Title: The Office (BBC/NBC versions)
Post by: JdelaCruz on Aug 25, 2004 at 06:40 PM
The ads are out, coming soon on StarWorld!

BBCs acclaimed comedy series that kicked the collective @sses of "Sex and the City" and "Monk" and "Arrested Development" and "Will and Grace" by winning the Golden Globe Best Comedy and Best Actor in a Comedy awards early this year, "The Office" (http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/) is finally here.

Only 12 episodes long in its entirety, plus two Christmas episodes, this series may be short but stands unequaled in terms of its impact on TV Comedy.  Soon on StarWorld!!! Will post details as they come!

Arrright Wernham Hogg!!!

Story and format wise, The Office can kick Curb Your Enthusiasm's behind. Although, Curb is also another hilarious show (wonder why it's never aired here?). Dawn and Tim - story of my life...well, at least 1/4 of it. ;D

Nah, disagree with you there. Larry David's humor is so much more my type than Ricky Gervais'. Besides, I see Ricky and get too depressed, since...

...I can relate too much...

I thought season 2 was funnier than season 1. Season 1 is still great but it was all over the place at times and the team hadn't really gelled.

More than the humor, I really heart The Office more for the really poignant love story at its core.

Just wait till the Christmas Specials.  ;) I hope StarWorld airs them too.

Sked's out:  Saturdays at 10:30 pm, replays Sundays 3:00 am. Starting September 4th.

Dang, kasabay ng SATC. Guess I'll have to catch that one on Tuesdays.

Intense intense love for this show. Waxed rhapsodic about it long ago somewhere else in this forum, and am really glad its to be on Star World this weekend.

Just one worry though. If I recollect correctly, each episode is actually around 35 minutes long. Since Star World is showing it in a thirty minute block (10:30-11:00, I think), it seems that there will be major cuts in the episodes. There are a lot of "atmosphere" shots (shots of mundane office behavior that do not advance plot points), so I guess those would go, but still a shame if there are cuts.

Oh crap.

You GOT the "mah na mah na" reference?

That means Star World is NOT showing The Office in the correct order. That's the pilot episode of Season Two.  >:(

LOL... ya got me there. i liked it so much that i immediately scoured the 'net and bumped into a discussion board and a few blogs about season 2's premiere episode. (how do you think i dug up such a "forgotten" pic like the one i posted above... he he he.  ::))

i always did wonder why you put that reference in your previous post... akala ko noon dahil favorite song mo lang 'yun but NOW, i finally get it... (because i read about it and not because i saw the "mahna mahna" perf last saturday. *sigh!*... i probably should've been more explicit when i said that. sorry po!  :P)

ayun tuloy... may spoiler na for season 2! ... not that a show like this can have spoilers. LOL.  :-X

The "manah manah" was being shown as a trailer these past few days, that's why I think it was brought up here.  There was no manah manah last Saturday.  Besides the Sesame Street reference, is there something else we should "get" from manah manah?  I always thought the fact that it came from Sesame Street was nothing special, just a given -- just like the way the wazzuup came from the Bud commercial.  Shows how ancient I am.   ;D

part of the discussion was focused on how the term "muppet/moppet" was used after the mahna mahna performance... people were debating if it was referring to the actual muppets (kermit, miss piggy, etc. etc.) or if it was being used as a slang term (sa british kasi "moppet"=idiot) to tim & the rest of the guys.

quite an inane discussion really...  ::)

...  i haven't been lucky enough to see that promo.  >:( ... but because they already put it in the promo, i guess this means they'll be airing season 1 and 2 beck to back... yay!  ;)

Yep that's Martin Freeman.  He also played Ali G's beat box in "Ali G Indahouse".  He's also Arthur Dent in the upcoming Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie.

I think airing Season 1 and 2 back to back won't be a problem since they're just 6 eps each.  What we should be praying for are the Christmas Specials.  These are important episodes because everything gets tied up brilliantly.

oh yeah...  you're right... siya nga 'yun. i just recently caught ali g on HBO... and i didn't recognize him right away. i guess that speaks volumes on just how much of an impression that movie made on me... he he he.

oh, i don't think it'll be a problem even if the entire show was 24 shows long.... i was kinda concerned kasi that star world might not have bought the entire package... minsan kasi for budgetary reasons, these cable shows can't afford to buy all the seasons.

naku! i hope that doesn't happen with the specials... dalawa lang naman pala.  ::)

Satruday's ep started with Brent firing an employee (serious stuff), and somewhere along the way, the differences between midgets, dwarfs and elves were discussed. ;D ;D ;D  Goblins and piixies almost made it to the list but not quite.

