Title: CDP with 25K budget
Post by: alexg on Aug 16, 2006 at 05:08 PM
If I have 20 to 25K burning a hole in my pocket, bitten by SARS and am really convinced that my Pioneer Universal Player sucks, what CD Player should I be looking for.  ;D

Rotel or NAD CD player.

Or you can try the China-made CD player like with Master MAtZTER.

I plan to organize a group buy for the BADA CDP, the more participants, baka bumaba yung cost.

Sorry guys, I am shelving this plan. But there will be local dealers selling these CDPs here.

Anybody of you owns a Rotel RCD 06?

How good or bad is it?

Another alternative to the Bada is Original.  Check out their website at www.original-cd.com.  This company specializes in cd players.  They have a tube player that goes for around Php20k in HK (www.coemaudio.com).

Hey man, you can also try Usher Audio's CD-1 CDP, which is around P19K via Architectural Audio. I just got mine a few days ago. You can visit AA's store in Makati for an audition of CD-1 with RCD-02. You can find a good and comprehensive review by "odyo" regarding the Usher CDP and you can find more via Usher's web site (http://www.usheraudio.com).

Check out the parts of the CDP, the internal parts are important to see if what you paid for is value for money.

click here (http://pinoydvd.com/board/index.php?topic=42114.588) for picture (reply #609)

I came from Jetok's house last night with New Age. These tweak experts opened up the CDP and found:
Solen caps
PCM 1732 burr brown
Op amp bur brown 2604
Rubicon electrolytic caps
Philips Transport
Dual Tranny
Single tube 6n3.

Jet says the CDP uses the same DAC & some parts as his new Rotel 1070 cdp.  8)

New Age has also opened up XXX brand CDP before and found all generic parts (nameless) inside. So he was very surprised with the parts used here.
