hi guys,
need help saan kaya makakakuha ng mga archives ng mga TV series nito:
TODAS, Iskul Bukol, Champoy, Going Bananas, Barrio Balimbing.
mga 80's era.
your help is highly appreciated.

TODAS, Goin Bananas - sa ibc 13 ito. dito ako nag-work before. sadly, di maayos ang archiving nila. dikit-dikit ang ang umatic tapes ng 80s classics shows. most of them are missing pa. walang naitagong isang episode na buo/kumpleto sa goin bananas. todas madami, simula ep 1 meron.
iskul bukol - our own little way prod. ito shown on ibc 13. feeling ko diki-tdikit na rin tapes nito. kasi yung hiniram namin sa kanila, kinuha pa ng a.p. namin sa bodega nila e. dusty tapes na.
Champoy - rpn 9. mas maayos ang archiving nila. ewan ko lang kung may copy pa sila nito. kasi flodeluna wala na silang copy e.
Barrio Balimbing - si lou veloso artista rito di ba? di ko sure kung ibc, rpn o gma 7 ito.
u-matic tapes lahat ito. sa ibc, di na nailipat kahit sa betacam ang mga old shows. very rare na rin ang umatic player doon.
ang alam ko may bayad pag nagpakopya sa tv stations. hingi rin sila sulat kung saan gagamitin.

tsk sayang, lot of us na nag aabroad are looking for this tv series. sana magawan ng paraan.
saan ba pede at sino pede makausap regarding this sa IBC. for personal use lahat.

Champoy - rpn 9. mas maayos ang archiving nila. ewan ko lang kung may copy pa sila nito. kasi flodeluna wala na silang copy e.
Champoy was a lot funnier before it moved to RPN 9. I can't remember what channel it came from... 4 yata? It became a lot more commercial on 9, with bigger guest stars. Still a cut above other Pinoy shows of the time.

Cicconeguy, any idea what happened to those countless umatic tapes that includes movies of SINE PILIPINO PRODS? Nasunog ba tlaga? I remember watching ZOOM ZOOM SUPERMAN and SI POPEYE ATBP on channel 13 back in the early 80's.
TODAS & CHAMPOY are cut above the rest of gag shows before BUBBLE GANG and the rest followed.

hmmm let me think. when i was there, we used to borrow old tagalog movies in umatic tapes sa film archive ng trese. we used to watch them pag may free time. mostly edited/censored copies ang mga ito. ang tanda ko, nandun pa ang mga yun sa archive sa taas e. di ko na alam kung sino archivist doon. nag-retire na kasi yung dati. isang room lang yun e kasama nung mga old moves at reels ng rpn 9. talaga nasunog? wala na kasi akong balita e.
hiwalay naman ang archive ng tv shows. ang umatic tapes ng tv shows ng ibc at rpn ay nasa respective production departments naman nila. sa rpn, nakatago sa malalaking cabinets. sa ibc, magkakasama sa isang kwarto, naka-shelf. minsan patung-patong yung umatic tapes to give space to more recent shows in betacam tapes. the last time i checked, walang aircon. so im sure nag-moist na yun at dikit-dikit na.
the last time i used those old umatic tapes was when i edited several montage for a reunion special about 8 years ago. imagine my predicament then. e di lalo na ngayon.

usually letter muna sa production dept head. tapos dadaan pa yun sa superior nya. im not sure lang ha kung papayag sila ng for personal use. pero try mo rin. ang usually kasi humihingi ng portion ng copies mga taga-tv rin (for example, para sa isang retrospective ng isang former star ng ibc, or awards show, or ccp).
more than 10 yrs ago, frieda fonda and her husband had some todas tapes dubbed in vhs pa. medyo okay pa ang condition kasi noon ng umatic tapes and players.
ngayon, im sure forever lost na to dust and moist ang mga tape na yun. saka baka wala na silang gumaganang umatic players.

About TODAS, a few episodes were shown awhile back on Drew Arellano's defunct retro show on IBC.

Sayang.....if those umatic tapes can be save including those countless movies that would give a chance to those who want to relive those tv shows and movies to watch again.
CEBU mini-series were also left on the archive of channel 9.

