Aaron Spelling dies at 83 (http://us.rd.yahoo.com/my/today/tv_producer_aaron_spelling_has_died_at_83;_ylt=Ap9HH7TT0LOmVm3Q2S0OgN0L1vAI/*http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/spelling_obit)
It is the end of an era. Most of us grew up watching his shows. I didn't know he produced the guilty pleasure, Soapdish. Milton Moorehead! ;D

The guy produced trashy television and he knew it! But he had a pulse on what the public WANTED during almost every decade - from fantasy/jiggle TV in the 70s to over-the-top greed in the 80s to teen/yuppie soaps in the 90s. True, they weren't art, but no one can question that his productions were entertaining.
The only thing he produced that wasn't entertaining was probably (say it with me...):
Tori! ::)
Thanks for the decades of mindless fun, Mr. Spelling. You will be missed.

definitely the end of a "dynasty"... pun intended. :(
and hey... tori was "entertaining"... but more for her tumultuous personal life ... than her acting. :P

I thank him for Beverly Hills 90210, but because of Melrose Place, I won't be mourning his death.
