For me, the stand must be wider than the TV kung flat panel. If the rack is narrower than the TV or just as wide as the TV, it does not look good.

Materials - Ordinary wood lang, tanguili from regular lumber shop.
Construction - No nails. Just glue, screws, and mortise & tenon joints:

Very time-consuming but avoids putty marks and split wood.
To avoid nail marks on top, the table top is attached from underneath with pocket screws; no glue, for expansion/contraction allowance.
Finish - Oil wood stain coloring, shellac, sanding sealer, polyurethane varnish, then top coat with ordinary flat varnish.

Regular glass is very dangerous. May napanood ako sa Rescue 911 noon, muntik mamatay yung nabasagan ng regular plate glass, tinamaan kasi ang artery.

Kung type ko ang modern look, baka ganito ang binili ko (Sabre Mystral). Kaya lang, mas gusto ko yung antique look, kaya yung mga real wood lang ang puwede sa akin.
Bagay na bagay yan sa gloss black na TV! I think this is tempered glass na tinted. Cleaning tip: spray water on a clean flannel rag (yung pang-kotse) and wipe. That's the best and cheapest way to remove smudges and fingerprints. Don't use chemical sprays. Residue buildup will be visible as a rainbow effect when light shines on the surface.

nice thread. let me share my DIY corner HT furniture. finishing could have been oil stained but the radiata pine (from armourwood) is sooo bad and not furniture grade. i also DIY'ed the center table from matwood pine and it is way better.
i used ace paint (metro brown) for the finishing instead. though it is expensive, it only requires one coat with very nice results. if you look closer, you can also see the wood grains.

i just got a 2-seater leather recliner from Mandaue Foam for +/- 19k (they have a promo of 20% off on all items for cash payment). its more compact than the one pictured and without any middle arm rest and cup holder.
3-seater leather goes for 32k less 20%. 3-seater micro fiber goes for 28k less 20%. they only have dark brown and beige for the leather recliners.

I really like this thread. :) I do have a question about the TV rack, is it advisable to follow the Bello design wherein there are no drawers/cabinets integrated in it so as to free our system from clutter thus allowing more air to make our systems cool? thanks.

Thanks! But all the work and craftiness goes to my friend. All i did was design and visited often to make adjustments. :)
In retrospect:
1. Should have used darker glass or a thin metal sheet for the back end, wire outlines are a bit visible at day.
2. The holes should have been a bit lower, if the equipment's thin then it's wires are also visible.
3. Could have shaved an inch or two i guess.

Nice Thread. By the way for custom made stuff do you have it done by a furniture shop? or Ordinary lang na carpenter? We had a TV rack before that was done by a carpenter pero mukhang sablay sa finishing. I think it's because they dont have power tools for sanding/buffing.
may specialization po kasi yung mga carpenters, usually hiwalay po yung nagfifinish sa nagaassemble ng rack. a good seller that we have here that builds beautiful custom racks at very reasonable prices is sir oyie.

boss i'm using this very same rack ng cdr king. Solid sya. Ganda. 3 layers ng tempered glass. Pang 22" to 42" sya as per cdr king. Pero ginamit ko sya sa Samsung 51" plasma ko.
Downside lang ay yung 2nd shelf nya, saktong fit lang ang Marantz receiver ko. Konting konti na lang space on top so not ideal kasi mainit yung receiver. I have no choice but to put the receiver on the top.
Makes me think of having a customized rack instead.this is actually the best option. too bad wala akong kilala dito sa amin :(

Sooo... More than three years passed, did CDR-King TV stands stay sturdy? Are they actually sturdy? Parang nakakatakot sa pics?
Any place else where I can buy TV racks/hanging stands cheap and solidly built?

I did not use nails nor screws for the av rack. :)

You must have been a Master in Dovetail joint Sir defcon3. A carpentry art that fascinates me when I was still a child until now, when I look at those old bauls that were crafted without using any fasteners like nails or screws.
Favorite ata ni sir defcon ang mga dovetails and pigeontails.
