And I can't believe that Rob Thomas was partly responsible and that Lucille Bluth is part of the cast! That would be cool though, Jessica Walter in character as Lucille in 90210. Hehe! I hear that Jennie Garth has agreed to appear in the new series. There's also one hottie that I like that's part of the cast -- Jessica Stroup, she was a girlfriend of Sam's in Reaper. Hehe....
We'll see, the other 2 co-creators were also involved in Freaks and Geeks a while back.

So... how is it different from the old show? ???
;D

I hate that I read about this show's development everyday!!! Sobrang marketing, baka pangit ang actual delivery. :P
Jennie Garth in. And Tori Spelling is also in, cameo, first episode lang daw. They're closing a deal with Ian next. And Luke Perry baka. Brandon na lang. Brenda's return? Not even considered. Kawawa naman. ;D

Did he not leave this project already?

Si Brenda has to play a recovering addict who has a relapse. That's the rule. Hehe! Yes, Mr. Thomas has left the show but he's still credited for it.

Proving there are no permanent enemies and friends in Hollywood:
If you’re a fan of the OG Peach Pit posse, you might want to sit down, ‘cause sources connected to the CW’s new 90210 are spilling exclusive dish of OMG proportions.
In a nutshell: Shannen Doherty is in, Tori Spelling is out and Jennie Garth may be—wait for it—reuniting with Shannen on the screen.
(We’ll pause while you find a paper bag to breathe into...especially if your name happens to be Jennie Garth.)
After EW.com's Michael Ausiello first reported the news that Shannen is in talks, a very reliable and very inside source who works on 90210 tells me exclusively that “It is happening with Shannen. It's just a question of how long she'll shoot, whether it will be one day or ten, and what the storyline will be, but we are working on it and it is a very real thing."
Inside sources also confirm exclusively that Tori will not be appear in the season premiere as planned because of personal reasons—like she just gave birth to a baby girl on June 9. The new mom had been signed on to do a few episodes at the beginning of the season, but she isn't yet ready to return to work, so her appearance has been pushed to a later date.
As for Shannen’s storyline, I’m told the details are still in the initial-concept stages, but the writers are hoping to get Shannen and Jennie together, onscreen, for a scene. Can you imagine? As far as superhot publicity explosions go, that would be akin to mixing gasoline, Tabasco sauce and fire.
Of course, the real question is, will they do it? “I don't think there's any love lost between Shannen and Jennie," says one rock-solid inside source. “But they are both adults now and professionals, and I don’t see it being an issue. Everyone has their take on what happened back in the day, and I think the feeling is that it’s time to move on. They were 19 and 20 when all of that happened and a lot has changed. And, you know, they’re not moving in together, just shooting together for an hour and a half.”
Another insider close to the negotiations points out: “I want to stress that Shannen has been very, very cool through this whole process. We have seen nothing like the behavior for which she was once famous for.”
Awww...Who doesn’t love a redemption story, right? As long as there are two red dresses in the dressing room, all should be right with the world, the ratings should go through the roof and we 9-0 fans can start freaking out about how lip-smackingly juicy this remake just might turn out to be.

Have you seen the show? After finally catching up with it, it really seems like they read your post, since Jessica Walter is practically playing Lucille Bluth on the show. ;D
Walter's drunken, sometimes verbally-abusive, skinny-dipping grandmother is for me the most fun thing about the show. The rest is conventional teen drama we've all seen before, and done better, at that.
Still fun to watch as a guilty pleasure, though.

Yeah dude, she's playing a slightly dialed down more family friendly drunk grandmother. Favorite character so far, Silver! Hehe...

Coz she's hot! Unfortunately, others are not so pretty. And the show is becoming pretty boring. I stopped watching about three episodes ago.
-
Guilty pleasure viewing for me as well. Ironically enough I never watched the first one and was intent on not watching this as well if not for my wife who wanted to check it out because she watched the first series when she was a teenager. I got hooked by the cheesiness from the get-go... and Silver keeps me coming back. :)

Aw, crap. Of course I jinxed it:
9021-Oh No They Didn't: Jessica Walter Taken Off Contract
Oct 15, 2008, 05:20 PM | by Michael Ausiello
It looks like 90210's martini-swilling granny may be headed for another stint in rehab. Sources confirm to me exclusively that Jessica Walter has been dropped as a series regular.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that the MVP won't be leaving the show. Not yet, anyway.
A 90210 insider says while it's true that Walter's contract option was not picked up for the second half of the season, the Arrested Development grande dame has agreed to appear on a recurring basis, her schedule permitting.
"Fans have not seen the last of Tabitha," assures executive producer Gabe Sachs. "We love Jessica."
According to my moles, the decision to take Walter off contract was made purely for financial reasons. As the show continues to evolve, it didn't make sense to, as one 90210 insider puts it, "pay her all that money to utter two funny lines an episode."
Instead, 90210 will continue to invest in headline-grabbing vets like Shannen Doherty, as well as characters that drive story, such as Jessica Lowndes' Adrianna (who was just made a series regular).
Ironically, Walter's status change comes as 90210 is about to morph into a show more worthy of her considerable talents. Upcoming episodes under its new exec producer, Gilmore Girls vet Rebecca Kirshner, have been a "vast improvement," raves a setsider. "The writing is sharper and the characters much more interesting."
And with all the dough they'll save on faux vodka -- not to mention what already has to be a minuscule craft-services budget -- maybe now they'll be able to afford Luke Perry!
-
That's a shame. She's the best thing on the show. Aside from Silver, of course.
I've read Luke Perry is not interested in appearing on the show. That other dude though, Jason whatsisface, is going to return this season, not in front of the camera but behind it. He's been contracted to direct a couple of episodes.

(Melrose Place please) With skin! Minus gay guy with lesbian instead.
You got your wish!
Melrose Place debuted last night on The CW, and instead of a gay guy, they have a hot lesbian! ;D
It was a very decent pilot, IMHO. Far more interesting than the entire season (and first new episode) of 90210. But I still can't figure out...
...how Sydney not only came back from the dead, but also became the new landlady. And at what point/with whom did Michael have a son that's old enough to be a 20something adult by now?
-
Trash TV! I'm gonna get this right now!

Geez! I forgot that I made that post. It's been over a year. Hehe... been distracted by all the nudity in True Blood and Californication.
Melrose Place 2009, Trash TV it is... Thanks CW. I still hate you for killing Veronica Mars.
-
Can't wait to watch this, hehe. Just finished "acquiring" it along with the new 90210 -- pleasure so guilty even my wife rolls her eyes when she catches me watching it.
-
Haha! Got the season premiere of both also. I just love the start of the new tv season.
-
ipapalabas kaya ito sa local cable?
-
Baka delayed lang or after the season has ended in the US.
-
Thanks CW. I still hate you for killing Veronica Mars.
I still haven't forgiven them for killing off Everwood for another season of the already-cancelled Seventh Heaven. ;D

Is Stephanie Jacobsen going to be part of the regular cast?

Just watched the first episode. Man, this show really needs to be on Cinemax/HBO. Hehe...

I like that it was revealed that the "W" in the WPK Public Relations firm Ella works in stands for (Amanda) Woodward. ;D

Following BH90210’s first season finale last September 11, TVLine reports that FOX has officially decided not to give the revival series a second season renewal.