That's got to be the funniest opening so far.

So it's on to the Second Series with the first episode tonight: Brent at his cringe-inducing best plus a lot of Tim-and-Dawn action including, of course, winding up Gareth:

Tim: "So Gareth, did you see that movie last night, 'Gaylord Say No?'"
Gareth: "No."
Dawn laughs.

Ricky Gervais was supposed to be on Letterman tonight.  Wow! Two of my best regarded TV personalities sitting three feet apart and actually exchanging words.  Just the idea of it fritzes my mind.

Anyway, Brent was supposed to be promoting the Christmas Specials' regular airing (will there be one?) or the DVD release on Nov. 16, or both.  Any of your Stateside peeps who were not watching Game 6 of the Yankees-Red Sox finals get to see it?  How'd it go?

Cringe-wise, last Sat's episode was the absolute *worst* so far. I'm as big a fan as any but I just couldn't look. I literally had to look away and shake my head in embarrassment.

And Excalibur was read by Brent...to a squirming Dawn.

Courtesy of Tigger at PEx:

Excalibur
By David Brent

I froze your tears and made a dagger
And stabbed it in my c*ck forever
It stays there like Excalibur
Are you my Arthur?
Say you are

Take this cool, dark, steel-ed blade
Steal it
Sheath it in your lake
I'd drown with you to be together
Must you breathe?
Cos I need heaven

Anybody seen the Christmas specials yet- - -not on Starworld, obviously?  Saw the last episode of the second season (on DVD) the other night (marathoned all six episodes, in fact) and left me craving more.

The Brits do make their stuff several degrees more sophisticated than the Yanks (shows in even their commercials). That whole breaking-the-fourth-wall/reality TV conceit would have been given exposition or explanation if this was an American sitcom, but here it's taken for granted, assumes the audience is smart enough to hurdle them - - -and it neatly contributes to the poignancy of that final "encounter" between Tim and Dawn in the boardroom. (Won't go further into it to avoid spoilers for those who haven't seen it). Is the American remake oif this underway?

Depressing , in a way, but more for the subtext of Tim's story, that being in an office 9 to 5 does stifle one's dreams. Tell me about it.  Asswipe bosses are nothing compared to that. Besides Gervais' Brent isn't exactly loathsome loathsome, he's a charming lout with a human being inside the braggadocio.

And in fairness, his motivational speech did get off on an unconventional, and terrific, start. Was that the episode that was shown recently?

Loved the "musical" episode best. Foregone Conclusion, now there's a name for a band! ;D

You know what, seeing the poem written out like that, "Excalibur" actually seems a lot better than most of the "poetry" a lot of current "poets" are spewing.

Gervais' delivery of  the line "Cos I need heaven" is just killer!

I've seen the Christmas Specials and all I can say is it's the perfect wrap-up to a perfect series.  It's two hours long and set three years from end of Season 2.  The States got a taste of it for the first time just last week and the DVD drops November 16.  Ricky Gervais was in fact on Letterman to promote it.  Wonder how that went.

There's a US version coming soon and Ricky Gervais is wishing it luck but keeping his distance, saying he's not at all involved with it in any capacity creative or otherwise.  Given how the Yanks murdered Coupling who can blame him.  Looks promising though -- it stars The Daily Show's Steve Carell as one of the key players (Brent?).

I hope StarWorld airs the Specials.  It doesn't have to do it right after the final episode which by my calculation falls late November (BBC UK itself aired it just last Christmas, a year after the last ep).  Starworld airing it around this Christmas instead would actually be, well, perfect!

Four down, two eps to go for Series 2...

Brent: (Bragging) "You know what they're paying me to talk for 15 minutes?"
Keith: (without a care as usual) "No."
Brent: "300 quid!"
Keith: "That's 1200 an hour."
Brent: "You do the math."
Keith: "That's 1200 an hour."

^Miscalculation on my part in that post last week.  That should mean two more episodes starting this Saturday, Nov 13, with the finale on the 20th.  Last Saturday's was Episode 4.

