Does anyone remembers what are the episodes shown in the Voltes V:The Movie?

Boss JT,
I think it's episodes 1 and 2... The one where they battle the giant Robot Butterfly.

I can still remember kasi watching it here in a local cinema (bata pa ako nun) na yung movie ay tungkol lang sa beginning ng Voltes V at kalaban nila yung higanteng paru-paro. I don't remember seeing the latter episodes. Kaya nga nung ipinalabas uli ng GMA7 a few years back, pinanood ko to see how it ended kasi during Marcos' time, di natapos at di ko napanood yung ending.
-
Actually meron akong cinema copy nun (nabili ko sa greenhills dati) pero may nanghiram at di na binalik.
-
VOLTES V
STAR RANGERS (si Star 5 ang favorite ko-- yung may Heart Sign!)
-
Voltes V

Does anyone remembers what are the episodes shown in the Voltes V:The Movie?
I think there's more than one movie. Most recently, they showed one here in the mid 90s and that had the last 5 (or maybe 4) episodes.

lumipad pa nga yung camp big falcon (astig!) :o
-
Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I know some 'spell chants' from the Visionaries cartoon series, I'm not sure if you remember them (I like the one dubbed in Tagalog when it was shown on Ch.2):
"Humanay ang tatlong araw, sumabog ang liwanag,
at pinuno ng lakas ang pana!" ;D (The character Krayotek chanting his Strength spell)
"Ang sinumang gumapang, bayaang gumapang,
ang sinumang hindi, bayaang maagnas at mabulok!!!" ;D ;D ;D (The villanous leader Darkstorm chanting his Decay spell)
My favorite cartoons of the 80s were: Starblazers and Macross (Robotech) - Oh how I wish this series would be shown again on TV (actually, Channel 2 ran the first Robotech series a few years ago, based on the SDF-1 landing on Earth , but to my disappointment, they blatantly edited some scenes in every episode, and they never got to telecast the final episodes of that series)

Pinalabas din yung english version nito which is better.
"Three suns aligned, pour forth their light,
And fill the archer's bow with might."
"Ang sinumang gumapang, bayaang gumapang,
ang sinumang hindi, bayaang maagnas at mabulok!!!" ;D ;D ;D (The villanous leader Darkstorm chanting his Decay spell)
"By what creeps, what crawls, by what does not,
Let all that stands before me, recede and rot".
Favorite ko rin ito dati, along with Silver Hawks.

Superfriends
Thundercats
He-Man
::)

Superfriends! so much so that I now get goosebumps when i see the new justice league unlimited ads. I have their action figures that came with every jollibee meal.
He-man--It's funny that everyone on that planet is super-buff and that Adam just gets a tan when he turns into He-man. Well-drawn animation. Was so fascinated with Sorceress...Also like the moral lesson at the end.
GI Joe--I just realized how American junk had completely molded me. Syempre may lesson din sa end--"now i know; and knowing is half the battle---yoooo joe!"
Garfield and friends --I think i know the theme song by heart "Friends are there, to help you get started, to give you a push on your way..."
Centurions --"power extreme". I played Ace, the guy who flies.
Mighty man and Yuck
Plastic man
Astro boy

If live action counts, does anyone remember the Card Rangers, the Japanese show where a plane and a car combine to form a robot, Gigantor (what channel?), Wacky Races and others, and Wait Til Your Father Gets Home? How about the Sigmund and the Sea Monster series?

dre, you're age is showing yata dahil most of the cartoons you mentioned were in the 70s. panahon ko pa yan, hehehe.
gigantor used to air in the old channel 5 before martial law, i just dont know kung ini air nila ulit after the martial law just like voltes v ulit because i have been hoping to see it again ever since. i remember an episode where he was up against an army of gigantors but the memory is hazy na. wait till your father get's home used to air on rpn 9 and i remember it being sort of a filler ba dahil yun ang isasak ng 9 kapag nag speech si marcos sa tv and all the channels air it, tapos pag tapos na speech e di na pwedeng
isaksak yung scheduled na show so they will put on this cartoon. do i remember it right? i still can remember the melody of that show's theme in my head right now...
wacky races-- who can forget muttley's sneer whenever dick dastardly's plans go to hell. penelope pittstop and this seven mobsters that i really cannot spell the name, entail mob? sigmund was a live action show much in the vein of the bugaloos and another one called the banana splits? i think it was a sid and marty kroft production something - yung sigmund and bugaloos - the banana splits was by hanna barbera cartoons. eto pa isa, who can remember the super president?
-
I can't remember Super President, but I remember Mightor.
Guess what I found when I was looking for Welcome Back, Kotter episodes? Maybe they'll show some toons here:

