Here we go again...despite Lauren Dyogi's remarks last month that they will not be doing another celebrity edition because of the difficulties and issues involved, he just announced recently that they will be doing a PBB Celebrity Edition, which will be aired October 2007.

Anyone here planning to get the 24/7 feed? Despite the farce that was PBB Season 2 I am still interested so I inquired about the access and was expecting the usual 1,000 to 1,500 peso season fee. I was so surprised when the CSR told me that I have to get the digibox to get 24/7. Apparently, they've phased out the analog box and subscribers are now required to get the digibox to get additional features.
I feel like I'm being forced to get something that I don't want. The total price I have to pay, according to the CSR, is 1,500 for the season fee and then 500 bucks for the digibox since I already have the analog box. I don't know if the price they've quoted is true though.

I don't know if the "leaked" list will be the final lineup but aside from Ethel Booba, Baron Geisler and Macoy of Oranges and Lemons I don't know any of the participants. All of them are virtual unknowns. I don't think I'll be subscribing if the lineup is this shallow.

I also have their old analog box--so it's a total of 2,000 bucks? No freaking way--I'm tired of ABS-CBN and Skycable's manipulative schemes to get viewers to shell out more money. After the crappy 2nd half of PBB Season 2, I have no intention of paying that much just to watch a bunch of possible z-listers overact their way and follow Kuya's stupid tasks.

Since unlike during Season 1, the PBB "live" feed now ALWAYS cuts away from EVERYTHING that can be considered rated PG-13, I feel that paying for a live feed would be a complete waste of money.

Disappointing line-up. :( I though ABS would up the ante on their selection this time. Though not a big star as she was then, I like Yayo Aguila (fancy her in Bagets days) joining this celeb ed second season. Not enough reason for me to watch though. I'm certain my sister who has TFC in Singapore will definitely watch this so I maybe I will, too eventually. :-\

The fireworks almost woke up my son. It's probably the best thing to happen tonight. Who's the guy in the house who is so obviously not going to become a matinee idol? Franzen looks better than him -- and I"m not joking.

That Will guy (if I'm not mistaken) is the 'unknown' endorser of McDo and McDo is one of the major sponsor of PBB Season 2 especially during Uplate. Hmmm... ::)

Crap! I settled my Skycable account so that i can re-subscribe to their 24/7 and what do I get? "SORRY BUT YOUR PLACE IS NOT YET SUPPORTED BY OUR DIGITAL BOX"
I've been a subscriber of all 5 previous version of 24/7 Coverage (Pinoy Big Brother Season 1, Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition, Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition, Pinoy Dream Academy and Pinoy Big Brother Season 2) then biglang ganyan ngayon.
They were able to broadcast 5 previous version via what they call "analog technology" - so why can't they do it now?
Well, yes we have to adapt to the changing technologies, but they should see to it that the new technology is available to most areas before actually, cutting off the older technology.
They just want the additional fee for the digi box thats why they are forcing us to subscribe and turn digital. Total crap.

And to make matters worse, Kokey -- who looks like a dog turd with hands and feet -- will make appearances inside the house, too. I can just see the Head of Household challenge for this one -- first to kill Kokey gets to eat. For that kind of challenge I'm willling to spend money.

The Head of Household is disturbing at best, because I think the housemate chosen as HoH will be the only one responsible for nominating the 2 housemates for eviction. So you've got the potential for rigged outcomes right there; just imagine if they used this for Season 2, that biatch Wendy would've won for sure.

In fairness, my family loves to watch kokey because of eugene's hilarious acting, marjorie's cute little daughter and not to mention the show's moral lessons for kids. At first, I really hated how Kokey looks but after watching the episodes... I actually learned to like kokey because of his well-mannered demeanor and his unconditional love for his friends. This is really a good show for kids because it teaches them the "don't judge a book by its cover" lesson. Korekorekorekok? :D :D :D

I watched part of the show yesterday. As with most live ABS-CBN shows, i can't help but feel that the show is essentially an empty spectacle where the producers attempt to manufacture a sense of drama thru loud music and paid spectators. I grew tired of it when they introduced the Deal or deal members and switched channels.
OT: I find that entire Deal or No Deal banker thing quite annoying. The supposed offers are just based on statistics based on the number of possibilities available. judging from the way the banker moves, he might even be just a dancer lang.

