For fans of the "reality" TV genre, just a quick reminder that FEAR FACTOR starts tonight at 8PM on AXN.

No continuity, bartmaniac. It's six contestants per show, and they go down to one winner within the episode. $50,000 for three days work. When one gets voted off first on SURVIVOR, they only get $2500 for their 3 days!

But frankly, I'd rather eat the Survivor bugs/blood/etc. than spend the four minutes the FEAR contestants spent strapped down with the 400 live rats!

Our Pinoy delicacy BALUT made it as one of the stunts in FEAR FACTOR tonight. You know, the portion where the contestants have to eat something gross. All four contestants didn't have any problem eating two balut eggs. :)

If we're talking about the same episode then those weren't balut but buffalo testicles! Eww. The ladies gave up on the dare. The men had no problem finishing two of the juicy delicacy (double gross!).

I've been watching Fear factor(since the airing of the second season) on AXN and so far the balut challenge has not yet been aired. I'm so gald ;) That's the challenge that I've been waiting for. ;D
yeah im glad its not yet shown...nag bogged down yung cable namin last nite...i thought yun yung episode...im praying na hindi pa yung balut episode yung showing kagabi...thank heavens...hindi pa nga...hehehe...what was the food challenge last nite? anyone?... ;D 8) ;D

Girls with cut triceps, guys that are triathletes...plus everyone seems to really bring their game. Haven't seen anyone vomit lately. Eating pig rectum was just flat out nasty. :-X Do they even cook the food for hygenic purposes? Boil it or something?
Next to Amazing Race, this is a show I would love to be a contestant on. Survivor would be a distant third. Where's the fun in being stranded in an island with whiny backstabbing body odorific people? :D

i think they have the heart to boil what they are going to serve on the food challenge...pero its disgusting pa rin...considering the odor and the appearance of the food they would be serving on the challenge... :P

Agree with you, the challenges have definitely been tougher compared to last year. And the girls are more aggressive this year.

That episode with the pig rectum was the one which the gay guy won right? Hilarious! I loved how he totally beat that big black cowboy macho dude and the female triathlete.
I get annoyed at contestants who talk trash and act pikon and are too serious and stuff. It's like they're milking their TV mileage. :P

I think the only person who was totally grossed out about it was host Joe Rogan. He kept on making "puke" faces, and telling them they were a bunch of freaks for eating it with ease.
Anyone else sort of offended by that statement? ???
It'll rerun today at 1PM then again on Sunday at 7pm, I think, for those who want to watch it.

Saw it! Thanks Mr. Hankey, I was planning to watch it on Saturday pa. They weren't totally grossed out like in previous "eating challenge"....they probably enjoyed it pero didn't wanna admit it.
Anyway, kinda off-topic but it's still about food: saw this tv show last night on the Arirang Channel (#58 sa amin). It's called GLUTTON CHALLENGE and there's 6 food eating contest. They eat anything, one competition had hamburgers, another challenge had a bowl of mayo or butter, another had hotdogs, paramihan lang ng kain. it wasn't exactly gross but because it's under time pressure and paramihan, the contestants were gagging pa rin. The grossest (meron ba nun?) challenge was the brain eating challenge and the tongue eating challenge. The winner gets to win money or something. It was weird and funny at the same time. I never thought someone would gag just by eating butter.
Papaitan or dinuguan kaya ang pakainin nila sa mga ganyang food challenge? ;D

In the last episode I saw over the weekend, the contestants were made to eat pig uteruses (uteri?). Somebody correct me, but aren't these served as local fare? Because I remember eating one, only well cooked, seasoned and spiced.
Now, just the thought of mush and grit of cow brain makes me gag uncontrollably.

I have watched Ripley's Believe It or Not and there was this guy who is holding the title...The Guy Who Could Eat Anything.
He ate these raw:
Fish and Cow's eyes
Leeches
Maggots
and Cow's Dung
...in front of a live audience. And he wasn't drinking any water to flush these down! Uuuugh!

eeww...those cockroaches were called madagascar roaches...they are large...plump...and their shells were so tough...when they bite it their juices come out...yuck!!! :o

the twin sister were crying when they were chomping down fermented squid guts, habanero peppers - the hottest pepper in the whole world? ( i think our labuyo is the hottest), century egg ( i dont wanna dare eat it...my chinese friends kept on daring me to eat one though) and ants... ;D i think i can eat the ants...but the other food challenge i dont think so...but what if the ants go crawling in your throat...then through your stomach? :P

Well, it's a cultural thing. But I can understand why things like these would gross them out the way dinuguan does. It is easy for us to say it's not big deal because we grew up eating dinuguan ...
But they do like sushi.

Echoing utoy's sentiments....it was my reaction on the episode last night. I actually gagged not because of what they were made to eat but because of how they looked while trying to swallow the food! Bakit nakakahawa yun, pag may nasusuka, nahahawa ka rin? Just like yawning....
Oh, by the way, I used to eat ants when I was little ;D...When I was around 8 or 9, somebody told me that eating ants will give you a good singing voice, so naniwala naman ako. Tanga no? :P ;D

The show is called Fear Factor .. not Gross Out Factor.
It started with fear of heights, claustrophobia, mouse, spiders, etc ... and then they started doing these gross stunts. Yikes !

