hi guys, been out of the loop for some time and unfamiliar with the trend. My shield tv finally gave up the ghost and I'm looking for a new media player to replace it. I plan to watch 4k movies in Atmos with it using external hdd.
I would appreciate recommendations. thank you

If you'll be using it only for streaming content in 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos then 4th Gen Google Chromecast should do the trick. Otherwise get another Nvidia Shield.

Zidoo Z9X (or higher models) pag isipan mo din.

Thank you. will consider this.

Zidoo doesn't explicitly say in their product page that they have DRM support for Netflix or any other streaming content. Something to take note of. Since you're already using an Nvidia Shield anything else would be a downgrade.

Shield is still the go to player for me in terms of convenience.

i had the old shield die on me and even then it was giving me problems when using an external hd. Is it more stable with the newer shield pro?

Alas, the old shield died :'( . Also, with the new firmware it was almost impossible to play movies off an external hdd. Are the newer Shield better at handling storage?

So far so good, just using NOVA PLAYER for playing movies files in an external HDD, but usually I'm using it to stream.
