According to a link to a blog on the Heroes thread, CBS rejected Studio 23's bid so this will not be airing in the Philippines?  :'(

Buti na lang digital age na... sana maayos na yung Taiwan earthquake-related problems by February...  ::)

If I'm not mistaken, I saw a promo of the show in one of the SOLAR networks (might have been Crime/Suspense).

Yeah, I just saw the promo now. Crime/Suspense nga.

Now I wonder if they'll carry the satellite feed or not.

From the promos, it seems that for those with cable, the network shift is better, since the "live" feed is actually the East Coast Feed, and the season starts on Crime/Suspense this Friday at 8AM:

I hope they're not simply mistaken, since throughout Southeast Asia, Survivor's "live feed" has always been the same delayed and commercial-free version as Studio 23's in the past.

Primetime Replay is also on Friday, 10PM.

Yeah, I guess they were initially mistaken, like I thought when they first announced the 8AM schedule.

I'm just curious why it's at 3PM instead of the regular 1PM. Maybe they'll be adding commercials and station plugs to the normally commercial-free satellite feed.

I miss Studio 23's broadcast. Still, I'm grateful the show is being aired locally. Either it was due to the imrpoved editing or the show struck gold with casting, the premiere episode did a great job in drawing out the characters of most of the castaways. This installment looks very promising.

Thank God the Foxy Brown wannabe's gone. Couldn't stand her attitude.

Not a very exciting season so far. I did like the announcement that you need to use the hidden immunity idol before votes are read this season. So you can now be blindsided by your tribemates into losing it by making you think you're in trouble when you're actually not.  ;D

I liked the tribal shuffle this week.

Just a head's up for anyone else here watching the show (it seems like it's only me). Starting next week, the C/S live feed will be on Fridays at 2PM (instead of 3PM). Replay schedule still the same.

That was the best episode of the season so far. It was also the funniest immunity challenge I've seen in a while.

Fake idol? Genius! I hope it gets played just to see the look on Probst's face.

If the spoilers prove to be accurate, hanging on to this season could be most rewarding.

Two weeks without a post on this thread! Tsk tsk!

What a bum deal for Michelle! I think MB should take a page from PBB and announce the twist to the viewers early on (like in the answering of the telephone in PBB). That way, whatever twist they throw on to the survivors won't look rigged. There goes the only eye candy left!

I read somewhere that the franchise is wrapping up soon after a second all-stars installment.

I remember reading last January that it was renewed by CBS for two more installments in the 2007-2008 season. That would make it 16 installments... sounds to be the right time for an All-Star, since the first one was at #8.

This season just really feels like the leftover cast from the "race divide" of Survivor: Cook Islands.

Even this whole "Four Horsemen" alliance is a retread. It was already done on Big Brother 5!

Another classic episode that involved clever strategy. I think it topped the season where Cirie stirred the pot and blindsided Courtney.

Best "Scheming After Immunity Challenge" ever.

Watch it.  ;D

Loved, loved, loved this episode! I only wish it were Michelle who was there instead of Stacy.

Since this thread is very inactive, can we start discussing the episode already?

Just to be safe...

The events that have transpired today would not have taken place if Stacy were voted off. She thought of the idea to blindside the four horsemen. I love Michelle but Earl's alliance would have been more complacent if she stayed.

Yes, episode discussions are okay. As far as I'm concerned, once it's aired locally for the first time, it's free-for-all... and no one else reads this thread, anyway!  ;D

I really enjoyed the preview for next week, as well. I wonder if they just saw the hidden idol, or if they actually stole it? That would be sleazy, but there are no rules against that, are there?

I agree with Earl's assessment that Mookie was safer to keep than Alex. What they should have done instead of 3-3 was 4 for Alex and 2 for Mookie. That way, without the idol, Alex gets voted out. With the idol, it would be 2 for Mookie and 2 for whoever Mookie and Alex voted for and in the tie break, they can vote out Mookie.

I hated him throughout the season, but now that he's the lone underdog without any alliance, I'm rooting for Boo.

It's the Season Finale on Monday, May 14th already (Sunday night in the States). I'm guessing 2PM-5PM on Crime/Suspense.

I saw a teaser that said 1:30pm so tune in early just in case. :)

Still waiting on that controversial decision/act they were alluding to at the reunion show of the previous season. Would that be Dreamz going back on his word?
Title: Re: Survivor: Fiji - "LIVE" on Crime/Suspense
Post by: geckoph on May 12, 2007 at 12:19 AM
That's probably it...Yau Man should know better than to trust Dreamz...Ask Alex, Edgardo and Mookie...anyone else, this season, who were victim(s) to Dreamz's lies? Hey, Yau Man, Dreamz is no Earl.

