Title: AMC's Mad Men
Post by: Reuven Malter on Aug 11, 2007 at 10:12 AM
Is anyone else watching this show? I've been hooked since it premiered.

MAD MEN is a provocative new primetime drama about how to sell the truth. Set in 1960 New York, the daring new series is about the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell while their private world gets sold.

Know more about it here (http://media.amctv.com/originals/madmen/about_show.html).

Interesting period piece that's for sure. Oh and Christina Hendricks has a small role in it which makes me want to watch Firefly all over again  ;D

hands down, bar none the best show on television, cable, network or anywhere. I think the crapload of Emmies it was just nominated for proves that. Season three premieres August 16th! Mark your calendars! :)

The second season was stronger when they showcased the women more. January Jones was robbed of an Emmy nomination, including Christina Hendricks; but Elisabeth Moss, in the final scene of last season was indelible.

Hopefully, many unanswered questions will be answered this sunday, including what is the significance of Don Draper's office being flooded in the season 3 promo poster??

Only one more episode and season 3 is in the books! Also catch the beautiful January Jones as she hosts Saturday Night Live November 14th with musical guest, the Black Eyed Peas!

I'm on the third season and I find it very engaging.

One commendable thing about this series is that majority of the writers are women so iba talaga ang perspective when it comes to the treatment of corporate and family dynamics talagang groundbreaking.

Also welcome relief yung old school style (no dizzying handheld-camera effect, CG, MTV-style editing) which I beleive is heavily influenced by Hitchcock it really helps in the development of the plotlines and vice-versa, the creators really deserve the awards and the critical praises it has garnered.

I guess it was, since one of the girls in the commercial had the same hair as the girl at the retreat Don was talking to:

Galeng! No wonder she had a longer speaking role.

Insightful.

Goodbye to an era. It may not have the acclaim of Breaking Bad but it's really one of the most barrier breaking shows. Quite happy to see it ended on high note and not before it stagnated. Still haven't gotten over how bad Dexter ended up being.