Speaking of which, looks like things are heating up between Tim and Rachel, in fact they look like they've done the horizontal mambo.  Special appearance of Simon the computer guy.  And Brent gets a gig as a motivational speaker.  I actually had to watch that one through the fingers of my hands covering my face.

Brent (pointing out Keith): "He's fatty fatty toad boy!"  (or was it toady toady fat boy, i forget)

Boyakasha!

It was Red Nose day in Wernham Hogg last Saturday.  Everybody did something crazy: Gareth hopped on one leg, Keith was Ali G,  Dawn sold kisses for a quid. (Tim paid and Dawn insisted on giving him the merchandise.) Neil and Rachel danced Saturday Night Fever.  Not to be outdone, Brent did some impromptu "Flashdance MCHammer sh it".  All in the spirit of raising money for Comic Relief.  In the end, a self-styled "comic" is himself relieved.

Final episode next Saturday.  God I hope they air the Christmas Specials.

Post by: JdelaCruz on Nov 21, 2004 at 02:40 PM
Well, there ya have it folks. Gareth sure had a big smile on his face as the series ended. In closing, Brent quotes Dolly Parton and "t!ts" ends up being the very last word he utters in this "documentary". Good for a final laugh that belies the heaviness of this particular ep. Final shot of a dispirited Dawn answering the phone was a whopper.

This show truly deserves all the superlatives that have ever been used to describe it.

Note on the Christmas Specials: StarWorld has been airing teasers of its December special programming and The Office ain't there. Dare we hope that the Specials air this Saturday and the next?

From TIME Magazine Best of TV 2004:

No.7
THE OFFICE FINALE
( B B C A m e r i c a )

This list generally focuses on the best new TV shows of the year rather than returning favorites. But this departed British workplace sitcom, which led the TIME TV list for 2003, was so nice I had to name it twice—first, for its two six-episode seasons last year; now, for going out in style. In a year of mediocre send-offs for shows that lasted past their prime (Friends, Frasier, Sex and the City), this two-hour finale kept its cruel, awkward humor while ending on a note of sweetness (who was heartless enough not to want star-crossed coworkers Tim and Dawn to get together?). It even offered a believable touch of redemption and hope for boss-from-hell David Brent (Ricky Gervais). NBC is working on an adaptation for next year; if they can find the American equivalent of this comedy of quiet desperation, it'll be welcome on next year's list too.

---- end ----

I saw the plug for the Rod Stewart Concert on StarWorld and I distinctly heard "Handbags and Gladrags" being sung in the background. I think I'll be watching it just for that. January 1, 2005 8pm StarWorld.

Had to see this one for myself, so thank you BitTorrent.  8)

Surprising how close the first ep is to the original's pilot. From the wazzaaap to the jello to the post-it pilferage. The office lay-out is pretty much similar, even the phones ring the same way.

However Tim is now Jim, but still with the unkempt hair. The Gareth character is Deputy Sheriff on the side instead of being in the Reserve Army. I found the Dawn character a little too fragile for comfort she always looks she's going to burst out in tears every time. Carell to his credit holds his own. This will either make him or break him and I'm leaning towards the former.

This version works for people who haven't seen the original and in the US it's like 99% of the population. And it doesn't have a laugh track so that in itself is extraordinary.

Gervais and Merchant are credited as executive producers and writers. I don't know if that's the case all series long. I certainly didn't expect the first ep to be almost a photocopy of the British pilot, and I hope the show parts ways with its the original in the coming eps. Otherwise, why do it at all.

All in all, it's not that bad. And the US actors certainly have nicer teeth. ;D

Post by: JdelaCruz on Apr 05, 2005 at 11:44 AM
I saw the second episode of the US version and man it was cringe-o-rama funny. Still executive produced (whatever that means) by Gervais and Merchant but now written by BJ Novak, one of the cast members so this one's an original.

It was Diversity Day at The Office, mandated by corporate because of employee complaints over Michael's Chris Rock routine. Race has been one of the funny subjects of the original. But while it got fleeting (but still bitingly funny) treatment there, the US version tackles it head on with a full episode. And man it was flat out hilarious! If this is any indication of things to come then we sure got a show to watch this season.