Oh, btw, century eggs don't smell that bad right? I've never tried tasting one, my dad has been telling me to try one, I've seen it, I've touched it but I don't remember it having a foul smell. kasi generally, ang mga amerikano, hindi adventurous pagdating sa pagkain. i worked in the states for a couple of years, and when my housemates cooked adobo and brought it to the office, iilan lang ang nagtangkang tumikim. nag-mcdo na lang sila.
pero naman yung mga nakatikim, hindi makatigil sa pagsubo, at humingi pa ng recipe.
sa tingin ko nga, itong fear factor, dapat i-rename na lang sa feed factor. mas tatalon pa ang mga contestant from a 200 foot high bridge kesa magsubo ng balot. :)

was able to watch the last part na. yung last challenge. where they have to take a dip into an ice cold water to get something in the floor. they have to dive two levels to get to the pins. ang nakakuha ay yung Feb 2001 playmate. most of the remaining players backed-out and never tried it. hehehe. dalawa lang ang natuloy. and then isa lang ang nakakuha nung object. muntik nang malunod kasi naligaw pa. kasi they have to pass under thru a hole to get to the next level. when she got the object nalagpasan nya yung hole. fortunately nakita nya and she won the 50 gran. sexy ng mga girls!!! grrrrr!! ;D

Heheh, I think he's just playing them. I remember this saying that if you repeat something its an opinion, if you say it three times its a fact. hehehe can someone tell me from what movie that was?
I remember, I used to do that with my foreign colleagues before. They saw a someone selling balut asked me before what balut was and I told them that Balut is a duck egg boiled in a special broth. Of course I gave exquisite details on how it looks when you take off the shell.. Man I love to see them squirm, start gagging and say how disgusting that must be.
Man, its nice to play with other peoples head at times.

What I found absolutely hilarious was the comment one of the girls made after the slug-eating stunt. She said that the slugs felt like a condom in her mouth. The other girl was so embarassed and surprised by that remark that she turned her back to the camera and reprimanded the girl. She tried to save face by muttering something I can't remember right now, but it was another faux pas.

Saw a replay of that episode last night. Garry Dominguez is the Pinoy guy. First of all, he doesn't look fit and admitted earlier that he has a fear of water. What so sad about this guy was when he got the flag, instead of swimming, he was just paddling (dog paddle) to reach the next platform. One of the contestants even commented "That guy can't swim! He's just paddling!"
The other Asian female, almost sank when she dropped from the helicopter, too bad.
The slug eating was gross, One guy kept spitting out the slug that his saliva was all over the glass table. He didn't make it.
Yep, the condom comment from Chandra was funny and surprising. The other female, Jill was so embarrassed she lost her poise, Joe had to tell her "Stand up straight, you're on camera."
After Chandra made that comment, I wanted her to win! ;D Too bad it went to Jill.

The winner from last night's episode was unexpected. I was rooting for the Korean but she got beaten by a second! The lone guy finalist was funny. He had this weird-looking hair and made the sign of the cross before gulping on the ostrich egg. The winner's 'future' grabs attention. Watch out for the first challenge.

I'm only a new convert to this show and last Monday's episode was the first one that made me laugh. The stunt where they were made to eat reindeer balls and hundred-day eggnog (?). There was this guy who tried to make one of the girls barf while she was wolfing down all these goodies. It was mean but... ;D

It was fun seeing those two girls wipe out their competition. Another loudmouth was sent home packing. They even shared the $50,000. Is this the first time it happened? Even though it looked like chicharon, horse rectum still looked disgusting to eat.

Yeah, seeing only two girls standing after the first stunt was nice! And of course, watching the loud-mouth swallow his words was also worth watching!
Nicole, though, was pretty dumb to volunteer to go first in the last stunt! Forget luck! It was more important to observe technique! That spelled her demise!
And why was the girl who completed the last stunt declared as the Fear Factor champion? Di ba dapat quits lang sila ni Nicole kasi they completed two stunts each and got $25,000? Wala lang, was just thinking na malas naman ni Nicole kasi hindi siya qualified sa Battle of the Champions! She was doing very well pa naman in the first two stunts.

I think so. The last time I remember that everyone except one got eliminated was in the first challenge. They brought everyone back the next day and just gave the guy a $10,000 bonus. Unfortunately for him, he's the one who got eliminated during the second round.
Well... at least he went home with half a million... pesos. :)

In the past many episodes of Fear Factor, the trash talkers always win! It is a good to see that nice people also triumph in the end! Expect the Fear Factor Battle of Champions to be sooo annoyingly noisy with all the trash talkers coming together! ;D

I agree with you. I always watch this show and I must say that this episode was really the YUCKIEST one for me. The male contestant was really gross. Things were coming out from his nose to his maggot filled cheese and he would puke a little and eat it all over again ... it's the most URGGGHHH yuck challenge I've ever seen.
On the same challenge naman, galing the woman - yucky na nga yung stuff that she's eating but inspite of that her demureness as a woman was still there and you don't feel as grossed out as compared to the yucky guy.

i agree, this episode was the most sickest and for me, FUNNIEST! i dont know bout u guys but i was laughing really hard when i saw that fireman guy with his mucus comin out of his nose and the way he choked/coughed..he was like a baby compared to Tammy..

Same here.. hehehehe.. last night's show was very cool and in comparison, the second stunt they did (normally the one designed to freak the contestants out), wasn't exactly that icky - goat milk is a lot better than liver, coagulated blood and worm/roach mixtures IMHO. ;)