magkakatropa yung series na yun and i'm actually getting out of topic with this because this is 70s fare, but i remember that mightor series which was also coupled with moby dick, then there was the herculoids which is getting
airtime at the cartoon network along with birdman, super president and atom ant. they might look cheesy now but back then, nothing was more cooler than those shows...

Maybe you mean JAK-Q, the sentai (aka "Power Ranger") series where five heroes (it's usually 5 in sentai) dressed in themed fighting suits (in JAK-Q's case, playing cards) battle cybernetically enhanced criminals (oh...how ironic!!!).

Ah....Wait till your Father gets....Wait till your Father gets....Wait till your Father gets home.....
Before the Simpsons, the Boyles were the animated family.
Dick Dastardly: "HEEEELLLLP!!!! Muttley!!! Get me DOWN from here!!!!"
Muttley: "Teeheee-heee-heeehehee"
Who can't also forget Penelope Pitstop...the Ant Hill Mob and Chuggaboom (their car)...Peter Perfect and his Turborrific....Prof. Pat Pending and his ConvertiCar (the original Transformer)
Yes...the other live-action series...Sigmund and the Sea Monsters f. Sigmund and his brothers Burp & Slurp (?), The Bugaloos who always foiled the evil plots of Bertha Bizarre, Land of the Lost (the original "Lost" series), WonderWheels, ElectraWoman & DynaGirl, The Banana Splits (remember the "Danger Island" segments helmed by future Superman and Lethal Weapon director Richard Donner)
Damn, I'm REALLY showing my age here....

One of the cheesiest (but funny na rin): Mighty Man and Yukk (the world's ugliest dog)
Challenge of the Superfriends (vs. the Legion of Doom)
Kinda irritating: Shmoo
Blatantly commerical/corporate spin-off: Shirt Tales (I remember this spoofed by a La Salle spoof tabloid as the Dirt Tales [stuffed with dirt] and the Sh*t Tales [guessed what they're stuffed with])

-
Really? I'll check Amazon UK.
Nagdedeliver kaya Amazon UK sa Philippines?
I think it's expensive.
-
Hi. As someone who regularly orders from Amazon UK, I'll just submit a little input.
1. They do ship to the Philippines; using the cheapest delivery, my orders usually arrive at the post office within one week. Cheapest would be about £3.50 for one disc, £5 for two discs and £6 for three discs.
2. They're a little more expensive than Amazon US, however, their titles go on sale very fast (sometimes within 2 months), and really drop down to rock bottom prices. I've bought DVDs at 60-70% off SRP, and some as low as £2-3.
3. The listed prices on the site actually go down when you see them in your check out after you've selected a non-UK address for shipping, since they remove the VAT.
All that said and done, for the title in question:
Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light (The Complete Series on 2 Discs)
SRP: £12.99
Amazon-UK Price: £6.97 (46% off)
Price when shipping to the Philippines: £5.93 + £3.58 (shipping) = £9.51
So that'll be about Php 951 for a rare double disc. Not a bad deal! :)
-
Well, that's good news. I was thinking of shipping the DVD to my cousin who's coming home later on this year.
Thanks!

Wow, a very good deal nga. Thanks for the info Mr. Hankey.
BTW, have you had any problems with Amazon UK, like wrong charges on the credit card, missing shipment, etc. Just want to make sure before I place an order. Thanks!
-
I've had no credit card problems as a result of my online transactions.
As for missing parcels, an actual missing shipment has only happened once, and they replaced it free of charge. Another time, my package got burned during the Cubao post office fire, and they also replaced it free of charge.
They've also replaced several other orders of mine, since I usually send a complaint once my order hasn't arrived two weeks after the estimated delivery date (which is a very generous margin, since like I said, normally the package arrives within a week, even before estimated delivery date). In those cases, the replacement usually arrived weeks before the original shipment, and I ended up with duplicate items as a result. I'm not sure what caused the delays in the original for those cases.