Speaking of less-than-subtle treatments, the "Tim and Dawn" story is being played to the hilt here this early in the series, and with the subdued tone of a ghetto beatbox (sorry, this ethnic diversity episode really got to me.) Not too crazy about that but we'll see.

Speaking of less-than-subtle treatments, the "Tim and Dawn" story is being played to the hilt here this early in the series,

- I'm not feeling the American "Tim & Dawn" (Jim ba yung name? And the girl, Pamela?). They don't have chemistry. Unlike Tim & Dawn --- so cute together.
- Caught episode 3 of Office USA. They did their version of "Gareth Invetigates" but not as funny as the original version. Although funny yung invented diseases....cracked me up! ;D

BJ Novak plays the boss?
Title: Re: The Office UK/The Office: An American Workplace
Post by: JdelaCruz on Apr 07, 2005 at 06:03 PM
^The boss is played by Steve Carell who used to be in The Daily Show with John Stewart.  He was also in Bruce Almighty and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and played a newscaster in both.

BJ Novak plays one of the staff, the one who looks like Stewart Copeland of The Police.  His character hasn't seen much action just yet.

Have yet to see how they redid that Gareth Invetigates ep.  It's a good thing to know the third ep still isn't short on laughs.

Ah! The newscaster! ;D Thought he looked familiar. I googled BJ Novak just now. He's the new guy pala....supposed to be the cute new guy who got together with the boss' best friend's daughter in the original Office. But in the US version, wala pa ata yung story line na yun.

^Been having problems with PLDT DSL for a full week now and I can't get a hold of ep 3, darn it.

Anyway, just found out that STARWORLD is currently airing BBC's The Office 2 eps BACK TO BACK every Sunday at 10 - 11 pm.   Last night, one episode was Tim's birthday, and the other one was the classic Free Love Freeway ep.

I read somewhere that Gervais and one of the Gallagher brothers were planning to make a single out of that song.  Wonder what happened there.

Wonder what happened there.

hehehe...if I were in the conference, I'd ask David Brent to do an acoustic version of "More to Lose"!!!

Astig, dibaaaa........

Started watching the first three episodes of the NBC version. I like them so far. Can't wait to get to the much-talked about finale of last season.

Still have to get started with the BBC version.

The US version is actually pretty good (which surprised me). I LOVE LOVE LOVE the original BBC series, so I was really worried that the show will be dumbed down when it gets "translated" for NBC. The pilot didn't do the show any favors as well, since it was like an awkward line for line reading of the first BBC episode.

But it goes smoothly from there, with the NBC version slowly but surely finding its own footing and getting an identity for itself. The supporting cast of the NBC version is actually pretty good, and the writers of the NBC version actually chose to expand their focus beyond the four core characters of the BBC version.

Not to give anything away (although I don't really know how anyone can be spoiler-free these days), the last episode of the second season of the US version is heading towards "uncharted BBC version territory". A special message to the writers of the NBC version:

DON'T. BLOW. IT.

(heheh. got that from Entertainment Weekly)

Oh, I love that ending! They departed from the BBC version.... risky, but it worked very well. It's not even a chick moment, guys swooned in some other forum. ;D So.... I take back what I said last year about not feeling Jim and Pam. I now love them.

My favorite episode for Season 2? "Ryan started the fire...lalalala....lalalala"..... ;D

I'm definitely getting that set...  And like another person at the above link said, I'm hoping that they include the cast's "The More You Know" PSA's.

This is the only sitcom i'm really following right now.  Well, this AND Entourage (which I also HIGHLY recommend!).

The pilot episode of the NBC version debuted on Star World earlier tonight but started telling friends to see the second episode next week instead. This is how I got my sister hooked in spite of her loathing of Steve Carell. She hated The 40-Year Old Virgin. It also helped that John Krasinski is around.

Yup! It's the best episode to acquaint with the characters.

My favorite scenes are that of Michael, imitating Chris Rock: What you want, a cookie? and Pam sleeping on Jim's shoulder.

Just watched the first episode of season 3...  And I'm happy to say that the show still hasn't lost its' touch!

[SPOILERS]

It's a bit of a downer how the writers resolved the Pam and Jim thing, but I think that it's necessary so that the show can move forward...  Not seeing Jim (oh, sorry, Big Tuna) at the Scranton office and taking part in Michael and Dwight's shenanigans made me miss the guy, and I think the writers intended it to be that way so that the viewers would, in a way, feel like how it would be in Pam's shoes.  Brilliant!

