Where to find Nemo? P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney... He-he. Seriously, mahirap talaga hanapin Finding Nemo DVD. I grabbed the only copy I saw in Astro Glorietta 2 weeks ago. Occasionally, nagre-restock sila. But according to the other thread, marami daw sa Astro Podium. I know it's out of your way if you're in Makati, but then, Marlin wouldn't have found Nemo had he not searched the ocean.
As for the sale tom, I wonder what it meant when "DVDs on sale will have additional discounts". Does it mean Disney DVDs will go lower than P299?

Most probably. But don't expect the sale in the same magnitude as the viva sale were you get titles for 299. As with other usual sale, probably 10% off on regular priced items.
What I want to know is if those viva titles selling for 299 would be further reduced by 10%.

You guys were trying very hard of Finding Nemo. Have you rechecked Video City Megamall? Astroplus Podium? Those 2 has the most copies I saw. When I bought mine last week, I still saw more than 10 copies at Video City and more than 15 copies at Astro-Podium.

has anyone visited astro SM makati lately? have they added other titles to their inventory? i'll passby as early as 10am to check them out. hopefully they have added more titles for the sale. sana wag lang 10% discount, sana parang the podium sale na 3 for 999 or even better... :P

good news and bad news. bad news for us early buyers of the 299 sale, kasi 250 na lang lahat pati incredibles r1 250 na rin....even flight of the phoenix na di kasama and 900 dati 250 na rin. medyo limited ang stocks lang ng other dvds.
good news is that they have a 3 for 999 sale. although the 2 disc 895 dvds are priced at 475 (terminator, bad boys 2, etc.). superbit is now only 450 pero 2 titles lang ang available, anaconda and one other title i forgot.
there are still some other dvds not included in the sale, like robots (750) pa rin. anyway i ended up buying nothing kasi wala yung mga gusto ko. but overall, i can say that the sale is better than i expected...

passed by the sale yesterday, and it has some good titles for the 3 @ 999 promo. kuha sana ako pero may prob pa ako with my r1 freaky friday. last week sep5 they told me that I can have my replacement on sep7. and until now, nde pa dumarating and they're telling me na reserved na pala ung replacement ko >:( and since ayoko nman ng ibang titles, refund sana gusto ko pero nde rin daw pwede... kailangan kong palitan daw ng ibang dvd at same price :( nde ba talaga sila pwedeng mag-refund ???

Went back there this morning to have my 6th Sense replaced but since they have no stocks already, I grabbed Saving Private Ryan 60th Anniversary Edition which is on sale for P475. Dati P650 ang sale price niya. They have fresh stocks of Spider-man 2 2-disc for P475.

Naku! misrepresntation yan. It's not true. Pareho lang sound quality. So don't feel bad. THX certification lang ang difference. I have both R1 & 3 kasi. Kaya natest ko na.

The R3 uses the same THX certified English 5.1 track and video transfer that's on the R1. Either Disney didn't want to pay the extra fee for having the logo and Optimizer app in the R3 release or the set wasn't eligible by default because the Asian language dubs were not submitted to THX for evaluation.

Baka naman may mga mababait na taga-Diliman dito na pupunta bukas sa Astro Makati at makakita kayo ng 2-disc Spiderman 2, baka puwede magpabili. Salamat in advance! ;)

Better go there when they open. In my experience, by lunchtime, nagkakaubusan. They don't restock anymore by lunchtime. Went there yesterday around 12:30pm, got the last copy of Bad Boys 2 & Spderman 2. Naubusan na ng Forrest Gump and kakakuha lang daw ng Tarzan 2 disc mga an hour earlier.
Taka lang ako about the Tarzan & Bambi. Limited stocks lang ba mga ito kahit na medyo current release naman. The Incredibles nga lumang title but ang daming stock.

What's the deal with Flight of the Phoenix? Everybody here seems to be buying it. Even when they're at P350, I see every day people buying it too. Is the movie really all that great, or is this just a pinoy thing? Rottentomatoes gave it only 29%, cream of the crop gave it 20%, and it only made $20.9 million at the box office.

Though some people buy it because they probably love the movie. More often than not since it's being a new release selling at 250, di buy it na.

Thanks! I went there this afternoon and saw the title. Another wish granted. Kakaiba itong sale na to. There's always some new titles for sale each day. Bigla na lang may sumusulpot. I'm glad I visited then everyday for the duration of the sale. Sayang nga lang at hndi pa rin umabot sa Tarzan 2-disc. Oh well, abangan na lang sa Podium sale in October.

;D I got yesterday the 2-disc version of Kung Fu Hustle and Spiderman 2, each at P475..I met and chatted with Firewired and DVDiva with son and Mongaddi.
And a pleasant surprise while testing Kung Fu Hustle. While the back cover says it's DD5.1 only, disc1 has a Cantonese DTS track in it. I said "Okay ah!" just when I was about to order the 2-disc HK version online..
Sayang nga lang I missed the 2-disc versions of Tarzan and Bambi at P250.

;D I got yesterday the 2-disc version of Kung Fu Hustle and Spiderman 2, each at P475..I met and chatted with Firewired and DVDiva with son and Mongaddi.
And a pleasant surprise while testing Kung Fu Hustle. While the back cover says it's DD5.1 only, disc1 has a Cantonese DTS track in it. I said "Okay ah!" just when I was about to order the 2-disc HK version online..
Sayang nga lang I missed the 2-disc versions of Tarzan and Bambi at P250.
pre, ako na bumili ng DD directors hehe.

I got the Saving Private Ryan 60th D Day Commemorative Edition for only Php425. 8)
Mas Ok pala itong R3 compared to R1 because the R3 has both English DD5.1 and English DTS tracks. AFAIK, the R1 has only DD5.1. Sulit!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

fyi, SPR CE R1 has DTS track when you buy the WW2 boxset. the SPR CE - R1 individual DVD set doesn't have DTS track though.

Just to let everybody know, the Kung Fu Hustle DVD now has 3 versions!
The cheapest is at P299.00, the midpriced one is at P895 and the 2 DVD set at P999.00.
Nakakahilo talaga ang Magnavision, coz the P299 and P895 dvds have the same features,
(as far as I can surmise from the back covers of both dvds). The one that really stands out
is the 2 dvds set. Magnavision should stop producing the P299 version of their titles.
Nahihilo na ang mga customers nila. And it's creating a big headache for the stores selling
their dvds. Imagine the trouble they have doing the inventory of the titles.
Just like what happend in the Astro SM Makati sale, nagkamalimali ang sale price ng
Kung Fu Hustle DVD, kasi nga 3 versions ang binebenta nila. And if you compare the P299 version
to the regular priced dvds (esp. when it is put on sale), di sulit!

After the Astro SM Makati sale...next up would be Astro Podium sale on Sept 30, Oct 1 & 2.
Better get the titles I missed out sa SM Makati.

Sir, I think that's a problem with the R1 copy. My copy have occasional minor pauses too. It was also addressed in the DVDTown review. Here is the link:

I think I screwed up bigtime. I bought Harry Potter 1, 2, and 3 during this sale. I just realized right now that the part 1 I got is in fullscreen! The second and third one is widescreen, so those two are ok. I'm now stuck with this one and have to rebuy this title.
Is there a widescreen version of HP 1? Do you guys think Astro will allow me to exchange this for the widescreen version?
