This is good but I hope we get to be accepted for Paypal so that we can also transact for other eBay sites.  :)

i emailed paypal 2 weeks ago and they said wala pa sila sa Pinas. since meron na palang ebay philippines, maybe malapit na magkaroon since paypay is an ebay company.

As far as I'm concerned, I would think that eBay Phil. will be largely no good unless it opens PayPal for us to use.

yeah that's another consequences pala......since majority of ebay users like me will most likely buy on the international site..... :)

some of the sellers in the u.s. opt not to allow paypal payments due to higher transaction costs in getting their money.

as i said before, it won't be that similar to what american ebay is offering because there aren't that much sellers here so there's nothing to search for.  i have visited, australian and singaporean ebay and there aren't enough items to bid too.

I'm a PayPal user so I'd be happy to stick back to ebay US. Exactly as krets pulpol put it...there aren't enough items to bid too. In US sites...wow..u can spend one FULL day searching & it's still ain't enough!  :)

Pa-ride naman!!! Hehehe

I purchased a coupleof things from E-bay US before by using Western Union Auctions Payment but not all sellers accept this payment method and medyo hassle since you get additional charges for the processing fees by Western Union

I also picked some up when I was in the US last year using money order payment... The efficiency of the US Postal Service really makes me want to cry when I use the POs here...

i have a paypal account and it's very good and secure.  this is the most preferred payment method in ebay US and UK.  mas mahal pag ginamit yung western union, bidpay.

Yep agree!  ;) Tho the initial new a/c process setup was a bit hassle & inconvenient (if you would like to send money or make payment), but definitely worthwhile! The security check is stringent. Many verification steps involved. Glad I'm a member making purchasing online esp in USA a much enjoyable experience. Most important thing is it's secure & there's no worry of credit card fraud or error.  :D

I have made several purchases already at the ebay.ph, some i got at good prices.

But I wanted to share my recent purchase that went bad.  I saw a copy of Pretty Woman recently there that was priced around P250, item decription stated that it was bought in Korea, region 3 encoding.  I contacted the seller to confirm if the DVD was indeed original, a girl named MONETTE answered my queries and confirmed that it was an original.  So I placed a higher bid (there was an existing bid) and won the item several days after.  The seller then contacted me to deposit the payment of the item plus the shipping since the dvd was in ANTIPOLO and no time for her sister to meet up with me in Ortigas Center. after depositing I waited two (2) days for the dvd to arrive, to my suprise this is what i got:

(http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/8342/30010614463od.th.jpg) (http://img299.imageshack.us/my.php?image=30010614463od.jpg) (http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/3504/30010614472np.th.jpg) (http://img100.imageshack.us/my.php?image=30010614472np.jpg)

Looked like it came from Quiapo

I have complained to the seller that she sold me a pirated DVD  >:(  She promised the refund the money but it's been 5 days already and she's been rejecting my calls.  The shipping cost was even higher that the value of the pirated DVD she gave me!

I placed a negative feedback but somehow, she was able to hide her feedbacks from public view! one clever liar, girl pa naman  :-\

I was able to sell 3 items in Ebay.ph. All transaction are hand to hand (kaliwaan ika nga)

I guessed delivery is not a good option here in the PI. Hard to track sellers unlike in the US.

I too was almost swindled by an ebay.ph seller last year.

He was selling Smallville S4 for 900 (among other tv series titles), and the auction title specifically indicated that it was "sealed original region 1".

because of the low price, i immediately had doubts. when i first texted him i repeatedly asked "are you sure it's orig r1?" almost to the point of saying "coz i only collect originals and i'll know in an instant if it's fake".

still, he confirmed it was orig, and reassuringly said "meet na lang tayo para makita mo." i had him meet me near my house so i won't be too inconvenienced in case he's pulling one on me.

because my gut was telling me he was trying to con me, i even decided to bring my smallville s1, not for comparison purposes, but to shame him if my gut-feel was right! (shame on me)  ;D

so i went to meet him, and even before he fully took the DVD out of his paper bag, i knew, like most of us members here, that it was fake. a run-of-the mill, quiapo version, i may add. but to his credit, it was shrink-wrapped.  :P

still, probably because i was in a decent mood that day, i did my best to still be courteous and think well of his intentions. sabi ko na lang: "ahh. kasi pirated ito eh. gusto ko sana orig" and some other small talk. of course, i showed him the original specimen, and he had a rather passive, blank, and innocent, i must say, expression on his face. when i asked where he got it (feigning interest), he mumbled something about his girlfriend getting it somewhere.

buti na lang the entire meeting took all of about 10minutes of my time. i soon forgot his ebay handle as i made up my mind not to think about the incident anymore. he's probably still selling his wares there.

a lot of sellers there does not know the concept of auction, some posting a single item several times during an auction cycle. If you ask them how many pieces they have, nag iisa lang pala.

This is ebay's reply to my email yesterday:

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. My name is Bryan and I appreciate the
opportunity to assist you with your questions regarding the seller's
feedback.

I understand that the seller has made his feedback private, to hide the
feedback comments. However, members are really allowed to do so. I can
assure you that the negative feedback placed on the seller's account,
will serve as a warning for all other buyers. Also, by making the
feedback profile private, members may decrease other eBay participants'
desire to conduct business with them. Please also note that while the
comments will be private, other members will still be able to see the
number of positive, neutral and negative comments on a member profile.

Thank you for being a valued member of the eBay community, and have a
great day.

Regards,

Bryan B.

i actually sell my pirated sets there but at a cheap price ( around P30 per disc only) because I won't be watching them ever again. But I don't mislead people, someone asked me if it was original. I replied that do you expect to but a complete season of Dead Zone for P200 only. Of course it is not original.