To each his own daigoro, my niece and nephew also watch this show and can't argue with the moral lesson it imposes and I do happened to watch it also (only) whenever Eugene started speaking (she really is hilarious). The Banker is indeed annoying daigoro. My brother-in-law who works in PLDT said (or so he claims) that Banker is really a PLDT employee whom they just picked up just to appear in the show. And the first time I saw him dance and do an otso-otso, I lose my respect for him. Is he supposed to do that to be 'funny' and be maka-masa? ???
Back to PBB Celeb Ed Sea.2, it remains to be seen if these new set of housemates will generate more income and higher ratings to ABS. The recent season 2 outrate the first season of PBB Celeb Ed.

I think that girl will give us at least ONE memorable scene this season -- not unless she gets evicted immediately. My wife saw the monday primetime episode and promptly too notice of Will Devaughn. His story about an unhappy family definitely made the girls notice. Tip to the single guys -- playing vulnerable and sad is a sure way to get the ladies.

My daughter was watching PBB Uber yesterday when I arrived from the office, and that was the time Mariel was with the girls in their room.... then my daughter heard her say "Tang-_ _ _" word , thinking maybe she was not live anymore.

But when it comes to voting, the votes for either of the two-in-one housemates will also be added up. It will surely be more than the vote for just one housemate.

By the way, I just passed by The Block this afternoon and saw the SM wall ads in the construction site inside the complex with Jon Avila on it. Then you see the humongous Bench ad of Bruce Quebral in the intersection of EDSA and North Avenue. It made me think how "loosely" the term celebrity is being used in PBB. On the one hand, you have an established model like Bruce being included in the regular edition but you also have someone like Jon Avila and Will Devaughn in the Celebrity Edition. It's either they let in a celebrity in the regular edition, or they let in non-celebrities in the celebrity edition. I guess we all know the answer to that.

Based on tonight's episdode, Megan is the more TV-worthy housemate..She showed that a quirky teenager could be sensitive to other people's situation. I found her more endearing tonight. She should stay as foil to Riza who's so obviously insecure of her.
Let's not underestimate the power of the teen votes and Megan already has a fan base from her GMA7 days.

I refrain from watching this show na although my sis and my mother here in Singapore is again watching this latest season though not as religiously as the previous seasons. Baka sa Big Night na lang.

megan is up again because she was (auto) nominated by the HOH - ethel, though she did rack up quite a few more nominations from the other housemates too. baron does get on the nerves not only of the housemates but of the viewers too. this was especially apparent during their housegirl/houseboy task. in fairness to donnie... he didn't get even a single vote. too bad for him he goes where baron goes. ;D
what's particularly surprising on this nomination night was the overwhelming vote against zara. i think she got even more voting points than baron, who can really be a slob. i've no clue how she got the ire of almost the entire household though.

yes.....her body did filled up through the years.....but without make-up I find her looks ordinary...I even find her eyes too close to each other......
well, to tell everyone here... toni has the body to die for. legs pa lang ulam na. hehe. and yung b**bs nya... noticed too that it's sort of perky right now. parang yung mga piggy pag fertile period. hehe.
about the only shortcoming, if you may call it that, is yung eyes nya nga. you should read how they describe her in some forums. tonyang duleng... banlag, are some of the monickers for her. oh, well... nobody's perfect talaga.

