I've confirmed the V-Mall Sale, so far, Viva titles will be at 50% off like they were at the Podium sale. Right now they're waiting for sale pricing advise from Magnavision.

Iba yata ang Astro-SM-Makati sa Astro-Makati. Lapit lang naman ang Astro-Makati(eto yun malapit sa LandMark, right?), kung nasa SM-Makati ka na eh.

I think the sale is for Astro SM Makati since G2 is still closed and I don't know if the Astro outlet previously near the Landmark entrance has already opened a store in Glorietta.

The Astrovision V-Mall Sale is great! I missed the Podium sale, but here's the general scheme I saw at V-Mall today:
A. Viva
1. All NEW TITLES (including those released today like The Seeker) are 50% off (From 550 to 275).
2. Older catalog Disney/Fox titles are 150-175. Two disc sets (like Predator: Special Edition) are 275.
3. TV boxed sets - Incredibly cheap. Prison Break Season 1 & 2 were just released last week at 3000 each. They're now selling for 999 each!
B. Magnavision
1. All brand new 695 releases (30 Days of Night, American Pie: Beta House, Good Luck Chuck, Love Lies Bleeding, etc.) are 50% off.
2. Newer two-disc 895 releases, though (Across the Universe, The Bourne Ultimatum, etc.), are only discounted down to 750. Older 2-Disc sets (Like The Da Vinci Code with metallic slipcase) are down to 299.
3. Old boxed sets like House and Odyssey 5 are 50% off
4. Newly-released boxed sets have small discounts (e.g. - Kingdom Hospital from 1200 to 999; Planet Earth from 1500 to 1200)
C. Warner
1. Their 199 titles are down to 150. Whoopie. ::)

Yes, saw the two titles at SM Makati: P175 for Predator 2 disc and P1,500 for Prison Break S1 & S2. Buti na lang hindi ko binili yun Prison Break. I might get this at VMall instead. Gracias!

I rushed to Astro SM Makati with the intent to buy these new Magna releases at 50% off their regular prices. How disappointed I was to find these titles at regular prices. The Warner sale was also disappointing. Not much stocks. I'm just going to get them at Astro Greenhills tomorrow.
Anyway, I didn't go empty-handed. I got the following:

It's always been that way (especially when Astro Glorietta was still open). I think the DVD's outside are direct from Viva. Astro SM Makati might just be a consignee. I'm not sure though why this is not implemented in Astro Podium.

I was convincing the sales ladies to include the Magnas that got released yesterday to the 50%-off sale like the other titles that were released just this week, but they wouldn't budge. These are The Kingdom, Atonement and Elizabeth - The Golden Age, still priced at Php 695 each. Warner didn't have much stocks so their sale still sucks for me. Viva had plenty, but not as much as in the last Podium sale.
I also passed by Astro SM Makati, and they lowered the prices of the new Magna releases to match the sale price of the Vira Mall sale. Interestingly, Astro Vira Mall itself didn't include the new Magnas in the sale. They can only be bought at discounted prices in the sale outside the Astro store.
Stardust, by the way, isn't discounted in both sales. There were no stocks in Vira Mall, but they said stocks will be coming this afternoon, but they won't be discounted.

And no, there's no midnight madness sale in Vira Mall, so they must be open only until 9 PM.

I also have the Definitive Edition, although I haven't opened it yet. There's no DTS track indicated in the specs grid at the back cover. Sometimes Amazon isn't reliable when reporting DVD specs.

I got my Spider-Man 3 2-Disc at Greenhills for Php 550 just this morning, that's why I'm shocked when rico_g reported that he got his for only Php 299. In fact, I was haggling the sales ladies to lower it down to Php 475 because one copy has the yellow Php 475 sticker on it.

They budged already. But only for Elizabeth: The Golden Age. And it's only a 45 peso discount, down to 650.

Thought about getting the new Predator 2-Disc since it was cheap, but I wasn't really a fan. Good action movie, though.
At Vira Mall there was this girl asking about the Spider-Man 2 gift set from one of the salesladies just as I was holding it. The saleslady told her they didn't have any more.
I thought about just handing it over to her instead because I really didn't mind. Then I thought that can't be their last item on stock ever, and I couldn't stay because I wanted to get home already.
I hope she stuck around for a bit while longer because there were still some boxes that haven't been opened yet and I've been reading how a lot of the members here keep finding this particular giftset on sale everywhere at Astro. Hope she got lucky :)

That was clearly mispriced... but we at PinoyDVD know how to take advantage of such occurrences. ;D Darn, masaya pa naman ako sa 1200 ko...
By the way, in case anyone's looking, outside Astro V-Mall, I saw that Stardust already had a "50% Off" sticker. Inside Astro, though, they said it wasn't supposed to be included yet. Stick to the outside Astro sale, since inside, all the new titles (Stardust, 30 Days of Night, American Pie: Beta House, etc.) are not discounted.

I went to makati last weekend, trying not to pass by astrovision stores so as not to get tempted. hehe. But fortunately, I passed by Music One. I can't believe that they priced the Planet Earth DVD from 1500 to just 600. So I immediately bought it. So much for self control. hehehe.

Sa O GB1, it was priced at P999.00 last Friday. Was supposed to get it pero 1 stock na lang so had to give in to my friend's request na sa kanya na ang muna kasi uwi sya ng province the following day.

Weird nga eh. In Astro SM Makati, these titles (except Stardust) were priced at 50% off during the sale. But on the first day (Friday), their prices were not yet slashed.

After I bought my copy from Music One, they immediately placed another copy into the bin. And it was again priced at 600. Since the shrink wrap of the copy that I bought had a tear, I had it replaced. So maybe it was not really mispriced. (Or maybe the whole batch was mispriced, hehe)
Anyway, sorry guys. I was hoping to post this news right after I bought it so that you guys can also get your copies there. Unfortunately, I had to go to Laguna where I had no internet access. Will do next time.... :)

oh my! nakakapanlambot naman ito. :-[ i passed by M1 yesterday but didn't bother to look at the DVDs. nasa CD section ako looking for one particular artist. when i didn't find it, alis na kagad kami kasi nga sa Astro Makati ang DVD hunting ko. pero ayun, la rin ako nabili. :'(

Possibly, but I'm guessing it's the latter, like when "O" kept on mispricing items and many of us here were able to take advantage of the errors due to early alerts - like the Carnivale boxed set, Strangers on a Train, etc. Hopefully some people haven't bought Planet Earth yet and will see this thread so they can get this incredible boxed set at this great price. :)

I bought The Little Mermaid DVD today for P175. Its my first time to buy a disney animation. Upon viewing I noticed that it is full screen. Ganito ba talaga yung mga Disney animations? or mga R3 versions lang ang ganito?
