gets Pitch Black is one cool DVD! Very very slick.
What T2 Disc do you have? Is it the Ultimate Edition?
In, my collection, I would have to say:
Saving Private Ryan
U-571 (DTS)
Jurassic Park
Gladiator
What's yours?
Just to update my list: :D
I would say that the best sounding Discs in my DVD collection are:
T2 - The Ultimate Ed. (DTS)
Space Jam
and I would love to have SPR the (DTS) version coz its sound effects rocks... 8)
Those who find SPR (DTS) as one of those great movies that has an excellent audio, try "Enemy at the Gate", bigat din ng dating nito mga tsong!! ::)
Hey Shakobe!
Thanks for the info......I'll try looking for "ENEMY AT THE GATE" nga .....Is it DD or DTS???
Thanks
PARC
Pareng Parc
Although my R1 copy is not DTS release (i'm not sure if there is DTS release of Enemy..) pero hanep ang sound!! just like in SPR, mapapasigaw ka ng "take cover, Men!!" :D ;D
gotta add vertical limit to the list!
i 1st rented this and i found the story very weak, pero i was impressed w/ the audio quality...so kahit pangit yung movie, i still bought the dvd dahil sa sound mix! :)
napayuko nga ako doon sa helicopter scene dahil parang nasa ibabaw ng ulo ko yung propeller! :D
bently
anything: DTS and Dolby digital 5.1 !!!
Old movies usually has Dolby Digital 2 channel lang. I have Ice Castles and Made in America for example. Bitin talaga sila which usually forces me to use DSPs para magamit naman the other speakers.
Well, I am adding THE ONE to the best sounding DVDs in my collection.
Saving Private Ryan (DTS)
The Haunting (DTS ES)
The Peacemaker (DTS)
Jurasic Park 123 (DTS)
Terminator 2 UE (DTS EX)
Gladiator (DTS ES)
U57 (DTS)
Pearl Harbor (DTS)
Behind Enemy Lines (DTS)
I am going to collect DVD movies with good sound effects. I like a movie that rocks the house. Yung mga dumadagondong na tunog..... like Jurassic Park... Godzilla, We were soldiers, black hawk down........
Can you suggest any DVD movie thats ROCKS you while watching?(di kasama dito mga ROCK comcert ahhh..) ;D
Bad Boys
Saving Private Ryan
Black Hawk Down
The Mummy and The Mummy Returns
Vertical Limit
swordfish
U-571
saving ryan's private
matrix
air force 1
eagles hell freezes over
sting brand new day
corrs live in london
phil collins

bro dexterc
i agree with spr, pero I think the Alamo scene rocks more than the opening scene. in fact, i saw the dts demo disk uses this scene instead of the omaha beach scene. :)
Agree about the Alamo scene being a better demo for sound. The one big difference is the presence of TANKS! And there are the CANNONS that those tanks use!
As I have noticed in this thread that those movies with a lot of LFE's or those movies that give your sub a workout are branded as best sounding...
How about giving Diana Krall Live in Paris and Charlotte Church's Enchantment some credit ;)
bently- Where can I order the Telarc DTS Demo disc #5 that you mentioned? Any online site?
for some reason i was disappointed with the sound from the rock (criterion). still sounds great, but not at par with the titles i mentioned above
dex,
I agree..it really rocks man ehehehehe
3 times ko na nga pinanood yan eh..ehehehe...minsan pinapakinggan ko lang at di ko pinapanood..ehehehe
Star Wars Attack of the Clones. Try the Asteroid Chase scene where the Slave1 is chasing the Jedi Starfighter. :)
Star Wars Attack of the Clones. Try the Asteroid Chase scene where the Slave1 is chasing the Jedi Starfighter. :)
i liked that scene too!, that's one of the cool mix where the audio pans from the front to the back/surround speakers.
my only complaint about the sound is that when ever a big carrier ship pans on the screen, the walls in my house starts shaking...this was cool at first, but it gets old and kinda detracks your attention to the movie...they really put the lfe channel on steriods on this mix.
The best sounding DVD I have is my Charlie Chaplin collection!
Same observation as above..everytime i want to test my HT i play this scene ;D ::) :oStar Wars Attack of the Clones. Try the Asteroid Chase scene where the Slave1 is chasing the Jedi Starfighter. :)

austin powers:goldmember(infinifilm).....i love it's shaggedelic DTE-ES sound!!!!ya baby!!! ;D
While watching T3, one thought kept coming back. To paraphrase Roy Scheider's character in Jaws -- "We're going to need a bigger subwoofer." DVD's out on Nov. 18.
LOTR - DDEX
Star Wars EP 1- DDEX
Star Wars EP 2- DDEX
Toy Story 1 & 2- DDEX
X-men 1.5 - DTS
Moulin Rouge - DTS
Gladiator - DTSES
T2UE - DTSES
We Were Soldiers - DDEX
How about best-sounding concert DVDs?
Amadeus
this dvd put all my speakers to the test. just awesome. a notch better than moulin rouge
bunkieboy, is the one you have the new special edition?
How about best-sounding concert DVDs?
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
Memo to the DTS addicts - you gotta have this one. It ranks up there with the Superbits. The ship slicing through the water, the cannonballs tearing through the ships, the gentle creaking and bobbing of the ship, even the violin-and-cello duets - everything is captured well. Do you sometimes feel that the surround mix is too subtle on some DVDs? Not on this one!
how come everyone in this thread keeps referring to the Jurassic Park dvd as DTS? I this the R1 version? I've got the R3 Collector's Edition and it's just dolby digital.
I was able to view once a Dolby Digital Demo disc that featured the 2Fast 2Furious opening race scene. Astig when Brian Spilner (hope i spelled that right) flew over that other car!