Accused rapist wins Big Brother Africa 2
A man who was accused of sexually assaulting a fellow houseguest on Big Brother Africa 2 won the show’s prize, and the woman he allegedly assaulted came in second. Richard Bezuidenhout from Tanzania placed first, while Nigerian Ofunneka Molokwu placed second.
Late last month, married houseguest “Bezuidenhout lay down next to the comatose young woman [Molokwu] and penetrated her vagina with his fingers. He carried on despite the pleas of another female housemate for him stop. Under the law in South Africa — where, on average, a woman is sexually assaulted every 40 seconds — such an act constitutes rape,” The First Post reported at the time. Eventually, “the producers of the show did intervene, sending paramedics into the house and cutting the live feed. Bezuindehout, defending his sexual behaviour in a show that has featured copious nudity, recently told his housemates, ‘Well, this is Africa.’”
The network denied those events, even though they were broadcast live. A spokesperson for South African broadcaster M-Net said, “There is no indication that she was unconscious at the time.”
The First Post reviewed footage and reports today that Richard “seemed to be touching her private parts, and she seemed to be responding. She thrust her hips up and towards him, gripping his hand between her thighs. … The whole incident, rated suitable for 16-year-olds by the channel’s censor, was filmed by a camera positioned so low that it looked right up between Ofunneka’s thighs. … Molokwu has said on air that she has no recall of the events of that drunken afternoon — but that was before the series came to an end on Sunday, when she had yet to learn of the public outrage or see the incident from the perspective of the viewer. The big question is whether she was conscious of what was happening to her - and the footage I was shown suggests she was.”
The video also showed “the housemates get plastered, fall over in a drunken heap, sob uncontrollably, and vomit — well, the women, at least. Meanwhile, Bezuidenhout, a married man, unbuttoned his trousers, boasted about his ‘machinegun’ and taunted the female housemates with a pledge to ‘bump’ them all.” Previously, he had sex with a different female housemate.

It seems like it. The two we're seen being extremely furious to BB after talking to BB in the confession room before the PBB staff have cut off the live stream.

Ethel had complained about their midget task saying its senseless and all. If she only knew what the task about -- it equates to 1000 pair of shoes to underprivileged children. Yeah I know, its charity again ... but this sh** is given. I think she's just riding Mccoy's scenario.

The Real Mcoy Flares Up!
Shooting the scenes for their short film is currently postponed since the housemates are equally suffering the consequence of Mariel’s eight violations. Since this late afternoon, everyone has to walk on their knees if they want to move around the house. And because doing so proves to be too much of an effort, they all opted to stay put in the living room, sleeping and chatting the night away.
Hours after Donnie is back as a sole housemate, Mcoy recounted how pissed he was last night after Big Brother raised the issue of plagiarism with regards to his written script for their 15-minute film. He got offended, saying that he was stigmatized by the scandal two years ago involving the alleged rip off of Orange and Lemon’s ‘Pinoy Ako’. But he immediately calmed down when Big Brother told him that it wasn’t his intention to insult him. As it is, Kuya said that he stands by their concept but they could have done better than what they came up with.
Remembering what happened last night made him point out again that his idea was definitely different from the “The Ghost of August Mayford”, which Big Brother compared their film’s story with. At the same time, he insisted that they can hardly create scenes that's more Pinoy because the interior of the big yellow house is inspired by the Victorian era after all. He stressed that even the garden appears foreign because of the cherubim and peacock statues. These were all stated conversationally but before he knew it, Mcoy was called inside the confession room tonight. Perhaps Big Brother wants to set things straight because it’s clear that his resident is still affected by the whole incident.
As soon as the Musikerong Daddy returned though, it became evident that their one-on-one talk did not resolve anything. On the contrary, he was fuming mad with their exchange. Adding fuel to his ire was Ethel’s own confusion with all that’s happening to them. Primed for a confrontation, she reiterated their “Praning Theory” last night regarding Mariel’s status -- whether she’s just a guest or a housemate like them. What’s more alarming however is that Ethel and Mcoy are prepared to be “kicked out” if that’s what it all boils down to. Will they really opt for a voluntary exit or will their burning emotions die a natural death now that they are talking to Big Brother again with the rest of housemates? They know he's an alcoholic. They know living in a fishbowl places people under stress.
To give an alcoholic access to booze under those conditions is irresponsible, cruel, and practically criminal.
I'm glad I quit watching this show.

This is by far the worst PBB edition ever--everything about the show's premise has been turned inside and out, with evictees, voluntary exiting housemates, and "guests" that keep coming back again and again--so what's the point? I think three of the 5 remaining housemates aren't even full pinoy citizens (Will, Riza, Jon).

Nagmukha nang halfway house yung PBB house this season. Kulang na lang patulugin yung mga artistang natraffic at walang matulugan after ng taping sa ABS-CBN compound. And, ironically, this is also the show that killed any kind of attraction I had for Mariel.

On a side note, Channel 4 in the UK aired a "Big Brother Around The World" special last week, and the Philippines was prominently featured. Yes, it was the Rustom Padilla "garden outing" that they showed. Disturbingly, they described Rustom as "The Philippine equivalent of Brad Pitt." Wow, now they probably think our actors are all scary-looking.
