I saw a commercial about broadband TV on Star channel. Anyone got any info on that?
-
You mean, STAR World, right?
I wonder how the shift to broadband TV would affect local cable and satellite subscriptions here in the Philippines.
-
I think this will just apply to Hong Kong.
-
Have you seen this one? From what I know, it will be ad-driven:

I think this is also IPTV. True this would require DSL connections but i think there willbe greater improvement in quality as they have also improved the compression techniques.

Effective May 2006, Disney will make all its TV shows available for free download one day after the air in the States. Their catalogue includes Desperate Housewives, Lost and Alias. The downloaded videos will have to be viewed in a web browser, and have commercials that cannot be fast forwarded through.
This is quite a major change. I wonder if the downloads will be available to those not in the USA. Won't this affect foreign distribution rights if they are?
