By experience, mga VCDs lang naka sale for both malls. Mga naka permanent price reduction lang ang mga DVDs that are sold during these times.

Yup, laging ganun ang sale sa Megamall.
Talagang walang tatalo sa sale ng Podium.

Actually tinalo na ng Astro SM Makati ang sale ng Podium...at least for this year.

Well, as they are all Astrovision, it all boils down to what the Distributor decides...
Let's just hope they will add lots of titles that were not in the Podium and MOA sales. Coming so close to each other, and with the truly devoted DVD buyers going to all the sales, they need to add something that was not there before... to up the ante, so to speak...

Warner confirmed that the sale events this weekend in Megamall, all Robinson's malls, and Powerplant in Rockwell will include their DVD releases.

Just noticed that Batman Anthology's price had dropped. 1299 na lang at pinoyDVD.biz. So unless mall (with sales) have it at even lower prices, you could just pick it up at the comfort of your living room... Limited stocks remaining.

For me, the appeal of these mall sales are declining rapidly. That said, see you all tomorrow either at Megamall or Robinson Place Manila :)

Speaking of the online store, just got word from randyv that Matrix, The Ultimate Collection Boxset will drop to Php2,500 starting tomorrow but I'm not sure what time the new price will take effect.

mga sirs, if anyone passes by any of the sales, kindly post naman po some noteable titles you see... :) at least everyone would have an idea if its worth going to. :) TIA

Just came from Mega - nothing really interesting there. The discounted DVDs are mostly from Warner so if you missed the Podium sale, you may find some good deals. Saw West Wing Season 6 for Php1,100 but held off from buying since I wasn't sure if the price was actually discounted.

I came from both the Megamall and Robinson's Galleria branches. The Megamall branch is holding a sale, although not as big as the Podium sale. No new titles were up on sale there. Not even the Magna titles that had been reduced to Php 650 (from the original Php 895) in the Podium sale two weeks ago. As for the Galleria branch, don't bother going. They're not on sale at all. Although some Viva titles are still down to Php 299, such as Narnia. But the Warners and Magnas there are all regular-priced.

Price drop mostly on C-interactive titles only (from 299 - 250).

Narnia at Video City Megamall at P299..Got 2 copies tonight..Dami-dami pa
Walk the Line 2-disc at same price at Astroplus. Narnia, however, is a dismal P900 so don't harass the salesclerks ok?
-
i was lucky enough to get the following titles last Friday (medyo hard to find):
Megamall (Videocity): Goal! P299
Galleria (Astrovision): Casanova P299
it was very well worth the hunt! ;)
-
Got Kung Fu Hustle for P475 at Astro Megamall. This is the 2disc version and has cantonese DTS. ;D
-

Sir, are you referring to the new Narnia movie? For 299, i think its real cheap. I might check it out later. :)

I got Victory, Space Jam and a few others puro warner. This thing im wondering, Malaki ang effect ng SALE I dont know why For example people buy more on these sale (siempre) but what im talking about is the prices that are already been sitting there for a while you see on regular days. For example, warners at 275, or the 350 prices and viva 299. On regular days people dont buy much (I think) pero sa sale kahit ganun din price and did not go any lower. People tend to buy hmmm.. do you guys notice this?
-
Totoo iyan. Most Warners discount are not even limited to those sale days. Karamihan permanent discount, where you can get from PinoyDVD.biz without the hassle, but once you are there, parang something pulling you to get it...
-
Siguro people buy them out of convenience or panghihinayang na lang. I mean, pag Sale, people flock to the stores with the expectation of big discounts. If there are not too many titles on special sale, siguro people tend to buy na lang the titles on regular sale (the 299 Viva's and 350 Warners) para di naman sila manghinayang sa pagpunta nila. Also I think people still expect those regular sale DVD's to be priced much lower during special sales, so ang tendency, di muna pinapansin pag regular days, and when a special sale day comes, if the prices don't go any lower, then what the heck, bili na anyway.