Earl - I think he's the Yul of this season, the Godfather/Puppet master...
Dreamz - Jury enemy #1...this season's biggest Rat...
Yau Man - He's really playing hard...deserves to be in the F3...
Cassandra - Under the Radar...
Boo - I don't see him in the F3 or F4...

The jury was really full of themselves huh? (with exception of course) Sarap pag babatukan. Specially Alex and Lisi. You lost. Get over it!
Title: Re: Survivor: Fiji - "LIVE" on Crime/Suspense
Post by: Reuven Malter on May 14, 2007 at 03:40 PM
Was able to get home to catch it live. Word on Alex and Lisi! Additionally, Boo also lost a lot of goodwill when he became a fiery "Christian."

They can say what they want about Dreamz but he played the game. I really thought Yau-Man was stupid to give up the truck in the first place. But, he was a gracious loser. In his exit interview, he sounded even more disappointed that Earl voted for him instead of Cassandra. The bitter jury members should learn from him.

If the next All-Stars will push through, I hope they get Michelle again along with the rest of the players who got "screwed" (e.g. Silas, I don't mind another dose of Shii-Ann, among others). Yeah, Yau and Dreamz (from this season) should also be considered.

The season started out promising; then, flopped (mainly because of the rags vs. riches bent). However, it was rewarding for those of us who stuck it out because Fiji ended with a bang!

Another season with Dreamz would make it the first I would abstain from. At least Johnny Fairplay was clearly playing a role to live up to his persona. Dreamz is basically the rat that Susan Hawk alluded to in season one of this show. Yau cooked his own goose when he made that deal with the truck, since until that point, Dreamz was clearly the least trustworthy person who lied his way through two alliances, and never even showed any remorse or even good sinister humor about his actions. He just thought that everything he did was all normal and right. Yau should have known better. I personally don't consider what Dreamz did strategy. I call it... lack of education and absence of moral compass.

I really really enjoyed the Final Tribal Council, though. Best since Season One, IMHO. It's fun when there are a lot of poor sports. They're enjoyable to watch and mock. Then you end with Yau Man, who shows how to handle loss with eloquent grace. If I were Alex and Lissi, I would've been so embarrassed about my behavior after hearing Yau's questions.

The final TC made a lackluster season really great for me.  ;D

What's up with the two week wait on C/S for the reunion show, though? Luckily there are "alternative sources," so I'm gonna watch the reunion show now...

(Spoiler warning!)

Finally, the votes have been counted (not in the Philippine elections, but in Survivor: Fiji)...and the winner won by a landslide! I would've wanted Yau-Man to win because he has worked the hardest (and was such a gracious loser)! As for Earl, I thought he was smart to have voted off Yau-Man because if he hadn't, Yau-Man would've won (if not in a landslide, a very close fight). I would've wanted Boo to be in the final 3. This would've made the decision harder for the jury.

As for Cassandra, she's the Becky of this season! Dreamz, well, he can convince himself that he was just playing the game, but in my book, he still doesn't have class. Another Survivor villain. I guess he won't even get the entire US$100,000 prize money for the runner-up since he still has Cassandra to split it with.

Sayang, if Yau-Man won, it would have been a perfect segueway to the next season...him being Chinese...and Survivor being in China! La lang.  ::)

I miss S23's airing Survivor live and without commercial interruptions. Also, why does C/S have to air the Reunion weeks apart? Why?  ???

Reunion thoughts:

I couldn't stop laughing when Jeff was asking Dreamz a question, and he repeatedly answered in incomprehensible jive - exactly like those two black guys from the Airplane! movies. It may be un-PC, but that was really such a bad stereotype that was portrayed. Jeff was so frustrated he turned to the audience and said, "This is what it was like for 39 days!"

Still no remorse whatsoever from Dreamz. Sad.

In the last seconds of the show, Earl greeted his mom "Happy Mother's Day," and gave her half his winnings.  8)

Yeah, forgot to mention Boo. Hearing him harp way too much about being a Christian was surreal.

Yeah, forgot to mention Boo. Hearing him harp way too much about being a Christian was surreal.

From his post-show interviews, it turns out Boo did that since he was really annoyed at Dreamz, because throughout their stay on the island, Dreamz would always say "I'm a good Christian, I'm a man of my word!" every time he made a deal with people.

So, it was more patama-mode than psycho preacher-mode.