I've seen a pic from Jenna Fischer's myspace page that leads me to believe that the Scranton and Stamford brances might be merged soon (just like the 2nd season of the UK series), but that's just pure speculation on my part, so I can't wait to see how this season unfolds...

Things I loved about the season opener:
- the KISS!!!
- the GAYDAR!!!
- Roy's MUG SHOT!!!

[/END SPOILER]

The premiere episode of season 3 was comic genius. It was funny and bittersweet at the same time. The tone was more akin to the British series. It's too bad that, just like Arrested Development, not even an Emmy win translated to more viewers. Even a clip show of Grey's Anatomy had more viewers!  >:( Hope the network gives the show a long leash.

Not a lot of laugh-out loud moments but a couple of interesting new plot points.

Joss Whedon in Da House!

So much has happened since my last blog.  We lost a Golden Globe, I met Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, and we've shot 2 more hilarious episodes of The Office…we are shooting one right now in fact.  So, starting next week...no more reruns!

I wanted to post a whole blog about the Golden Globes along with photos but I never got around to it.  For the last week and a half we've been shooting on different locations so I've had limited computer access.  Also, the camera battery on my digital camera died and I cannot find the charger which means I can't power it up to download any of the photos.  (I asked Lynn to buy us a new charger today.  Just another example of the type of things a personal assistant does for you.)  Hopefully I can post some pictures soon.  I have a great one of B.J. Novak at the Golden Globes ceremony typing on his Blackberry.  (Typical.)

The Golden Globes were pretty cool…until the part where we lost.  It picked up again at the after party when Ben Affleck came over to our group and geeked out on the show.  He told me to quiz him to prove he was a true fan.  I thought, "Okay amazing and talented movie star Ben Affleck who is too cute for words…what is Dwight's middle name?"  And he said, "Um…I know it…wait…Kurt!"  Then he called over his wife – that would be Jennifer Garner – and she geeked out too.  Jennifer Garner is STUNNING by the way.

That was pretty much the highlight of the night.  Some other things I can tell you:  Patrick Dempsey is HOT, Reese Witherspoon is totally sexy and beautiful.  I didn't get very close to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie but I saw them from across the room and stared at them for about 5 minutes…that is no exaggeration.  I literally stared for 5 minutes…which is creepily longer than it sounds.

The night ended with me and B.J. vamping for the People photographers.  I actually spent most of the evening with B.J. and Angela.  We stood in line for a party where we saw everyone from Paris Hilton to P. Diddy.  It was a crazy night.  But truthfully I mostly wished that I was at home with my husband watching the Season Premiere of 24.  The Globes were fun but not as much fun as watching Jack Bauer murder a man with his mouth.

In officeland…our newest scripts are SO GOOD that I actually yelped during our latest script reading.  When I heard the plot of our next script I gasped!  I wish I could say more.  I think you will be very pleased.  There are lots of cringy, wonderful, funny moments.  And some very touching ones as well.

This week we are shooting with hot shot director Joss Whedon!  This has been especially exciting for me because I already knew Joss.  (He has known my husband for a long time.)  Joss has quickly become one of our favorite directors.  The crew loves him.  He's a huge fan of the show and therefore gets really into every detail of the show.  He watches us even when we are in the background of a scene and compliments our smallest of choices.  It's been a total dream.  I'm currently the background of a scene and I can see him hunched over the monitors watching a scene and giggling like a little girl.  I'm going to miss him.

I feel like there are a bunch of things to announce.  Like the fact that our producers Greg Daniels and Kent Zbornak won the Producers Guild Award for producing our little show.  We got picked up for another season.  We will be back next year!  And, if I may do a little wifely bragging…my husband's movie SLiTHER was the 8th best reviewed movie of the year according to Rotten Tomatoes.  They compile all of the reviews from major publications and make a list of the Top 10 Movies of the Year and Slither was #8!  For a horror movie to make the Top 10 is pretty remarkable.  So, things are good in the Gunn/Fischer house.

Look for us at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday night on TBS and TNT.  God, I hope we win.  I actually get a statue if we win.  That would be cool.