Thank you for your email. I am sorry I answered quite late. I just came back from the USA after being there for 3 1/2months. Unfortunately most of the tapes were left in broadcast city when the coup of Cory occurred. I have a few programs in the betamax format which I intend to transfer to a vcd . Some tapes which are in the 3 inch wide format will be too expensive to transfer and am not even sure if there are any available machines to run them for a transfer. Sayang no? Nakakaiyak nga...

talagang nakakaiyak. when we were editing some clips for the ibc 13 reunion special, wala kaming makita kahit isang episode na buo ng see thru ni ate luds. dun kasi sa 13 nagsimula yun e. so we contacted ate luds. she lent us some BETAMAX tapes. kahit sya, betamax tapes din ang meron sya.
ang sistema kasi before sa broadcast (both ibc and rpn), especially nung panahon ng umatic tapes, pag wala ng stock ng umatic tapes na gagamitin, nagbubura sila ng previously used tapes. e ang mga yun minsan kopya ng isang old episode or material tapes na ginamit.
naging magulo kasi ang archiving sa broadcast after edsa rev (bbc, ibc, rpn all owned by the benedictos, later sequestered by pcgg.) e di lalo na yung bbc channel 2 before. yun ang pumalit sa ere after abs left during martial law. pagbalik nila after edsa rev, nawala sa ere yung bbc. ngayon, im sure wala ni isang tape sa show ng bbc. take note, dun una galing ang variety show ni vilma santos, yung vilma. which became vip sa gma 7.
kahit yata voltes v na inere sa 13 e wala na. at ang malupit, lahat ng shows na ndi naka-umatic e walang kopya. puro old pictures na lang. flordeluna nga sa rpn wala na sila raw e.

Back when there was CTV-31, it used to air ISKUL BUKOL on weeknights at 6pm. The comic situations are so corny but very hilarious! Amusing to see do's and clothings of actors guesting in the said show, the likes of Bibeth Orteza (semi-regular), Hadji Alejandro & Rio Locsin, Lilian Laing, Roderick Paulate, Joey Albert, Tanya Gomez and Anna Marie Gutierrez, etc.

Cicconeguy, I was chatting with Elwood Perez this morning and he said someone told him everything was in channel 13.
If you can visit and dig their archive one of these days, that would be great! ZOOM ZOOM SUPERMAN, LIPAD DARNA LIPAD & SI POPEYE ATBP are now considered holy grail! Motherf**ker!

If those classic comedy series from the 80's can somehow be salvaged and saved in digital format, it would really make a lot of people (well, from my generation at least) VERY VERY HAPPY. I really hope someone can do it. Kahit TVJ man lang - which is relatively newer than TODAS or Iskul Bukol.

tvj naka umatic din. inabutan ko pa to sa 13 before. i dropped by last week and mentioned about this thread. unfortunately, kung ano ang sinabi ko rito ay ganun din ang sagot nila. kakalungkot ano. wala naman silang magawa e. ibc 13 is govt-controlled. sabi ko nga baka kumita pa sila kung ilalagay nila sa dvd format ang mga yun at ibenta sa public. dami kayang bibili.

bro if ever iconvert nila into digital format, isa na ako sa bibili ng buong series. at ipaparating ko rin dito sa mga kababayan natin sa abroad, mis na mis na namin yung mga sitcom era nung 80's, hindi kasi swiming pool of the same character over and over again katulad ng mga sitcom ngayon. limited ang napapanood namin dito sa abroad and those 80's era will really make at least my generation really happy.

ay talaga? nasa kabilang building kasi ang film archive ng trese e. tagal ko na di nakapunta dun. saka wala na yung mga kilala ko run, nagsipag-retire na. im sure nasa umatic lahat yun. sana lang buhay pa. edited copies lahat ng nasa film section e, mga pinalabas before sa tv. yaan mo pag bumisita ulit ako, ill ask around.
wow buti ka pa ka-chat mo si direk elwood. sana mag-direk sya ulit.

I think ABS-CBN has some of the Goin Bananas episodes since I remember watching the re-runs of the sitcom in Cinema One before.