Whad'ya know...it's the 70's version of The Simpsons.
I'd bet if Warner Bros. Animation (which holds the rights to the Hanna-Barbera library) would remake this, the fat girl on the right would have a sever case of bulimia.
Speaking of remakes - I hear that the big-screen adaptation of Yogi Bear (with the "smarter than the average" bear rendered in CGI a la Scooby Doo) would be done in 3-D!!! Hold on to your pic-a-nic baskets!!!!

My all-time favorite cartoon show is HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE by Filmation. THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS comes next. Sometimes I do watch SHE-RA PRINCESS OF POWER back then for obvious reason. I liked it when He-man crossover to Etheria and vice versa to Eternia. For some reason, I don't quite like THUNDERCATS. The rest are from the '70's. Does anyone even remember SHIRT TALES (http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w81/thegoodbyeguy/PINOYDVD%20POSTS/shirtttales.jpg)?

superfriends - with hal jordan as green lantern
blackstar

Yeah, Superfriends...who couldn't forget Wendy, Marvin & Wonderdog!!!
(btw, Wendy & Marvin are employed at Titans Tower in the current Teen Titans continuity)
Did you know that Blackstar was originally intended to be an African-American?

I also saw numerous different dvd packaging of anime and non-animes in Singapore that can be easily mistaken as jack sparrow editions. They're not. Although it looks like one. Singapore are very keen when it comes to selling original brands (DVDs, etc.) especialy in legitimate stores and malls.
SHE-RA is a girlie 'toon but I do watch them back then kakashi. I also watch Smurfs, Shirt Tales and Care Bears that gear towards the younger set and not particularly for girls only.
-
i was able to download the complete takara transformers saga (head masters, victory, and another one, i forgot the title) hehe...

Pero cool pa rin mapanood uli halvert, hehe. Very crude animation but still it works during our younger years. :)
Superbook and The Flying House were really great cartoons back then. ;)

this just hit me, anyone here watched the jap drama anime that abs used to air?
cedie
princess sarah
dog of flanders

these were aired mid 90's ata, i think it was summer after grade 5, then when everyone went back to school during grade 6, no one really had it in them to start discussing how they watched the shows during the summer break, but when someone broke the ice, everyone eventually started discussing the cartoons - hahaha ;D
shows us how young boys didnt like admitting watching "girlie" toons until the majority talks about them hehehe
-
street forgs and tiger sharks

THE ULTRA-BEST cartoons of them all is MARVEL SUPERHEROES, shown between the years 1981 to 1983 on Channel 9. This program whose episodes are alternated by Marvel's main superheroes was made in 1968 or '69, and consists, partly, of animation cells & panels which were directly culled from the original comic books of the 1960s. Thus the stories are like motion-filled comic books whose original artists are folks like Jack Kirby, John Romita, and plotted by Stan Lee himself. I get orgasmic joys from seeing it on TV after school because at that time, imported comics are quite rare and if available would costs around P4.00 - a fortune for a 12-year old kid growing up 28 years ago. "When Captain America lost his mighty shield..." as the song goes.....

Yeah..."girlie" toons aka shoujo anime.
Btw...if you used to follow Heidi (which ABS & QTV once carried) you might be interested to know that Hayao Miyazaki was once involved with that said series.

G-Force! :D
G-Force (not to be confused with the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer/Disney-produced CGI feature) pka Battle of the Planets aka Gatchaman: Hero TV recently re-aired the original Japanese 1973-4 series (from which BotP was based on). Now you know what you may have missed when you once followed BotP regularly back then (though the absence of 7-Zark-7 and 1-Rover-1 are most welcome!!!). The original Gatchaman series also featured the artistic contributions of Yocrapaka Amano, best known for his work with the Final Fantasy games.
Though there is a CGI-animated film being developed by the makers of the TMNT & the upcoming Astroboy films, I'd like to see a live-action version (to be directed, sana naman, by a Japanese - DGA card-holders are all clueless when it comes to handling Jap anime titles with any reverence) with the ff. Hollywood actors in the cast:
Anne Hathaway as Jun (BotP: Princess)
Jack Black as Ryu (BotP: Tiny)
Moises Arias (Rico from Hannah Montana) as Jimpei (BotP: Keyop)

Anyone remember the saturday morning catoons at F.E.N with gummibears as one of my favorite cartoons at that time