I watched the pilot of the NBC version 2+ years ago, and I quickly dismissed this show as another inferior remake of a Britcom, since that's what the pilot was.

A few months ago, seasons 1 and 2 were included in a very limited sale at Amazon, and I figured, at almost 50% off SRP, why not give it another shot? The reviews seemed good enough, anyway. The sets were languishing on my shelves since they arrived, though.

I've spent the last two weeks doing a marathon of NBC's first 2 seasons, and it's absolutely brilliant. I even prefer it to the original at this point. And the DVDs are fantastic! Each episode has 4-10 minutes of deleted scenes, 99% of which are excellent and true to the show's humor - obviously just deleted because of time constraints.

I can't wait to start Season 3 next week. Maybe I'll even catch up in time for the season finale.  ;D

Oh, crap:

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, NBC may be about to pay a major compliment to Grey's Anatomy. Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that the Peacock is developing an episode of The Office that would introduce several new characters who would then be spun off into a new series à la Private Practice.

However, unlike Practice, which stole Grey's regular Kate Walsh to anchor the new series, the proposed Office 2 is not expected to include any of the mother ship's core cast. In fact, producers are already casting about for a "name" to headline the potential show.

So, your thoughts on whom the star should be? A downsized Jim Carrey? The underrated Ed "Al Bundy" O'Neill, past due for a comeback? Mike Myers, set loose weekly in a blue-collar playground? And should NBC really go through with this plan, or is one Office a week enough?

They should just do some kind of bizarre crossover with Heroes, featuring Jack Coleman as someone who also managed a paper company.  ;D

This isn't hard to do, as both shows are on NBC and years ago, something like this was already done, when St. Elsewhere (a drama) crossed over with Cheers (a comedy)--the doctors of St. Eligius visited the bar and traded barbs with the staff.

This ISN'T just  a crossover, but an actual spin-off series, right?  Which is a silly idea, really, and typical of  big, bullying , belaboring  America/Hollywood.

The Steve Carrell Office has its moments , I must admit, (the Whedon episode is one) but its most prominent feature is its immensity and sense of exageration - - - it's, what, Season 4 now? - - - and how it seems to bulldoze any memory  or interest in the Ricky Gervais/Stephen Merchant British original, which ran for a sweet, succint 14 episodes.  Half its fans probably don't know or care this is a remake.

And now, a spin-off. Not surprised really. Hollywood's big on milking the cow til its dry. This is a cash-in, no doubt.

BTW, they're calling it The Office 2. Conveniently forgetting that the American Office is The Office 2.

I assume you mean the first Whedon episode, with the bat? Last Thursday's Whedon-directed episode was what I'd consider a low point in the series. I didn't like it at all.

But, The Office is enjoying its best ratings yet this year, so... what do I know?

Yup. Not the new one. Haven't seen it yet. After what you said, not that excited to see it. I've seen l;itte of the new season but I think it's gotten more "American" (read : lowbrow) which probably explains the higher ratings. Or maybe it's taken the audience this long to acclimatize to the admittedly alien (to American TV screens at least) format.

I think the biggest mistake of the new season so far was having 4 hour long episodes in a row. Critics and fans have pointed out pacing issues and disjointed story lines. Funny thing is, once it got back to the half hour format, some of these so called fans and critics wanted more.

How sad that NBC won't put it out of its misery.

I liken this to Smallville. I watched just so I can see what happens next. The same thing when anyone passes by a car wreck.

I stopped watching this show ever since Michael Scott left the Office. Just wasn't the same anymore. NBC please let it die gracefully like "Friends"...

After quitting last season, I decided to play catch up this weekend, since I've been seeing mostly positive reviews online.

So far, this ninth season? It's pretty good. I think it's even better than some of the middle seasons of Carell.

Looking forward to seeing how it all ends.

If you ever watched The Office, do yourself a favor an catch the series finale that aired yesterday in the States.

I thought it was the perfect ending for the show.

Yup. It's on Hulu and also your usual torrent sites, which I'm not endorsing, just mentioning. ;)

The ending was so great it could have been made into a movie!

Not exaggerating but it's the best series finale i have watched so far...quite sad that Michael Scott was not in the actual office though..but i certainly liked his last quote:
"It's like all my children grew up..and they married each other..that's every parents' dream"

One of the best TV comedy series ever. Good thing it’s still available on Netflix US.
